  • AT&T started installing fiber optics lines underground last year. When crews make it to your neighborhood, you'll notice. You can't miss the machinery.

Who did you expect to come out and mark the lines? The 811 operator? The system is designed to be hassle free. An easy number to call so you don't have to call a half dozen utility companies.
If you call 911 does a 911 operator come out to assist you? Of course not. They notify the proper agency to serve your request for help. Each utility company has a crew that just marks lines.

Frontier is installing lines in our neighborhood and they are just pushing pipes from one end of the street to the other by going underground. No digging at all.

AT&T put their fiber optic conduit straight through my sewer line beneath my driveway. I did not have problems until 6 years later.
Had to tear out my driveway and replace the sewer line about $6k just for the sewer line and $14k for the driveway. I yet to put in a claim, don't know if they will do anything after so much time has passed.

AT & T showed up on our property & say they are digging into our water drainage system, culvert, & concrete driveway! And to add insult to injury, they say if we resurface concrete or redo drainage lines, we may not be able to do it if it could damage their lines! We are not even At&T customers. Calling city hall tomorrow about easement lines. There is no easement listed on our Deed to property. Worker refused to give me his name or his foreman's name. AT&T not helping at all. Worker says he will be standing there laughing in my face when they dig up our yard, culvert, drainage system, & concrete driveway pad!

They've been doing this to ALOT of neighborhoods. I don't think it is right either. It's kind of strange to just ram your products through people's property without permission or a notice. I had dealings with at and t and they never returned our money and kept increasing our bill in the past. I don't trust this company. The whole situation is weird to force that and then act like its acceptable without permission or a notice. Plus if the city is involved its funny to me how they can cram cables in my yard but not ever fix our flooding problem if it has to do with easement. So your not alone alot of people seem to be making complaints etc... Some also say the fiber optics is good and not so good. One person said 3 weeks without internet noone came out to fix the issue. Another said it was excellent then another killed trees, let dogs out of their yards etc... 😅

Update..I made a complaint with the call before you dig people. They escalated it. Upper mgt from phone company called me & sent out a regional manager. In the meantime, I went to city hall & got copy of property map to prove I had no allotted easements but the last 10 feet or so they could use per property lines. I pushed the point that we were giving them no more room! Good thing because the plan was to come way up with equipment into the front yard! Sebt copy to everyone involved & had one copy in my hand. They ended up doing it another way that didn't involve digging at all! So folks, fight for your property lines!!!!

AT&T destroyed my beautiful lawn 3 times in 2 years. Their installers were uncaring. AT&T didn't care either.

In my country they don't dig underground they use the utility poles.

In the US we have something called trees so we try to avoid utility poles as much as possible.

@@darthsailormoon4831 It depends on the neighborhood. It seems inaccurate to generalize anything about the US, too big and hyper-diverse of a context. I life in a tree-full area by the lake in North Texas and plenty of poles are being used for AT&T fiber (AT&T headquartered here).
