What if our seeds don't generate shinies?
@@KlaviersAnthology your seed changes every time you close and re-open the game. So if for some reason you didn't find any shinies near enough, then restart the game, find your new seed, and check again.

Just wanted to throw in another thanks for these guides. Managed to grab a full suite of fossils, Spiritomb and Palkia in both star and square shiny (yes, I hate myself), and also the Lake Trio as squares. Shaymin, Darkrai, and Arceus are to be done as and when I can be bothered to waste another day! Cheers!
What settings do you use for spirittomb? I want to try rng spirittomb, but have no idea about the setup.
@@jorgeragelle9063 It's been a few weeks, but I've just dug out my notes and it looks like I was going with a delay of 348. I believe that there are 16 NPCs on the route, but that's from memory, I don't have it written down, and ultimately I'm not sure it matters. My tactic was to basically set up my secret base right next to where the Keystone is, and when the frame rolled around, try and leave the base as quick as I could, then exit the Underground and activate Spiritomb ASAP, to avoid all the RNG from the route. For the two shinies I got, one took 5 attempts and the other took 10, but I imagine I got rather lucky, as I had a lot of variance either side of the frames I was trying to hit. I also used a glitch with the autosave to get multiple Spiritomb without having to do the Underground NPC thing again - search for Infinite Dialga on YT, works basically the same. Not sure if it still works in 1.3, though!
This is about a billion times easier and less frustrating than getting Cresselia the other way. Mesprit and Cresselia were both achieved first try.
Btw for anyone confused about numbers, idk why Jefe did it this way, just divide your target frame by 3. If you get a whole number, you're good to go.

@@endlessslumber6026 If i Recall Correctly, as long as you get the timing right, it does not matter anything else that you do. You can fight, you can catch pokemons, fly to other spots, or do whatever. In one of my files i let the shiny cresselia to just roam ramdomily so i just found her on ocasions, and its really fun.
bro thank you i asked for a mesprit guide in the past but i figured id just let them roam nonshiny while i go for the mythicals now u saved the day and this is a clearer place to track the eye than behind cresselia too xDDD

Perfect timing for this! After getting Darkrai, Mesprit was second on my list of legends to go for believe it or not!
It worked! I got shiny Mesprit and Cresselia!
Finally got my two shiny roamers !! I always forgot to uncheck +1 so that cost me some time BUT at the end of the day they're finally mine ! That's one step closer to my all shiny legendaries personal challenge ! Also allowed me to gain thousand of exp and to master the elite 4 and the fearsome Cynthia
BDSP is the first pokemon game i've played since fire red and I'm in love with it, I hunted the normal way a shiny Dialga and needed 16k resets to get it, but with this blinking method got my shiny Rayquaza first time, but I'm having trouble getting Giratina to be shiny, I'm using the timeline button just before entering the room the he is and I enter at 0 and then just wait for the press a frame but I seem to miss the shiny by about 100-120 frames each time, and that is what I give myself for the timeline start. Can I simply reidentify infront on Giratina and just go for the final press A waiting in the room with him?? I'm using the turnback setting, I'm pressing A 84 frames before the target as how the spreadsheet says but I'm still missing the shiny. I would LOVE some help, Giratina is the last shiny legendary I'm hunting and I want to move on to hunt other shiny pokemon. Thanks A LOT for the TON of work you are putting into this and helping people not having to do 16 thousand resets like I had to do for my shiny Dialga. Un abrazo Jefe!
So there's two answers for Giratina:
1st, are you standing RIGHT at the doorway? Any steps taken in that room can cause wild Pokemon advances, so you once you get seed you have to stay put right in the door.
2nd, yes you could Re-ident with 1PK NPC, similar to what's done with Darkrai, if you wanted, right in front of Giratina.

@@PapaJefeYT I'm not sure I was just at the doorway, I might have been a step back, I'll do some attempts tomorrow with the same setup but making sure to be in the doorway. But if that doesn't work I'll try reidentifying with him, I only want to know if I do it like that, with the 1PK NPC, do I just skip using Timeline and just wait for the frame 84 before target? Or do I need to do something else? I'm 1000% joining both the discord and your community on twitch, you'll probably push me to do a whole second run of the game to get a shiny chimchar and all the ramanas park legendaries that I didn't get this first run. ... i hunted them both (Mesprit&Cresselia) on the normal way took me so long sadly i didn't know about the "Blink Method" back then but atleast i could always try this on my secondary account (:

So, for me, I had issues with syncing. The 105 delay was perfect, inside of 1,000 frames
So, I watched your video, and tried this method, I kill creselia, I beat the elite four but i forgot to save before Cynthia. It's okay cause it's not a problem for me to beat again the whole elite four. Anw, I started the blink method, I found my the perfect timing for my creselia, and I tried it. It didn't work and I didn't found the shiny creselia. I reset to beat the elite four all over again but my game saved in my house after I beat Cynthia. And right now I am scared to kill again the creselia and do it all over again cause I kill it once and now i am trapped in my house when I reset, did I accidentally lost my chanse to get the shiny creselia?
You can faint and respawn cresselia as many times as it takes to get it right
I have a question, after the final A press, do i have to keep mashing A until I'm in my room (the credits dont even play)? If I open a menu, does it change anything? want to change my party pokemon but I'm not sure if that alters the frame. I've done it two times and havent got the shiny yet, but I'm suspicious of the opening menu thing. I'm using ther recommended 105 delay on pokefinder.
Was there a guide for Giratina yet? I cannot for the life of me get that boy to shine. I have caught over 10 shiny mons with blink method but can't figure out that one
Make sure you're on the right config. I used config_mtcoronet.
Step 1: Monitor Blinks right in the doorway outside Giratina's Room. Its the third room with a Pillar. Use seed to find Shiny Target Frame.
Step 2: Advance closer to your target frame using the Pokedex, and Reidentify. Repeat until within 200-300 advances.
Step 3: Wait the final amount of advances (1 per second) and at 110 before your Shiny Target Frame, click Start Timeline.
Step 4: Hold up, and then when Timeline hits 0, press B to close your item text box, and walk thru the door.
Step 5: Keep walking up to Giratina, press A once.
Step 6: Do the final A press for Giratina ~84 advances before your Shiny Target Frame.
So for example, if shiny frame is 1000
Start Timeline at 890
Last A Press at 916

Whenever you soft reset, does it change the advances, or does it change the advances required for a shiny?
When you soft reset the game restarts its "random" number generator to determine which frames are shiny, which is why soft resetting without RNG works - but takes a long time, as you're just hoping you run into a shiny frame by chance.
When you're resetting with RNG, you're restarting the "random" number generator, so you need a new Seed and it will have different/new shiny frames than the last seed.
Hello, is it unable to check non-shiny Mespirit's frame?
I put non-shiny Mespirit's data in iv calulator, and it showed i catched it with a very large frame.
I'm not able to check my delay.
Doesn't work for Cresselia.... I have been doing this for 2 weeks and nothing.
Should I skip credits after beating cynthia?

You're good to go anywhere afterward. it's locked in after you respawn in the house. Good luck, I know It's a pretty slow process

Great video! I've been attempting to get Mesprit by getting the seed outside of its cave then reidentifying inside (there's really no documentation on Mesprit before it roams so I dunno if I'm doing it wrong...). I keep having really inconsistent hits and readjusting delays only results in it jumping backwards or forwards with seemingly no rhyme or reason.
I guess I'm basically asking if this method is more reliable in that sense, since I would be unable to return to hunting Mesprit before it roams if I were to attempt this.
I did roaming mesprit, but it was a while ago. However, I did it with timeline.
You'd need to do a few test runs to confirm, but the general flow was:
1. Seed Outside
2. Scroll and Reidentify to 200-300 advances before.
3. Start Timeline 120 Advances Before Shiny, at 0 walk in cave.
4. Press A to talk to Mesprit 102 Advances Before Shiny
5. Go through the rest of the dialogue, and then go find it.
If I remember correctly, its set immediately upon talking, which was quite different than the rest of the legends.

@@PapaJefeYT Thank you, I finally managed to get it! I moved on to Cresselia however and am having a similar problem; no matter the adjustments I'm always hitting a few frames later.
1 - I use config_secret_base to get my initial seed in the underground with the Y-button view
2 - I exit, head in, stand behind Cresselia, use an item and do my reidentification there using config_mt_coronet and Reident 1 PK NPC
3 - I reidentify until I'm around 200 advances from target.
4 - I mash A on my target frame to get rid of the Rowan textbox and interact with Cresselia.
Unsure if I'm doing anything wrong, but again I'm consistently hitting too late no matter what. After a day of testing 103 delay gives me the most consistency (1 or 2 frames ahead) but I simply can't seem to hit. Is it maybe the config? As I noticed there's also a cresselia config but the videos I've watched don't use those.
@@AutummsIt may be a bit too late, but one thing I would suggest to avoid it messing up the delay, is talk to mesprit while your character is aligned straight north, if you are slightly miss aligned at an angle while starting the dialogue i.e mesprit turns to face you it will cause a random advance.
Have any of the cloning glitches or glitches for lots of items been patched if not how do you open the menu even while you’re in the box and things
Yeah it's all been patched unfortunately 😭
All of the cloning glitches have been patched and unfortunately there’s most likely not gonna be a way to clone unless someone gets a breakthrough for a completely new method
Also all cloned Pokemon count as hacked, you cant transfer them to home, idk if you can trade them, but still useless 😭
Hello, papa. I accidentally saved when i shiny hunting mesprit after saw the cut scene. So I found out about this video and did it all day, but I'm asking in the comments because there's a problem. Every time I follow the video, and then I found mesprit is not shiny, and catch and compare on poke finder, the delay is different every time. (like +3, -6, +15)
Is there a solution? or is there anything wrong I'm doing?
Are you adjusting your delay on each attempt? There shouldn't be any interference other than the characters blinking. Its possible to miss due to blinks happening before the flag sets, but it should be relatively consistent. You don't have any other Pokemon roaming right?

@@HyungRaeC You'd adjust your delay to compensate for being off. So for example, if you were +3 late, you'd want to make your delay 3 larger, so you're hitting A three advances earlier.

What do I do when the config opens the eye picture in the preview window? I've tried uninstalling and started from scratch but it did it again? 😅

I have noticed I have a second of a delay from my switch screen to the screen logging the blinks. Once I have the advances number should I just ignore the screen that logs my blinks, and just hit the A button on the number or wait a second then press the A button?

everytime i beat the elite 4 it autosaves and then when i go to my backup its outside my house but autosave is off why is this happening
Yeah so the game just saves when you beat the E4... Which means every time you do this you must fight them again.

Are you able to recatch the mesprit if you released it after catching it with this method? Your description says released just wanted to make sure.
Unfortunately not. Only one capture per save.
When I said released, I meant "released as a roamer" not "released from the boxes"
I'm having issues when setting up the Player Blink software, I'm able to get my capture card to function on OBS and get it into a windowed view but whenever I try to preview the screen it only gives me a frozen image instead of the live footage meant to be shown.
My laptop also doesn't seem to recognize my Capture Card as a connected camera.
Is this something to do with me doing this on a Laptop or something I am doing wrong?
Hope someone can help me out here, would be greatly appreciated!
Are you on Windows 10 or 11?
If you're on Windows 11, try using the setup method in the "Quick Start Guide," included in the folder download.

You put a pokemon with the ability Synchronize at the beginning of your party, and then it will change the nature of Pokemon you encounter to the synchronizers nature.
arceus config works well but other configs dont run. It says "window not found"

Because you won't. That's when you use Reident Min\Max to check 1,000,000 to 2,000,000.
You should only ever be looking at 1 million advances at a time.
Hi I started doing the RNG for mesprit but I missed on my first try to get a shiny, since the save is forced after defeating Cynthia, do I have to defeat Mesprit again or do I just go to the Elite 4 and try again??
You have to keep KO'ing the non-shiny, when you fail

No you absolutely can. Every time you beat the Elite 4 it makes a new Hall of Fame Entry.
The only way to lock yourself out of shiny Mespirit permanently on the save file, is to capture it.

Quick question. So from the video, you fainted the non-shiny Mesprit and was able to find the shiny by hitting the correct frame in the hall of fame (I assume this is the same with Cresselia). I noticed in PokéFinder, the advances where Cresselia and Mesprit are shiny are the same. So if I faint both Mesprit and Cresselia beforehand and then hit the shiny frame on the final A press in the hall of fame, does that mean both roamers will be shiny?
No it won't, they generate sequentially rather than simultaneously. So you'd only get 1 of the 2 shiny, or maybe neither. I'd stick to one at a time.

What capture card to you recommend for this method and do you need both a capture card and webcam for this method since you made a video about doing this method with a webcam
I have an affordable capture card recommendation in the pinned comment.
You only need 1 or the other.
Capture card is easier, because it's a direct feed.
Webcam is possible, but finicky depending on the quality.
Just got my capture card and went through the link and got the pack downloaded, Python is set up however when I click install it tells me that it could not open requirements file, any fix for this issue?
@@andrewjones6583you need to extract the BDSP folder. You can't run it inside the .zip

I know this was a long time ago, but you don't have to do any of that. Divide the target frame by 3. If you get a whole number, you can proceed.

Nope just a regular old Switch, and either a capture card or a webcam. Check my other videos, there's one where I get a shiny Palkia just pointing a crappy webcam at my switch screen.

The IVs don't. Only the nature can be changed with synch
