- I get so many different types of wild birds that come to my backyard because I have the correct bird feeder and bird food for the birds in my area. Wild birds have their own preferences and will only return to a bird feeder if the right food is put out and it feels safe in the yard. In this video, I go over the different types and best backyard bird feeders I use, the food I put in to attract wild backyard birds, and how to get birds to notice your bird feeders. I get so many birds eating from my bird feeders. Knowing which type of bird feeder and bird food to use will encourage more birds to come to your backyard. The types of bird feeders I use are Tube Feeders, Suet Feeders, Thistle Feeders, Peanut Feeders, Sunflower Seed Feeders, and Jelly Feeders. I fill the bird feeders with a mixture of different seeds, including Black-oil Sunflower Seeds, Thistle Seeds, Suet, Grape Jelly, and shelled peanuts. This quick video will show how to get birds to notice your bird feeders in your backyard and what birds will use that kind of bird feeder. I quickly talk about how to choose a bird feeder right for your backyard.
Birds shown in this video are Mourning Doves, Black-capped Chickadees, Blue Jays, American Robins, House Sparrows, House Finches, American Goldfinches, Brown-headed Cowbirds, Red-winged Blackbirds, Northern Cardinals, Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, Common Grackles, Downy Woodpeckers, White-breasted Nuthatches, Red-bellied Woodpeckers, Dark-eyed Juncos, American Tree Sparrows, Baltimore Orioles, and a Gray Catbird.
This was the first video on this UA-cam channel that I had narrated. I hope you enjoyed the video and found it helpful.

I got a simple suet feeder and it’s always a joy and gives me a feeling of hope when I see a bird pecking away. After the two trees nearby me that became a hotspot for birds came down from a heavy storm, I lamented of the idea of birds no longer appearing at my area, so it makes me happy when birds actually do appear.
Neat! many birds die during the winter without food...
great video thanks
Great video, thank you! I've bought lots of junk feeders that the birds can't use!! this is informative and helpful thank you again
Thanks for the video! I have just recently got a wire mesh feeder with black oil sunflower seeds. also have a thin mesh feeder with Nyjer and a suet feeder. In the back I have a squirrel proof feeder with some generic bird seed with cracked corn and millet/sunflower seed. Lots of good birds! Such fun watching!

Thank you.
You're the one that identified my bird that I raised after a dog injury. The Eurasian collared dove. She finally went outside but she's with me everyday outside and has nine friends including mom and dad. I don't think I've seen them leave for the winter. She acts like she wants to come in the house again. Are they okay through the winter in Arkansas. Our Winters are pretty mild like 32° to 50 °?? I'm thinking about building something so she can come in and out my upstairs window. She follows me everywhere outside.
Also I read that their lifespan is a year and a half and I am not believing that because she's two and a half now.
How do you keep them away from squirrels?
They can jump 4' from the ground and from trees. I set my post 6' away and put a slinking around the post. They can still get around the slinky, but it's been working so far.
