YESSSSSSS!
Something I love about Emmy is that she never acts above anything she tries. She is so respectful and never yucks someone else’s yums. She is a really great role model.
Yucking someone else's yums doesn't exactly refer to food. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@Author.Noelle.Alexandria it can!
Aussie here - can confirm that chicken salt is ingrained in our DNA. But it's used in place of regular salt, which is probably why you found it so salty adding to your already salted fries. Also, you wouldn't usually find it at our McDonald's. It's most commonly found at fish and chip shops.
Came here to comment that we Aussies use it INSTEAD of salt. Then I see that someone else already had done so. Love your work!
Also, chicken salt is seasoned salt (celery, onion, garlic, etc) originally designed to use ON chicken, it isn't chicken flavoured and does not contain chicken bullion or stock powder.
It also doesn’t usually contain MSG! Even us Aussies have been conditioned to the fear mongering amongst the dreaded food additive.
My local maccas added the chicken salt shaker part to my order Friday night. I had previously no idea that it was available in Aussie maccas.
@@teffala absolutely, I was expecting the classic chicken salt flavour I get from the local chip shop I had when I as a kid... but I was so dissapointed.. in all honesty it was so bad I gagged

yeah Emmy takes a fast food car vlog to the next level
I love how you can see the seagulls in the McDonalds parking lot. Such a genuine New England Mc Donald's experience 😂
I got vibes of Texas grackles. What would we do without wise birds?
I’m from Connecticut, recently moved to Pennsylvania. Seeing & hearing the seagulls makes me homesick. 😔 I miss those crazy little scavengers that will eat anything...
We had them at McDonald’s in Alberta, Canada too when I lived there. That’s veeeeerry far from the sea
When the McRib first came out, many moons ago, an employee told me the sauce was Bull’s Eye BBQ sauce. They’re soooo good. But, I haven’t had one in years. Now, the they’re back I’ll make it a point to go get one. I live in Mass. and there’s always seagulls in the parking lot adjacent to McDonald’s....the ocean in about 30 mins away!! Those fries Emmy’s eating, I have never heard of!!
So true!!
Emmy's really filming a remake of "The birds".
I thought that too, the seagulls in the background really add to the fastfood restaurant ambiance

It might just be me, but it seems like every McDonald's within 50 miles of the ocean on the east coast of the US is a seagull family cookout. I once saw about two dozen seagulls in a McD's parking lot fighting over what looked like pieces of a whole Big Mac. I have no idea how they got it... they had fries, too.
I noticed that too
u can see one of the birds poop yummyyyy
That was a good movie :)
that's what I was thinking !
I've always imagined the McRib to taste like the rib sandwiches in the school cafeteria.
That's about it, just slightly jazzed up.
Pretty much
Yeah you’d be pretty much right
Wait your cafeteria actually cooked?
YEP🤣
Why don’t we ever get fun shaker salts in the US? 😭
I don't remember any shaker fries ever being sold in the USA McDonald's. Even that last one with chocolate sauce was in Japan. They don't even sell chili or cheese topped fries in the U.S.
Because fast food in the USA sucks
Because they follow their specialized test markets and probably did the bean counting showing that it’s not profitable or worth the effort.
Alas, it would be cool to get some packets to try. Imagine if we had our own flavors that other markets didn’t have, like roast beef or something to that effect. Not fair, honestly.
I would open a food truck there's nothing but french fries and different shaker salts
@@CallieMasters5000 Five Guys has a special shaker salt for their fries. And most fast food places sell chili cheese fries, which you can request without the chili.
The chicken salt isn't actually chicken flavoured. It's a bunch of stuff together in a seasoning that was originally used to season chargrilled chickens in lots of takeaways here in Australia. Some bright spark got the idea to season chips with them and boom. Delicious. I love having chicken salt on my fish and chips by the way!
EDIT: The McDonalds Chicken Salt may be different from regular, generic chicken salt.
A bloke in South Australia that owned a poultry farm and factory and there was a small takeaway shop attached. His family (either daughters or sisters) would fry up chips and a few other items and he would make the rotisserie chickens. He got bored of using plain salt and pepper so he experimented and made that tasty golden powder THEN someone local asked him to put the powder on EVERYTHING he bought, that guy was an even higher genius! This was in the mid or late 60's.

Sea gulls . They know where the food is

We love McRibs here.. Off season when we cant get one, if you get the frozen meat balls at the grocery store, add them in a crock pot with baby ray's BBQ sauce and then add them to a sub with onions and pickles, its the same thing.
Add a little feta cheese - AMAZING! I just make mine in a bowl in the microwave.
Hello 👋 how are you doing
I slobbered all over myself when you were eating the mcrib. Its one of my favorites. And now I'm going to go get one. 😆
I thought you said “in the McWest” and nearly spat my drink out hahaha
I tried the mcrib a few days after watching this video. I've always wanted to try it, like for probably 20 years, I hated it! I think if the sauce tasted better, different roll, more pickles, or even the onions they use for the cheeseburger instead of raw would maybe help. Im glad I FINALLY tried it and I cant stop craving it! Lol. I was let down, I took two bites and went back in and got a big Mac and was fine!

I luv McRib sandwiches. Had my first, of hopefully many this season, just yesterday. I agree that it needs the onion but especially the pickles. When I eat it, at home, I add more pickles. I have chicken salt, at home, too but I've never tried it. Next time I get fries, I will! I bought it on Amazon.
Restructured meat dates back far before the McRib- heck, SPAM is technically a restructured meat as are nearly all deli meats and most fish patties.

You can buy chicken salt in various container sizes here in New Zealand at supermarkets. A lot of places you can also get chicken and chips with chicken salt as an option on the chips. Hey Emmy I don't know if you were aware but in many English speaking places (including Australia and the UK), the word you used beginning with "S" at around the 5:45-5:47 mark is considered an ableist slur, used in a derogatory way against people that are living with intellectual disabilities and chronic health conditions such as epilepsy. I know you are super kind and loving and so I just thought I'd let you know just in case you weren't aware already. ❤️
I actually laughed when she used it, she mustn’t know
I heard that McDonalds releases the McRib When pork prices are down, and take it back off the menu when pork prices are back up.
Yeah, at least thats how it started. Pork prices were down and either the pork industry or McDonalds came up with the item in response. I assume thats still the case and why it's seasonal.
Here in Germany it always stays on the menu regardless of the pork prices. I wonder why
Also, it's a good marketing ploy.
@@ReinerIsDaddy Cause germans are addicted to pork ?
@@sonogabri1 Rather because pork is extremely cheap here. It is cheaper than any other meat in Germany. So the beef for the burger patties is probably much more expensive eventhough they are all sold for around 4-6€ as well.

Wow, McRib origins going all the way back to the 80’s? As an 80’s baby and growing up in SoCal, I remember my first McRib experience due to it being used as a promotional tie-in with the Live-Action Flintstones film from the early 90’s. I loved it as a kid just because it was different from the usual offerings at McDonalds, but my other Elder Millennial friends get quite excited whenever it makes its brief return to the menu.
I don't know of its true, but I've heard that the mcrib sandwich is always a limited edition since the 1980s because ultimately McDonald's doesn't have the food chain supply to continuously fulfill the amount pork that would be needed for it to be a permanent menu item in the US.
I think it's hilarious Emmy and I both had our first McRibs this month.
It is pretty stinkin' good btw. It does need the onion and pickle to cut through that intense BBQ sauce though!

I WAS LITERALLY JUST NOW CONTEMPLATING TRYING A MCRIB LIKE AN HOUR AGO IN THE DRIVE THRU! I've never had one before and still haven't yet.
Years ago, like 13, at Burger King there was a shake seasoning for fries. I think it was only in certain areas. Out of anything that disappeared on menus that was the one I miss the most.

“Don’t forget to drink your water.” :P
Hey emmy! Not sure if anyone's already shared, or if it's interesting to anyone else, but originally chicken salt was developed as a coating for roasted chickens sold in the state of South Australia. It was originally made from onion powder, garlic powder, celery salt, paprika, chicken bouillon and monosodium glutamate, with some curry powder added to give it its distinctive yellow colour. Chef Adam Liaw wrote an article encapsulating its brief history, and a joke about a school friend of his who used to tell people that her dad had invented chicken salt. In the end, it turned out she hadn't been lying! As other commenters have said, I think nowadays it's used to season hot chips/fries, and alas, one of the companies who helped pioneer its mass-production, Mitani, no longer adds MSG to their recipe. If you got your hands on some different brands, or tried making your own chicken salt some time, it'd be fascinating to compare the difference in taste!

Did you know that natural sources of MSG are usually things like seaweed that's really healthy for you maybe we're automatically programmed to go yummy at MSG because of it
Ssme with vine ripened tomatoes
Iirc those natural sources are other glutamates, not specifically monosodium glutamate. But given that msg works by lacerating your tastebuds I'm happy to avoid it - also my wife is allergic to it, which is a real pain for eating at certain restaurants, as it's usually not removable as it's in the premade sauces etc.
@@TheErador interesting. But it doesn't change the fact that the sources of those other glutamates are nutritious and that is likely why glutamates are yummy.
