I’m 17 and I sport Sergio Tacchini tracksuits. Mostly because of the rappers that wore it. By the way I came here to pay my respects as DJ Clark Kent has unfortunately passed away yesterday.
Back in the mid-80's the designer names that sprung to life were worn by tennis players and skiers like Bally, Gucci, Diadora, Fila, Ellesse, Tacchini to name a few. I remember buying tennis and ski magazines just to see the advertisements. Tacchini was big in the NYC streets but I did see Ellesse and Diadora much more. If your money was good you had Bally shoes and wore silk shirts and silk pants. If you had Gucci 1984 sneakers you had a track suit to go with it. Those were the days. Now guys like to dress like sissies.
I’m from nyc and on top of that I’m 17 and I wear a lot of tracksuits including Fila and Sergio Tacchini. I’ve done my research on these brands. ST was HUGE!! In NYC in the late 80s and early 90s. Same with brands like Troop, Gucci, Fila etc. and I can’t forget Dapper Dan as well as The Shirt Kings
