I've actually got asked that before by some guys and then I told them and then they come back a little later saying, "It worked, thanks! You're awesome!" I'm like, "Glad I could help..."

I just want to mark this moment... An explanation is in order... Back in February (2015) I began crocheting a granny-square, 1-Up Mushroom baby blanket for some friends of mine... Being a Nerdfighter (circa 3 years ago-ish), I decided the best thing to do while I worked on this blanket was to go back and watch Vlogbrothers videos from the very beginning... back in the 2.0 days... I watched and listened to a lot of other things too (sooo many Ear Biscuits)... and there were chunks of time that I was busy with other things (like my dissertation) and couldn't work on the blanket... and to be completely honest, the baby was born a month ago (I suck at deadlines)... but I DID IT!!! IT'S DONE!!! It only took me 6 MONTHS and it's FINALLY DONE!!! And I finished it while watching THIS video!!! 324, 2.5" squares that, when put together, look like an 8-Bit, 1-Up Mushroom that will soon belong to a Made of Awesome Nerd Baby - undoubtedly the most ambitious crochet project I've ever done... and I figured that, since the Nerdfighter community was with me through the making of this blanket, Nerdfighters were the best people with whom to share it's completion (and, soon, I'll also share the news with Nerd Baby's parents - they know about it and have seen parts of it). Thanks John and Hank and Nerdfighters, for all the positive Nerd Energy that you imparted to me via vintage Vlogbrothers videos while I worked on this - I'm undoubtedly sure some of it soaked into the blanket and will, logically, be passed on to Nerd Baby!! DFTBA!!!

John, in 5th grade myself and the others in my Accelerated Math class had to do a work sheet to see the multiples of numbers with calculators. My teacher said that she was sorry it was so boring, but we were having a blast calculating the numbers and getting the answers. So yes John, I am definitely into nerd fun.

I have not done that. I also had a friend who was stupid enough to ask a girl that question when he was actually interested in asking out another girl. The only time IMO this is an ok question to ask a girl is when A) you are actually interested in the girl B) the girl is already in a relationship and/or it is crystal clear that you are just friends (which from the movies I've watched seems to only be possible when one of you is gay), or C) the girl you ask advice from is your mom.
