BRAND NEW BLEGH MERCH! ohrionapparel.com
I've always loved Testament more than Metallica, Slayer, and the rest of the big 4. To me Testament are the pinnacle of gritty 90s thrash metal.
I do like Testament a lot better than Metallica but neck and neck with Slayer but I really love Flotsam and Jetsam
I totally agree. They Should be among the the big 4
i agree 100% on testament being better than metallica, but i definetly do not think they are better than slayer
Couldn't agree more favorite band
Testament is legendary with great classic albums (1987) The Legacy, The new order, Practice what you preach, Souls of Black, The Ritual, Low, The Demonic, and The Gathering. These are the pre-2000's metal.
"Low" was my introduction when it came out and I played the hell of it.
@@JoshBratton My buddy James played guitar on Low!
the formation of damnation is also damn good.
@@kimchi2780 James Murphy is AWESOME and was a great replacement when Alex left!
Saw them live a few months ago with Death Angel and Exodus. All legendary bands from the 80s and let me tell yah, age is just a number. These guys still are going as hard as when they were young back when they started. Showing more appreciation to our founding fathers and pioneers is always wonderful to see:)
P.S before anyone calls me out for sounding like some old crone, im 21 ,:D
Haha love that dude! Its good to see the young guys loving the classic stuff. Im 30 myself. I like all kinds of genres. Hoping to get Ohrion to check some older things out 1 day
@@chaney22 oh yeah, just with the perspective of time, I was very very early to explore all genres of metal because of sheer curiosity. When ever I heard a name of a band more than a few times, I knew I had to take a look. In fact it was the beginning of this very year that I jumped back into the "core" genres after basically being an elitist for about 4 years. I was completely unaware of the sheer amount of variety, creativity and writing prowess I was basically casting aside. Specifically with Metalcore cause ive always loved Deathcore. Im someone who truly appreciates love and passion for music and when I hear the huge amount of bands these days giving it there all into their writting, I cant help but be drawn in, and all ive been listeing to regularly this year is Metalcore and Deathcore. Sorry for the long read ,:D. Cheers mate :)
@@uniservicemann3186 haha all good dude. Never been an elitist. How i see anything is that if you enjoy it. Cool if not. Oh well. On to the next lol.
All 3 bands killed it at the show I saw. I was really impressed.
Same boat dude - I’m 22
When I hear someone mention 80s music Testament is what I think of.
They ARE Legend, and for good reason. Absolutely consistantly awesome. Personally I love Demonic, not all testament fans did because it has a very different sound, and in my opinion has aged the best. Check that album out from beginning to end.
The Gathering - Testament is an amazing album. Dave Lombardo drums on it are ridiculous.
Top 10 metal albums of all time!!
@@mjolnir3504 It's bangers front to back.
Let’s just put it this way….. Chuck Billy lead vocalist is old enough to be a Grandfather…. 60 years old and still send’n it! 🤘🏼
As far as thrash goes these guys are probably the best
Testament are some of the GOATs of thrash and super consistent, seem to be still firing at all cylinders and changing it up at the same time. It's not easy to do thrash well, can get old really fast but they're one of the exceptions. I love me Thrash done well, which is why it's cool too see some metal core, death core and hardcore groups incorporate thrash into a modern setting, but some classics can still bring it!
For a different Testament, at their peak to me, and the most magnificent ballad ever done, "Trail of Tears" from 1994's "Low" album.
Being a metalhead and not being familiar with Testament sounds like a total embarrassement.
Gene Hoglan is a beast on drums
THE ATOMIC CLOCK!!!
I saw Gene play with Testament and Slayer in the same night. That man is inhuman.
@Ohrion Reacts Great video! Thanks for reacting to the legendary thrash metal band Testament!
FYI the guitarist Alex Skolnick is also in Trans Siberian Orchestra.
I love when people are sentencing before judging.
These guys go hard!!! So the lead singer is Chuck Billy. The screamer is Eric Petterson. Who also has a side project called Dragonlord with fellow bandmate Steve Di Giorgio of Testament. Their 2018 album Dominion had Alex Bent (Trivium) do drums for them. It's symphonic black metal. So may have to get you a taste of that as well lol
Is Eric screaming in Testament recent? Because in the songs I've heard, it was just Chuck and his belting, thrashy yells.
@@LaughingSkull451 yes its Eric screaming
@@chaney22 has he been doing it in Testament recently though?
@@LaughingSkull451 well im not entirely sure. I know with this track yes. I would have to refresh my memory on them
@@LaughingSkull451 That's Eric doing the higher pitched black metal vocals in Night of the Witch. Eric is also clearly shown in THIS video doing his black metal vocals.
All people into metal should familiarize themselves with Testament, treasure everywhere.
Everytime someone discovers testament for the first time a demon gets its horns🤘😈🤘
eric peterson formed dragonlord.......supergroup....hard to believe its been 20 years since sins id allegiance
Thy hath relearned what it means to be a legend in metal today.
Yes, they are ours...Bay Fucking Area...we invented thrash
Yoo my uncle is chuck billy thank you for checking out his music 😁
That's Gene Hoglan on drums here.
Dog faced gods! Yeah!!
Testament are legends. Anyone who listens to true metal know that.
There are the best all-around band on the f****** planet in everything
Legends confirmed. 🤘🏼
In the 80s I was all about Metallica and Megadeth. After 1991 Testament in my opinion took over the big 4
Cool reaction Testament are still awesome amazing friend
TESTAMENT so f'n legandary nobody wanted to know about them.
yes...😚
Old school shit is better than new bullshit
Best album catalog IMO.
Try Souls of Black by them. Corrosion of Conformity Albatross or Clean my Wounds would also be an interesting choice for you.
Older Testament is very old Metallica-ish
After they reformed with original members they went more melodeath and heavy thrash
Welcome to the madness kid. Lololol
Underrated thrash band but right there with slayer!!!
How are you a metalhead and don't know the classics?
Just not my speed, bro 🤷♂️
eric peterson.....god dragonlord was so good
Bro That’s BFMV When there old! 😂😂😂
"Old as Dirt" Testament whoops the ass of all the new Gaycore y'all listen to today hahahaha 😎🤘🖤🔥💯🎸☠️
"apparently"
Sorry about your papa great band
WAW TESTAMENT THE REAL THRASH METAL BAND 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Testament are legends!!!!
Only song of theirs I know is Noght of the Witch and I thought it was decent. Never been a big thrash guy either but this was alright.
Dude there's alot of amazing thrash.
reaction videos by people who were not even born yet during there prime it's pretty hilarious stuff
Metallica has been a land of disappointment for the last 30 years, with a couple minor flashes. Testament and Death Angel, however, have been consistently great, and just keep getting better.
Check out low by them
Man’s needs to listen to some Exodus.
i second this, plus Overkill
They never calmed down with age thank God they got heavier with age harder faster yes then Metallica who I loved 1st 4 albums and none till Hardwired to self destruct
Dude it's testament one of the greatest trashbands ever
