I get "casa da avó" vibes and that's really cool. It's a really Portuguese thing that most kids will go to their grandfather's houses in the summer and from the blinds to the couches everything is the same. I can almost smell that house and tell what type of cutlery they have

Nice property... be careful planting willow trees... they are really beautiful but they drink a lot of water and thier root systems can be pretty invasive to plumbing... Thanks for the video!

Willows love water and there roots seek out septic and water pipes so be sure to plant far away from any plumbing to prevent clogging and breakage.

Thanks. I did actually film one for an agent yesterday that I'm in the process of editing now. It's an equestrian farm and hotel property but it's 600k.
Most of the videos I do are for private buyers and they don't go publicly on UA-cam, but I will see if I can do more cheaper ones for the viewers too.
I think the cheaper properties are selling so quickly at the moment, that the agents don't want to sit all day waiting for me to film.
I enjoy your videos as you get to the point and are well organized. Too bad you couldn't open the cupboards in the bedroom to see the size. I like the fact that you pint out issues &/or potential problems when you show properties.

@@sarab3960 I thought it was in Santarem, that what the title it says, I've googled it and it is not in Santarem. I hope they will modify the Title to reflect that as it's misleading. I am not willing to pay that much for a second residence. Thank you for your prompt response.
Salvaterra de Magos is in the Santarem district. This property is only 1 hour from the centre of Lisbon.

Very nice, but I didn't see a refrigerator in the kitchen, unless I missed it.
I just rewatched and also did not see a fridge in the main house kitchen. There is one in the annex kitchen, and a better cooker, so it makes me wonder if that's the one they use as the main kitchen.
It's common to have two kitchens in Portugal, one for every day use and another for show. We're in the US and my mom had an upstairs kitchen and a basement kitchen where she cooked to her heart's content without messing up the nice kitchen. It's mostly a generational thing. 🇵🇹

I just wonder why they placed a washer in the kitchen? I’d understand if spaces were limited but that’s a big house. It could easily accommodate a proper laundry room. I confess that I watched this video in a hurry so if I missed a laundry room someone, my apologies.
I'm not sure. Perhaps it was just easier to have the laundry near the bedrooms and wardrobes.

This is not a unique situation. I’ve seen lots of houses there, as we are house hunting, same scenario. I guess we are spoiled here in the US 😀. My husband and I are in the process of purchasing a home in Portugal. He’s in Albufeira right now. Take care.

Could you note in your videos the availability of internet with speed? In today's world it allows quick communication with family.
Internet speeds can vary from house to house on the same street, so it's not really possible for me to give this information when I arrive at a property for only a couple of hours filming. Having said that, Portugal.has excellent Internet in all of the cities, towns, and villages now. I live on a farm and I have 1 gigabit Internet. They recently laid fibre optic cable to my rural property.
The best thing to do is ask the agent for the address and then phone the service provider..they can look in their system and tell you what is available
How is the main home heated in the winter?
It has been a few weeks since we filmed this property, but I remember that it has air-conditioning in the rooms for heating and cooling as, well as a fire place in the kitchen.

They have two kitchens. The other kitchen that looks like it gets the most use is in the annex opposite the pool.
I think this was used as a holiday home, and in the summer months they maybe preferred to cook in an outside kitchen to keep hot air out of the living house.
I've seen a lot of properties with second or outdoor summer kitchens.
I am just assuming this of course, but it makes the most sense.

I agree the price is expensive given that it's not in Santarem but rather almost an hour away (45 minutes) according to Google Map Portugal.
Santarem is the district that this property is located in. The price is competitive considering this property is only 1 hour from the city centre of Lisbon
The power pole with that dimension is the „killer“. Necessary but not in „my“ garden.
This is way too low..you have plenty of space..guest accommodation or B+B and so much more. Very awesome tour Ken..love this whole space. I'd offer around €295.
House has crack in few places, everything is old and we might have to replace or renovate, You said strange several times, Gena is happy with the patio and the clean neighborhood but not much on the house itself last but not least broker is adamant showing you another property… with all that honesty I think this house is not worth the cost they expect and it’s not worth buying and then spending another 100k for renovation.
