FUEL Series 30 Min TEMPO - Shoulders, Chest & Triceps Workout | Day 27

- It’s all about the slow eccentric (controlling the negative portion), followed by a faster, almost explosive tempo on the concentric (lifting portion)!
The timer will be on for the majority of the workout 40 seconds of work with 20 seconds of rest in between each set!
The dumbbells I am using for your reference are 2 x 15kg for the chest at the beginning. I then use 2 x 8kg and 2 x 4kg for the shoulders and triceps
I also use 1 x 8kg for the finisher sets!
On-screen during the rest period it will clearly say what weight I am using if I have changed it since the last set! It is also detailed below just for your reference!

You will appreciate the dynamics involved within the staple and an opportunity to not only perform bodyweight but also increase the heart rate that bit more!
Overall this workout is a hypertrophy workout with the focus on increasing time under tension during the eccentric (lowering) phase to promote increased strength, stability, control of joints and stronger connecting tissues…. all with a dynamic staple in between!

Day 27 DONE!!! My shoulders are definitely burning, but in the best way possible. Challenged myself with heavier weights today and I am really glad I did. Caroline is helping all of us achieve more confidence and assurance in our abilities. Great job everyone!!

Tricep push-ups are one of the hardest things for me. Today I was able top do EVERY tricep pushup on my toes!!! Thank you for making us all stronger every day!
This was so interesting!! I loved the tempo focus of this workout! I also noticed during the staple, that thanks to the "rest" the 'walk outs' gave to my arms, I could do every rep of the tricep pushups (I did not collapse lol). I got better at them. And basically everything else. Thanks to you, Caroline! ☺️

You know, what I would love? Another Callisthenics/bodyweight series. Just a 1-week program for those vacations during summer where we do not have access to a gym, but want to keep working out! 🏋

Every CG series is unique and well constructed making it so difficult to choose your favorite..its EPIC HEAT no..no wait it's Iron no stop EPIC endgame was so much challenging and fun...its got to be Fuel ..no Iron....This is what is going on in my brain in the middle of the night. Bottom line is every CG series is magnificent ! Thank you Caroline for changing the way I see strength training and making me fall in love with it💕

Yay triceps are involved for the staple! I can't do tricep push up yet so I will use the staple to practise it (without the walking out). Happy to see things I can't do yet included in the sets - more time for practice! 😊
Morning Renee...that’s brilliant that you get a chance to practice tricep push ups! My advice would be to really focus on the lowering part of the push up under control. Stop at the bottom if you need to...then really focus and try to push back up. Suddenly you’ll manage it...and once you’ve done one you’ll never look back! Good luck...and have fun! You should feel so proud of all your achievements! Matthew

I got an advice from here too the other day - do the negative & when going up, do the knee version, so I'm currently doing that 😊 I quite like the sensation I feel when focusing & pushing back up! Can't wait to progress to do the full version like you described and also play with tempo.
I’m right there with you Renee!!! I cut out the walk out part and also had to do tricep push-ups on my knees, but we will get stronger in time!!

I have a feeling that my progress was slow. But today that progress was almost visible, not only that I feel much stronger, some exercises that were almost mission impossible, are now "just" harder then others. I feel so good about myself, today is definitely EPIC T-shirt day!

Fantastic arm session!~ Towards the end the 2 short walks to the tricep push up was a little vacay! I felt trembly arms with the delta flies and lateral raises. Girvanators I think this will be another favorite! Thank you Caroline for a brilliant workout! Tough, fun, varied and sweaty!

Morning Trish it was just a brilliant work out. Super intense and so demanding on those muscles. They were sizzling as I could feel the heat from them 🥵🥵 loved the change in tempos too and all exercises ran into each other. I have finally mastered the tricep push up (not perfect) but now able to do off the knees and elbows in💪💪 yes we are getting stronger. Finisher was great loved the sprawl into d/b. Add on done too but was very tough. Dropped to lighter weight so managed it✅ another brilliant session

DAY 27 FUEL SERIES - Tempo Upper Body done! ✅
The staple is such my fav! Walk out to tricep push ups, I was crawling so fast lol love it really!!! And my triceps were burning throughout!!! Made my upper body feeling so sore!

This is my favourite upper body workout in the Fuel series. Control, explosive controlled tempo. Great workout. I started with 2x15kg Dumbbells for the Chest presses, dropped to 2x12.5kg Dumbbells for the Diamond presses. 9kg Dumbbells for the Shoulder presses and the Frontal raises. 2x5kg Dumbbells for the rest. And what a great finisher, wow, went with a 9kg Dumbbell. Absolutely amazing workout. 💖💪🏋
The second time around doing this workout, and it still one of my favourite upper shoulder, chest and triceps workout. And for today, I used 2x15kg Dumbbells, 2x8kg Dumbbells and 2x4kg Dumbbells. Amazing workout great format. Almost done with Fuel, for the second time around, and enjoying the journey. 👊🏾
Another superb workout! I think controlling the negative portion is very beneficial for our ability to focus because it requires us to fully focus on the movement and on our breathing as well and improving in concentration ability, is one thing that I need very much in my life.
Also the mixture of the exercises was wonderful...Thank you very very much 💙

This was FABULOUS!! The staple was pretty tough at the beginning until I was warmed up then got the hang of it and loved the momentum from start to finish. The Finisher was perfect and thank goodness the add on Maker was only 10 minutes! 🌹❤️🌹

I just love tempo training… and this workout didn’t disappoint! Those walk outs got sooo much harder, and the faster reps were a burner. Just as a comparison, this is the first time I’ve burnt the same calories as a leg day (according to my watch that is)! Wow… only 3 to go!!! Have a great Tuesday everyone.

This was a great video to show me that although I still have some way to go, I have come SO FAR! Before Caroline, I could not do a burpee (sprawl) at all! Now I can and keep up. I am gobsmacked at my results to date. I will finish this series and start another. Thank you!

Time training is always very tiring.... My dumbbells seemed boulders😰.... I used 12.5. 7.5 and 4 kg .... Despite it being an upper body my HR kept been high.... What a sweat! My add-on: maker + 20 min trembling triceps... Tks Caroline, great upper body session!!!! Have a lovely day community! 🌞🤗

Let’s go! Yesterdays was absolute fire 🔥 🔥🔥 for my legs . I’m looking to match the burn for my upper body and I don’t think Caroline will disappoint me today. I’m loving all the mini spurts of cardio throughout these workouts. My sprawls and burpees are improving and I don’t fear them as often as before!! The mini breaks in between are now becoming bearable instead of ‘what was Caroline thinking?!’ 🤣🤣

Great tip for the staple: squeeze your glutes before you’re about to perform a tricep push ups, it helps so much with form and pushing yourself up again😃

That was a special wee workout, ticked all the boxes. Used 20s 10s and 7.5kg DBs. Diamonds were challenging as were the dips today to be fair. The finisher with the 10 was tough enough, my car I'm sure wasn't driving in a straight line but all done and feeling pumped 🙌

I love tempo training .the accentric and dynamic after this were incredible to do. The accentric really allows to have mind -muscle connection under tention &.the staple and the finisher were a killer!🤩 I will revisit it for sure.i also did the add on -with 8 kg and it was very challenging😆

12, 8 and 4. If I needed a symmetrical dumbbell, I added 1 kg, and did only diamond presses in the finisher. Of course, I took breaks to adjust my dumbbells. After yesterday's workout, this one increased my self-esteem. Thank you!

Be warned, she snuck in a set of skullcrushers right before the dips! Wasn’t expecting them since they weren’t on the list. But I’m glad they were there….skullcrushers always hit my triceps hard! Great workout, my arms are feeling good now…sore, but good 😀 I wish I could have slowed down the flys more, but man they were tough!
Yesterday was a killer session and today chest ,triceps and shoulders are going to feel amazing 👏 I'm sore so badly that I can barely walk those rdls and and step ups were really hard...but now I'm going to smash this session 💪 too with full focus and dedication...

@@matthewalmond8274 yes Matthew I really had a great workout 💪 walk out tricep push-ups were my favorite and oh man those slow eccentric shoulder press and lateral raises really killed me.....I controlled my dumbbell during lowering as caroline said and it 🔥 so badly ...really excited for tomorrow's workout I'm scared badly cuz my instinct is saying there would be Bulgarians in tomorrow's session.....have a good day Matthew 😇
