I still prefer the Emming room
amazon sells these really cool workbench kits. they're blow molded plastic legs with slots and screwholes built in for easy building with 2x4's and whatever top material you want for the worktop. i built them from scratch like you last time at my last house. it turned out great and to my expect specs, but it was a lot of work. i later got some for the garage and went husky pre-built. they're also great but a bit pricey since they're higher quality materials for the top and the height adjustable leg system. at my new house i did the amazon kits. it was cheap and easy. you just choose whatever wood top you want (usually MDF), of whatever length/width you want, and just cut the 2x4's up for the legs/supports, and pop the MDF into the top (has a built-in ledge for it to sit in). they also sell a shelf kit for it, which is the same thing, but the legs are smaller, and so you can put them on top of your worktop at the back for a shelf (and a surface to mount a light under to illuminate the worktop.) so while the plastic legs are the only "premade" part you buy, it does all of the work for you and made it stupid easy. i left the MDF unpainted as i knew i'd get that covered in all kinds of crap, but i painted the 2x4's charcoal color and slapped a few bright led strips under the instrument shelf and it turned out great! just for future reference, it might save you some time. it has you put a couple screws in from the bottom to keep the worktop in place (likely for safety), so removing those is all that it takes to replace the entire worktop when you decide your current one is "spent" lol. my homemade one at my last house was so integrated into the structure that it wasn't realistic to replace the worktop. figured it's worth mentioning. the legs were like $80 and the shelf legs were around $30. plus a couple 2x4's and some MDF and deck screws
Depending on how thick the MDF is, might be a good idea to replace it right away too. I'd go with at least some plywood. I might be the only one that ends up with a lot of water on my work tables, for various reasons, but it disintegrates MDF really fast.
Nice setup!
Amazing room🔥🔥
Great work space. Laser cutter build would be nice!
+1 for 9pm coffee - you know you've done some s#!t that day when you feel that hit
laser cutter tutorial yes pls
Thanks for sharing! :) would you mind sharing the 3D printed parts for the drawers separators?, I have the same exact ones! :)
Neat
WHERE LASER CUTTER YOU PROMISED US
Is everyone on UA-cam moving, content creators and viewers alike? You moved, I'm still moving, and at least half the people I watch on YT are moving or have moved. I'm honestly not sure what to make of this.
I'm not sure either, as I've moved twice in the last 7 years. moving is the worst and i don't recommend it lol
@@ame7165 I also don't recommend moving, unless you live in a tiny home, then it might be fun since you wouldn't have to box anything up.
Why spend so much time staining and painting the wooden parts? They look quite rough and also very fragile. The tabletops already have places where the paint chiped right off. If you just oiled it instead it would look much better and keep looking that way for many years.
