    I've seen the reviews and got a recommendation from my brother on his use, so ordered and received the CMMG kit and the bore buddy items just yesterday. I'll clean up the module and get it to a range soon, hoping to enjoy the less costly 22lr in some of my favorite guns!!!

    It is a wonderful piece of kit. To be able to drop that in your AR if something happened to your BCG, or run out of 5.56 ammo. It's is got alot of different uses. GREAT IDEA CMMG! 🤙🏼

      @BoreBuddy does that piece that goes on the charge handle eliminates gas going into the gas system?

    I've had so many jams, FTE, FTF, stove pipe ect. I can't get more than 2 rounds without issues with this CMMG. I will try these accessories from bore buddy and see what happens

      I hear you. I have the same problems with my 15-22. I found that it has a really sensitive diet. No quiets, no subs, no shorts. Good quality LR's seem to cycle pretty reliably.

    Actually, running a bore snake through your barrel will clean it better… But you do you, bro!

    • @PaleoGreenByrd
      @PaleoGreenByrd  5 місяців тому +1

      Yes a bore snake will clean the barrel better than just blowing it out with a .223 or 5.56, but just marginally. The barrel being spotless clean is really not necessary. Your BCG, and trigger assembly being clean and lubed along with a well maintained upper receiver is what keeps you running smooth. Of course you can't just neglect your barrel altogether, but it does not need to be cleaned spotless after every time you shoot. But what you said is correct! Thanks for commenting.

    When converting back from 22LR, do I then need to remove the charging handle insert and buffer tube plug or do I leave that all in? Please explain.

    • @PaleoGreenByrd
      @PaleoGreenByrd  5 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for watching. That's a great question that I should have covered in the video. The charging handle insert reduces gas and powder blow back that you don't really get when you convert back to .223 or 5.56 NATO. You might get a bit here and there when you convert back, depending on how your gas system is tuned, but in .22 conversion mode, you get it almost every shot (without the insert). I would recommend removing it, but I have never left it in, so I can't tell you if it has any adverse effects on the BCG functions. But again, I personally would remove it when converting back to .223 or 5.56.
      As far as the buffer tube plug. I would absolutely remove it when you convert back to .223 or 5.56. The plug secures and reduces the wiggle room of the CCG .22 conversion kit and is fine for .22 because you don't have any gas going through your gas system (which is why you get so much blow back), but when you convert back to .223 or 5.56, you need your buffer tube to function as designed. If you leave the plug in, your buffer spring is not able to work as efficiently as it was designed to do so. You will feel much more recoil, and I'm not positive, but I would assume that it would be harder on your BCG and possibly the gas system (possibly contributing to malfunctions). Bottom line is.. Yes, convert back to your original configuration when converting back from .22 to .223 or 5.56 NATO. Hope this helps.

      You cant leave it in, the gas key will hit it because it goes up in the charging handle, amd if you dont take the buffer plug out, the .223 bcg will not cycle all the way into the buffer tube and will not extract or feed rounds

    Did not work for me. Tried it in two different rifles. The CMMG bolt has a hump that rides inside of the rear cocking lever. The plastic adapter takes up that room and they will not fit if used together, waste of money. Talked to a rep from Borebuddy, he said it should work unless my cocking lever channel is out of spect. .??

    • @PaleoGreenByrd
      @PaleoGreenByrd  4 місяці тому

      Probably not. It might help a a little bit, but the best solution is to experiment with ammo and find what works best for your set up. Cleaner ammo feeds the best. The really waxy ammo tends to have issues.
