Great video as always, love the thought that you put into every mechanic! One small tip for animating 3d models in the players hand in case you don't already know: If you give the item a very high attack cooldown and rotate it such that it looks "active" while it's "inactive", you can get rid of the bobbing when changing models! This make animations way more visible!
the project will be one big datapack and map combo, or a assortment of different modules combined with a map? follow up question: if it could be different datapacks for different features, could they be used tl improve world generation?
An epic video as always. I love the pixel art for the flintlock, it's the perfect amount of pixels to fit in with the rest of minecraft in my opinion. Would be interesting world building/game teaching if the player found a shoddy flintlock first, before even crafting a new one, like from loot. Just an idea. Also, are you going to have bullets or is that unnecessary, would you say?
This is easily the best style of gun I've seen in minecraft tbh, I like the design and how it blends in well with the style of minecraft unlike a lot of guns and making a good use for all that copper. I'm learning how to make guns myself, and currently having trouble figuring out the weapon poses and weapon states. Basically I want to make a dynamic state weapon like the crossbow, where there's a few different states and weapon poses like for example, holding a crossbow one handed to the side when using a shield or simply when not loaded, or being held two handed in the center of the screen when there is no offhand item and has an arrow loaded.
@@DevonsDesk Thanks! I haven't been at it long but I've been having fun at least on the theorycrafting end so far. I need to get more familiar with the technical end of bedrock and how it ties into the assets more.
I'm making this for java edition minecraft, so controller support won't be made available my me. I do know there are some controller mods in java edition that you could personally combine with it? But I'm uninvolved with those projects. Also, this is for a vanilla adventure map! You'll be able to play it just by dropping it into your minecraft saves folder
Tutorial channels like Legitimoose, Cloud Wolf, and Timber Forge are all very helpful! From there, just a lot of trial and error and banging my head on keyboard haha
Amaaaazing feedback from using that gun!
I can't believe I missed the premiere! Awesome video Dev.
No problemo, Appreciate ya, Avid!
i might be australian, but i love guns
Still waiting for fishing minigame

whoa, thats a great tip! I didn't know that, will try that out

It'll be a map! Though I have thought about making datapack modules of some of the features. No promises at the moment though

Currently, I have no plans to add bullets! Things that are more in line with the current game would be upgrades for gun durability/abilities, etc
@@DevonsDesk Lol you could have a gold upgrade that just explodes the player when they use it.
You should make the gun take away your stealth. Since obviously any enemy would hear the gunshot
But what do you do after shooting with the broken wep?
Maybe u can throw the wep dealing less damage than a shot and destroying the item on impact?
Currently, the player will be able to repair the gun at certain checkpoints!
@@DevonsDesk gotcha, I thought it was a craft once and use once kind of deal
A mix of both- the player will be able to repair it sometimes, but more often, they'll still have to ration it
@@DevonsDesk aaahnn I see, yeah, good choice, limiting access to strong weps will force the player to strategize on when to use them

Thanks Shamble! Making weapons has been a new experience for me and pretty fun. I hope your project goes well too

most underated channel, dont know how he gets so little views.
I’m constructed abnormally
I feel like it should have a long cooldown instead of just breaking after one use
Very very cool texturing work! Nice job!
How will controller support be in this mod that's if there's any controller support ig?

Very cool now I’m putting this in my Minecraft RPG cause I can’t make original ideas jk maybe
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
How did you learn to code all of this?

@@DevonsDesk haha, thanks for all the information. I'm looking forward to the developement and eventual release of the rpg!
it's sad that the gun looks down from the side (
Yeahhh, 3rd person player models are difficult to control unfortunately
