- EDIT: Hiya! Once again, transcribing a recent hit track means the video is performing better lol. That being said, if you enjoyed, feel free to drop a like or even sub for similar stuff! I don't have nearly as much free time as I used to, but I still pop out a video every now and then, and I've done plenty of similar stuff already :) thanks for readin'--
Part of me reaaaally wanted to make this a duo, but I know one of the number one complaints on a lot of my arrangements is that they're for two pianos. So here's one for solo piano right off the bat XD but it's difficult!

Volo heard how incredible his descendant's theme was, and he had to copy it ahead of time.
I thought they did a fun job of trying to make her theme a little bit darker/more dramatic
i prefer to think Cynthia borrowed a couple of tricks from her family tree
Tbh her theme is quite dark for a friendly protagonist character. Its more logical that she copied it from Volo though the time travel joke is funny as hell considering that Volo controlled Girantina, the strongest of the creation trio, to create a Space-Time rift
If anything, it's more chaotic sounding, which goes to show Volo's mind state looking for Arceus.
He appositely made Giratina create a space time distortion for it only
Gotta admit, as someone who went in completely blind, this was an awesome twist I didn't expect

I ended up beating volo first try, with one pokemon left, and got killed by giratina turn 1
Before reachibg the top of mt coronet I was like... You are acting weird, please don't tell me you are gonna-

Giratina part was my favourite part I wish I could battle him again

I love how these feels darker and dramatic while Cynthia’s version is menacing and energetic, shows the difference of the context of battles, with Volo you’re basically fighting for your life and the destiny of the world against someone who can even command a legendary Pokémon, while with Cynthia is like you are having the most challenging fight of your life, the biggest fight where the title of the champion, the best trainer on the region is being contended. And both songs complement this so well
For sure! They did a great job of conveying an atmosphere here
For me Volo is way harder that Cynthia

it combines Cynthia's Approach theme & Battle theme

Volo is by far the hardest fight in pokemon history. Even harder than Red, Cynthia or the Gamefreak staff. The guy is breaking future pokemon law/rule by having more than 6 pokemon on him. Its basically a 8vs6. OMG, maybe thats why the law/rule exists in the first place.

realistically, it wouldn't be so hard if it wasn't for the stupid battle gimmick.
When i first heard this theme in legends arceus my heart stopped for a moment and I realized that fighting volo would be a nightmare just after i made fun of his togepi the entire game-

Heyyyy, glad to hear it! Normally I'll throw in a second piano to get it even closer to the actual track, but I'm glad that a solo piano is able to do it justice

@@hamzahkhan4067 I guess I really need to add something to the description, since a couple people have asked. There are one or two parts where you would need to use the sostenuto pedal (which allows you to sustain a single note/chord as opposed to sustaining everything with the damper), but yes, that allows this to be playable solo. Difficult yes, especially with the 10ths, but those can always be brought to the same octave

I'am a pokemon fan since 2006, this series has a lot of defects especially technical, but has 2 things than are totally unmatched in the industry: Designs and Music. This theme isn't just a remix, it has small different parts that describe Volo's condition, mentality and feelings. It's perfect, best ost I've heard since Undertale.
Definitely was fun to hear in the context of what was goin' on in the game, since I can finally say that I HAVE experienced it haha
I think everyone can agree if there's one thing not to worry about pokemon games, it's the music

When you find cynthia's house and you notice a tattered piece of sheet music on the piano simply labeled "the theme"

Cynthia is getting ready to begin her role as champion. She prepares the elite four and looks for that one thing to make her battle feel like a real show to the challenger, to give their journey a worthy end. For inspiration, she looks through her ancestors’ old stuff… she finds sheet music labeled “Ode to Heresy and Divine Ambition…” She plays it on a nearby piano… and gets the feeling…
“This… this will do nicely…”
She makes it to where a speaker plays the music before a fight against a challenger starts, giving it a climactic feel… unknowing of what that climax represented, once upon a time…
Looking back on this masterpiece makes me feel alienated. I had such a hard time w BD and I just beat Volo in 1 try

Welp, printed the sheets and decided to try and play the first 11 measures. Now I'm crying over the facts my hands are small. Nothing a good year of practicing can't fix!
I havent played the piano in 6 years and I could still barely play Fur Elise with both hands but this theme makes me want to pick it back up....

Whoa, good luck then!!! Definitely can change those 10ths in that one section (you know, the one with 10ths XD) to be within the same octave to make it easier to play. I just wanted the low AND high sound haha

I play this on the music shop in my country there's a pinao display outside the store and you can test it. I ended up play this song on the stores piano and the people recognize the music and they recorded me
at 1.25 it's Cynthia's theme. but given Volo is Her ancestor I would assume when She, Cynthia, found this score she played it for herself then realized as she played it how deranged it sounded so she rewritten it to the theme She is known for.
What an unfortunate familial relationship 😭

Actually, a lot of the song is the same tempo as the original! I only slowed down a couple sections (the part with the 10ths in the RH as well as the part directly before the key change, since there are lots of consecutive chords that would be difficult with a slowdown). But I suppose I get it 😅

ohhhh, I gotcha. While there are portions of the actual track that could benefit from different instruments on your piano, it'd be too difficult to switch mid-song, so honestly, piano itself is still a pretty good bet haha

Sostenuto pedal. This allows you to sustain the 6ths in the right hand while jumping down to play the chords, which are not sustained by the pedal
