What I love about Volo and Cynthia is how similar yet different they are. Cynthia's encounter music is intimidating and terrifying while her battle music is energetic and makes you grin despite how difficult she is, Meanwhile Volo's encounter music makes you feel nice when seeing a friend while his battle music is the very definition of threatening. Their both two sides of the same coin

ABSOLUTELY agree with this! But I will say I had a more difficult time beating Volo than I did with Cynthia 😅 and also the feeling of ultimate betrayal from Volo was a huge shock factor so I'll just use that as an excuse for why it took me so many tries to beat him. I really thought he was my bestie. I thought he was sus but also didn't think much of it 😔 ~ S

Yeah this is where it really deviates from Cynthia's theme, but it's probably the best part of the piece.

Yea, I get that it would have been a bit weird for the lore to have Ingo let you refight him, but it would have been fun enough to be worth it. Kamado just doesn't have the same challenge to him...

I didnt realise volo was evil till i saw him standing on spear pillair and when the theme started playing i legit got a chill down my spine and my neck felt cold i legit had my childhood fear of Cynthia re ignited by this
The gradient on the notes is an accurate representation of the player's blood running cold as they realize exactly *what* and *who* they are dealing with! I love it!

It’s technically playable solo, but you’d need to be a virtuoso. More realistic with two pianos / four hands.
@@zLumiNeonz I dont think so, there are multiple octave spanning arpeggios on both sides with chords that span like 15 notes its just not humanly possible to play

I just love that it's a mixture between the approach theme and the main theme, it blends so very well together. The people who wrote the original composition for the game did it in such a wonderful fashion, and hearing someone transcribe it completely into a piano arrangement truly helps bring attention to all parts of the song. Wonderfully done.

Man, I just keep coming back to this. It's so good! When I first heard it in-game right after release, I actually teared up from it, and I still do when listening to your cover. Even though legends Arceus is very rough around the edges, it's my favorite Pokémon game I've played. The characters, lore, unique gameplay, and the amazing music made it an experience I won't forget!
its interesting how in volo's case,his theme has a sort of "hopeful" vibe to it? theres still the menacing parts from cynthia,but its like a positive spin on cynthia's theme
Probably because Volo was normal before he went insane searching for Arceus. As someone on a different video of his theme said, this suits his philosophy pretty good: "If god won't answer me, then the devil will."
