always great, always interesting, thanks!
Fantabulous observation and narration
I definitely remember this from my art-history course. I didn't remember it being so precious. Just goes to show the love of family touches everyone.
Beautiful interpretation many many thanks
I'll watch this video forever just for her voice
foreal hahaha asmr
she sounds so much like my social studies teacher from middle school.. probably why i passed the class was because i could also just listen to her voice all day lmao
She sounds like she needs a damn glass of water
I’ve actually added this video to my unintentional asmr playlist lol
Just think it is important to point out that the famous Tutankhamun was Akhenaten's son.
Which is probably why Tut's reign was so brief, as the hostility towards his fathers monotheism carried over.
Yes i said the same thing
I thought Akhenaten didn’t have any sons?
It's not 100percent fact because we don't have Akhenaten or Nefertiti's dna to prove it.
@@williamkirk7781 We have Tutankhamun's, his father's and his mother's mummies and DNA, but we aren't at all sure that the parents were Akhenaten and Nefertiti respectively. There's also some funny stuff with DNA identification because of the known or possible family in-bred connections. Hint: it may all go back to Yuya, maternal grandfather of Akhenaten, who MAY have also been his paternal granmother's brother... and possibly even Nefertiti's grandfather.
It's hard to understand why Tutankhamun was included among the kings erased from Egyptian records because Tutankhamun restored the traditional gods, so why did the Egyptians try to forget him? No loyalty from the wicked, I suppose.
Thank you for sharing such an interesting video
good short intro
Does the inscription in the right corner state YEAR 1 of their reign? It seems so from the photos I have seen.
This is amazing where in the minds eye was this dreamed up
no mention of the image directly under the sun,was it a cyprus tree ?
What about the hieroglyphics that the two daughters are pointing to? How significant is it to the narrative?
those state who they are. King's daughter, name, daughter of Neferneferuaten Nefertiti,
To be frank, the relief makes me think of how Warframe depicts drawings or stylistic designs of some children. Either way, one of my favorite pieces from ancient Egypt.
i love it 1
What is the symbolism of the Ankhs at the end of the Sunbeams?
Life.
The Sun is giving ank (eternal life) to both of them.
Imagine anyone nowadays portraying their leader in such a domestic, touching way as it is in the famous relief @1:44. Very interesting difference in culture here.
Are their skulls elongated or is only my impression?? 😮 Is there any correlation with the elongated skulls in Peru?
We did address this briefly in the video.
What’s wrong with the 46 (at my time of viewing) people who gave this insightful little video the ‘thumbs down’ ?
Because the presenters get some facts wrong. Not many, but a they do.
Could also be from Christians who think everything that doesn’t praise them should be destroyed. Just look at how much they already have
I'm going through a playlist of AP Art History works and for some reason lots and lots of the videos I've seen so far have a larger amount of dislikes than normal, even on some really small channels which have like 8 likes and 4 dislikes, not even exaggerating. It's really weird, I wouldn't have expected mostly college board approved Art History to be that controversial
What kind of stone is the tablet made of?
It is limestone if I remember correctly.
Beth sounds like shes sick, protect her at all cost T_T
I am happy to report that Beth is fully recovered. She had Laryngitis when we were in Berlin, but she insisted that we not miss the opportunity to record since we were only there for a few days.
@@smarthistory-art-history Thank you very much for the update, I could tell even through Beth's enthusiastic voice, she didnt want to miss it. Love the work you guys have done, I'm always excited to hear them both!
Seven daughters and one son(tut-ankh-amon).
Thank you
Only daughters Tut was not his son
Akhenaten had six daughters with Nefertiti.
Tutankhamun was indeed Akhenaten’s son but with a woman identified as his sister.
Tut had a different mother. She was a maid, I think. Very beautiful too. Tut looks like his mother.
@Celtic girl It was on National Geo...
its really funny yet amazing, a millennia of polytheism in egypt then suddenly a pharaoh made a religious revolution by making the whole Egypt became monotheistic country, such a sudden change in the whole aspects in the life of Egyptian people and government.
It was not sun God Bt it was one true God Allah... All this happened due to prophet yousuf (Joseph)... If u can read Quran read it ... If not then watch documentaries on prophet yousuf
@@princessrose7551 wrong period fella
interesting
Poor Beth I hope she's gotten better since
Happily, she recovered soon after.
Which one is aankesaman
*Ankhesenamun, though at this time she is known as Ankhesenpaaten. She is the small one touching her mother’s ear.
Some have argued that the art style isn’t as much a break as a return of very old styles seen in predynastic sculpture. Makes some sense to me as his motivations were to return Egypt back to older traditions in religion.
Amarna art resembles nothing from Egypt’s predynastic era. Nor was the Aten religion a tradition.
@@rosolinolosciuto3644There’s nothing prediluvian about Egypt. That’s a bunch of nonsense.
Just think their are ppl that are descendants of them ...I wonder are they known
Is the alien in the project blue book interview not black
Akhenaten and Nefertiti were cousins.
He has 3 daughters nefertiti only had 2 of his daughters.
Akhenaten is my new hero.
Pls let me sleep, dont show me how intrestin history
1:00 I can hear cicadas and grasshoppers.
This was recorded in the museum where there were other visitors shuffling about, but no cicadas nor grasshoppers.
That mural evokes me the sound of cicadas and grasshoppers. Egyptians were farmers from the heart.
Umm he doesn't look like he's Holding his daughter he looks like he getting ready to eat her while the other two are trying to arn the mother in distress all he Children look like they were in distress the king and queen oddly don't look human at all either which stands out a lot to me at least that's what I see just by looking at it and not knowing it's true symbolism. Makes more sense when explained but to be honest at first glance that was NOT what I saw at all.
I thought there was 5 daughters
He wanted to promote self truth
This.
Aten was not a new god.
