@Hello Me most tombs were robbed WAY before Islam, or even Jesus. Great Pyramids were robbed in the first intermediate period, which was almost a thousand years BEFORE RAMESSES 2nd. Who came after second period Egypt was conquered by foreigners. Later tombs, of course, were robbed later, but by not much after they were built. In fact by the time Muslims arrived in Egypt, it was already under Romans for 600 years, and before that, colonized by Macedonians, which, in turn, chased Persians away. Yes, Arabs did mistreat a lot of ancient artifacts like using dynamite in archaeology, but so did French, Germans and British. FURTHERMORE, like them or not, current Egyptian rulers are... Egyptians, and elected by Egyptian people after TWO revolutions. Sisi might be corrupt but his cabinet aren't foreign invaders by any stretch of imagination. And yes, 90% of Egyptian locals DNA is just that, native North African. Anywhere from 5-10 are foreign, which is as much as it was during Cleopatra's reign, for example.
Non-invasive technology to record carvings and inscriptions continues to advance. What she's doing now is quite crude optically but she's making the most of it at the computer end of things. So it'll all have to be repeated later if the money can be found. Unfortunately the structure will not remain intact. Paint has survived 3000 years and more in sealed underground tombs, not so much in buildings. These temples were buried under the sand for thousands of years before they were excavated in the 19th century. Now they are exposed to wind-blown sand, day-time heat and night-time cold. The other hazard is religion. When beliefs change, the old stories are suppressed and monuments are defaced. This happened after Akhnaten, and again when the Egyptians were converted to Christianity. The Iconoclasts and Protestants did that in Europe, and the Taliban and ISIS are no lovers of ancient history.

Modern laser scanning with 3d digital modeling would record the surfaces on a 1 millimeter scale, remove the lighting concerns, be much faster, and the results would be easily disseminated as data files on the internet. Scale models of the carved surfaces and even full models of structures could be 3d printed and sold to museum patrons. But, instead, these historians are using photography and manual visual assessments of a 3d surface recorded in a 2d format. Instead of guessing the meaning of a shadow on a flat image, an actual scientific measurement could be used to assess each character of the carvings. The methods used in this video make no sense in the 21st century, and its arguable that, given available alternatives, the method used no longer qualifies as science.

Where did this silly assumption come from; that Ramses II intentionally "erased his predecessor's name"?! What if the temple was initiated in the time of Setti but completed and finished in the time of Ramses and for religious reasons the name borne on the columns had to be that of the ruling Pharoah? I think the only reason why this assumption was made is to put the word "shocking" in the title because this is clickbait.
Everything is within a series of possibilities. We only know what we've been taught. Truth?? There is much hidden from us. The head of the Sphinx? A Lion? The fact that there weren't Enough trees to use as logs to role these huge blocks of granite ?? The fact the the primitive tools known at that time could not have carved with so much precision. Now. Multiply the multitude of pyramids globally. Megaliths? and realise that there could not have been so many artisans to dedicate so many million of man hours to create such works.
@@tonymarti9195 I'm Egyptian living in Egypt, and I'm telling you yes; we can do that given enough pay for it. We are hard workers more than you can imagine given a motivation exists. Mina Haroun Your supposition about Seti could be correct. Seti only held his reign for 11years. We know several of his projects were incomplete, though completed by Rameses who reigned for more than 70 years. But the idea that cartouches were erased and re-functioned is not something merely attributed to Rameses. We know for a fact that Hatshepsut’s, son Thutmose, actively tried to erase all memories of his mother. The same is true for Akhenaten. His statues and temples were destroyed and any mention of him was erased.
Replacing a predecessor's name (not only the fallen in disgrace) with his own was common practice in Ancient Egypt. There is nothing "shocking" or "new" about this. Also, I don't see how someone would need all that tech, 3D stitching, etc to see the erasure marks, because when she had to really verify it, she just went on the scaffold and looked first-hand. Why not doing this in the first place? And... a mirror to reflect the sunlight? I'm pretty sure a decent source of light could be mounted atop the scaffold and directed at will...
Cecil B. Demil research for the movie “The Ten Commandments” revealed that some of the removed carvings was an order from Sethi I (Ramesis father) to remove Moses of the Bible from their history when it was proven he wasn’t the pharaoh’s nephew.

What if the temple was initiated in the time of Setti but completed and finished in the time of Ramses and for religious reasons the name borne on the columns had to be that of the ruling Pharoah?

Everything is within a series of possibilities. We only know what we've been taught. Truth?? There is much hidden from us. The head of the Sphinx? A Lion? Why not use drones to photograph them?
Who's to say that the over writing ends there? There is a lot of support for claims that the constructions in question were not built by the Egyptians.

Is Photoshop really what one would call “special software?”
Put it this way - compared to it's predecessors, yes (I'm going back 30 years here, mind you).
PS was obviously not meant. The 3D imaging software was meant. They only used PS to view the final image. Why try to be stupid, instead of being smart?
@@tritone11 My, you're a nasty character, aren't you? Watch the video again and pay attention to the software being used when that statement was made and what actual words were said.
According to القرءان : Ancient civilization were more than us in number + MORE powerful than us especially in dealing with EARTH.
AND EVERY DAMNED CIVILIZATION STAYS AN EXAMPLE TO THE NEXT Humanities ; SO no civilization can understand the sciences of the civiS before if they commit what ALLAH never forgive : " thinking themselves gods of their life".
I ask ALLAH that he guides us to have a serious look at life , history , work ... destiny.
