But I’ll never forget when this dropped because everyone suddenly couldn’t stop talking about how Eminem was killing those other rappers on tracks like this and “Forever”. This man could be silent and out of the picture for a decade, then as soon as he decided to pop out, he catapults right back to the top. That tells you how legendary and prolific he really is. Don’t get me wrong, Wayne is a goat, but Eminem is on another level which isn’t debatable just bc of the fact that he came into this game before Wayne. Hate when people get all butt hurt and salty when people put Eminem a little bit above Wayne. It’s not hating, it just is what it is. Em came up from the gutter, having to battle, sell cds out of a trunk, and grind for years before getting noticed. Wayne was brought in by Birdman at a super young age. That’s what separates the two. One of them is just stronger and more hungry than the other. Eminem being white also helped build hunger and strength in the beginning bc he felt like he had to prove himself in order to be accepted and respected. Making him work 3 times harder on his craft. They are two different grades of products.

I’m a wee bit older and you are not wrong, but what I think you missed was at this time Wayne was getting ready to go to jail when they wrote this and had just went through a public court battle and lost and also released his own album called rebirth a month before the start of his sentence for a gun charge. em as you said was just coming back…..they were both upset at how the game was treating them at their lowest times. I saw this live at the yankee stadium show with jayz in 2010 and Wayne was serving that sentence at the time in nearby rykers island jail in NYc and got a huge shout out when em played this song mid show. It was similar and also near the same time TI had very publicly gotten sentenced and released a whole album and tv show between sentencing and turning himself in also for a gun charge. It was always my opinion that the bullying imagery in the video was representative of the music industry which em also railed against many times but on that same album in the song 25 to Life.

I’m a wee bit older and you are not wrong, but what I think you missed was at this time Wayne was getting ready to go to jail when they wrote this and had just went through a public court battle and lost and also released his own album called rebirth a month before the start of his sentence for a gun charge. em as you said was just coming back…..they were both upset at how the game was treating them at their lowest times. I saw this live at the yankee stadium show with jayz in 2010 and Wayne was serving that sentence at the time in nearby rykers island jail in NYc and got a huge shout out when em played this song mid show. It was similar and also near the same time TI had very publicly gotten sentenced and released a whole album and tv show between sentencing and turning himself in also for a gun charge. It was always my opinion that the bullying imagery in the video was representative of the music industry which em also railed against many times but on that same album in the song 25 to Life.
Hey Cliff I love how you do things bro! Thought you might be interested in a fun fact about divorce rates. That stat is a little skewed because it includes people who get married 5 or 6 or 12 times. So the actual rate of failed marriage "partners" is quite a bit lower than 60%. (I think it's closer to 35% but it's been a long time since I read about this). It's still high, just not as high as they say.
