Awesome documemtary......right up to the geologist's take on the area.... Quite sad...actually I had to pause it and stop and scratch my head at the statement about the mountains here having been worn down over hundreds of millions of years...wow.!
Dude! You need to make a full length feature documentary. Your work is simply the best I have ever seen for on trail, people profile and conservation focused content. I so wish you had completed your PCT adventure. It would have been the gold standard for PCT VLOGGING content. You are a masterful story teller.
Beautiful film Panda ! Thank you for sharing this ! Thank you for your support, when I hiked it. Your a good friend. This is,one of the most beautiful places in the world.
What a lovely documentary! You have some great high quality footage and it was fun to see places I recognize a d exciting topic see ones I don't. I feel inspired to get back out on the trail and to help preserve it ❤
It's mind-boggling to consider that when these mountains began developing, the most advanced life form on Earth was algae. The Appalachian mountains have silently observed the gradual evolution of life on our planet. If only they could speak, they would share tales of the diverse species that once inhabited their slopes, the passage of time, and the everlasting beauty of nature. It is truly wonderful to walk this trail and have the sense that you are a small part of something much bigger than yourself.
Wow. So good. I dream of thru hiking The AT all the time… I don’t think life will ever allow that to happen, however this…. I can do! I loved every second of this program and really inspired me to change my perspective a bit. Thanks for sharing.
The Foothills Trail is such a special place. This is a lovely documentary. Well done! Thank you to all who made the trail happen, those who maintain it, and to Preston and the folks at Traveling Panda.
I grew up in this area camping with my dad. I have so many good memories from camping at cherry hill and riding the dirt roads the top of white water falls. It’s truly a special place ❤
Thank you for the memories, the first time I thru hiked the foothills trail it still had not been completed. There were sections with no bridges and temporary markings. I have thru hiked it a total of 7 times over the course of 10-15year time span back in the early years as well as enjoyed many short weekend hikes. I will cherish all the wonderful memories this trail and surrounding areas gave me.
Yes I did and again so many incredible memories from seeing wildlife like deer and fox to the many varieties of plants. Only ran into 3 people the entire trip first time out and it was a crew working on the trail half way between sassafras and laurel creek parking area. I was even fortunate enough to spend a day at white water falls when the helicopter placed the bridge in place. Such a wonderful area of our country. @@travelingpanda5108
