I laud how Erwan, as a presenter and noted influencer, doesn't carry (or project) any air of entitlement and any blasé attitude. His humility, intelligence, and great skill for creating introspective narratives in the form of these mind-opening videos simply are top-notch. Finally, we've found a man to regard as our country's very own "better version" of Anthony Bourdain. Bravo Erwan!
Basilian like this can’t and won’t be feasible for the usual tourist. You need a special type of cultural tourist (you need a guide/translator 100% of the time), with deep pockets, and who will enjoy and respect the immersive experience!
Amazing content! Nakakahanga ang mga locals natin, magagaling, kulang lang talaga sa resources, and promotion. Pinaghihirapan nila bawat pagkain or panina, labor of love ika nga tapos tatawaran natin mga mamimili. awww. The Casitas and Tultul, ang galeng.
Seriously, the kind of content that deserves millions of views! Erwan is the new-generation Anthony Bourdain without the foul words 🙌🙌 he opens your mind to new perspectives.
Me too, almost crying as I watch this, and it is like - how ignorant I am about so many wonderful cultures traditions and characters in the Philippines, and at the same time I am so excited to take in as much! Thanks, Erwan and Team!
Wow! This is awesome! As a Filipino-American, this makes me feel closer to my roots while away from my birth country. I’m super proud of Erwan and his team
Please continue making good and quality content. Mainly I don't like english as the main language spoken for documentaries focus on Filipino subjects but yours is an exception. Not quite sure why, but I can feel your sincerity to uplift the Filipino heritage and cuisine. A big salute to you Erwan.
> Mainly I don't like english as the main language spoken for documentaries focus on Filipino subjects I disagree, I think we need a prominent English-speaking food content-creator making quality content about Pinoy-centric dishes that is based in the Philippines - and Erwan perfectly fits that hole. I think a lot of what's get lost to local Filipinos is that with the prominence of social media this age, there are thousands of first generation Filipino kids that are being born outside of the Philippines from Filipino immigrant parents and they have no way of learning about these varied nuanced takes on our food except for content creators/channels like FEATR and Erwan. There aren't a lot of Filipino content creators that actually delve this deep into the cultural aspect of our food and it's great that both local and overseas Filipinos are able to learn together on these videos. English is the lingua franca of the internet. I think it's about time we all get comfy with it being the default language used by content creators that want to reach a wider audience beyond just Filipinos within the Philippines.
Wow, this is very comprehensive! I thought I already knew Cavite. This is such a very good content. I'm not skipping ads. I'm working at night, this is content made me awake because it's educational, and happy to see that locals are still being introduced despite plenty of international influence. Kudos to the Featr team!
From time to time, we get a glimmer of hope, a hope that there are people out there still dedicating their lives to discovery, and preservation, of culture and their indigenous foods! FEATR fills a niche that no other shows does, one dedicated to the Philippines' indigenous culture! As usual, well done! The entire episode left me wanting more!
Why aren’t these videos televised? It would be highly educational for every Filipino (especially the kids) to watch these kinds of content compared to shows on our TV today with the same undying plot. Imagine waking up, watching, and learning about OUR own country through food and just dreaming that we can go and visit those places some day?
Damn. FEATR videos are masterpieces. NETFLIX QUALITY. The Enting's of Sagay episode was REALLY good. This should be the reference standard for Filipino content. More power po!
Absolutely amazing Erwan and Featr team! I loved that you preserved the authenticity of each region and letting them tell their story in their own way. A perfect blend of history, story-telling, culture, and mouth-watering dishes.
Hats off, Erwan, from New York City. Thank you for giving attention to the artisans of the Philippines specially those who work under the mercy of nature. Their very hard work are never given importance and appreciation. I am grateful that you are doing so. Surely, New York City will embrace the products of these people if given the chance to reach us. New York City promotes and loves anything organic and exotic. More power to you.
Every time I watch Featr, the challenge is that it always makes me feel incredibly hungry, prompting me to consider visiting those locations to try their food. 😁😁
I love how Erwan gives respect to the food by asking assistance how to eat every dish traditional way. It gives highlight on people's culture in every place he went.

Thank you for making this type of documentary and highlighting the Filipino food culture and its rich history. Having lived in a foreign land so many decades now, I have been following your show for some years and I can say, I'm not only so so proud being a Filipino but also knowing so much more, much much more from your shows. God bless and keep on going. Thank you for helping our countrymen and women who work very hard with traditions handed down from our early ancestors. colonizers and immigrants from different part of the world. Our country is very unique indeed.
More than Compliments for YOU , ERWAN ! It warms the Heart that a foreigner like YOU is doing a very hard work, Herculean at that featuring our Best Foods, and Filipinos’ Gourmet Artists… YOU are a “Hero” in Your own right, just like “ Heroes” YOU featured! KUDOS !!! Kuya ED M here SalaMUCH!!!

Wow! What a beautifully crafted documentary on a gorgeous culture. Thank you for sharing this ❤ please let us know if Erwan ever wants to take a trip a little closer to home to visit our test bakery and mill. We created One Mighty Mill when we realized there was a systemic issue with how we farm and process wheat in the U.S.. For too long, industrial flour (and many other industrial foods) have been damaging our health and the planet. Industrial flour is made from wheat that's been grown with pesticides & harmful farming chemicals & then roller milled. This process produces flour from the shelf-stable center endosperm, but discards the nutrient-rich (but highly perishable) bran & germ. We are on a mission to fix flour by following a time-worn tradition of milling. We stone-mill 100% USDA certified wheat from our partner farmers so that our flour gets all of its natural nutrients and flavor.
This made me see a side of Filipino culture I've never seen before. So much appreciation for our Filipino traditions and values. Thank you Erwan and FEATR for putting this piece together!

Those foreigners who tells the world that Filipino food is the worst in Southeast Asia because it is fried everything, very meaty, and greasy, have probably only tried 10% of our food. True Filipino food is not truly found on the streets like Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, etc., they are found in homes and in the provinces, because our food culture is mostly family oriented that we share with our family, relatives, friends, and neighbors. Imagine, we have more than 7k islands, with cultures different from each other with islands somewhat disconnected from one another (and some ways connected as well). That's why Filipinos are extremely regionalistic. Our food is the same with different varieties from different islands. The more north or south you go, the foods becomes really different from Metro Manila, especially in the south, where most of our Muslim brothers and sisters reside. And if you look it up, most popular "Filipino" food came from the Luzon area. Because of these cuisines' close proximity to the capital, they got more exposure. Little did everyone know, that the so called "Filipino Food" are just the tip of the iceberg.
Hi Erwan! Can you promote their Banigs more extensively, please! :) Post-Use them with Anne Curtis, for sure many Pinoys and Foreigners will purchase. Thank you! I also believe you have the skill confidence and warmth to meet greet negotiate projects with the Mayors-Governors of the region ! I trust.
