Notes -- I just found a vintage NEMS (uk) press of Black Sabbath's Paranoid, and it sounds terrific. Here's the obligatory 1970 instrumental track, Rat Salad. I do enjoy this drum solo more than most hard rock and heavy metal albums, because it's very short and to the point. No noodling around at all. And the dynamics and soundstage depth are terrific.
The turntable is my dependable Sony PS-X5 Direct Drive, and the phono cartridge is a Grado Red. The phono preamp is the Musical Fidelity V-LPS (w/PSU), and is connected to a Marantz 2235b stereo receiver.
