    Loved going to the zoo as a kid & still do. But even better was a McDonalds meal since I lived in the country (Kleinburg.) Got a laugh out of the kids saying how delicious the burgers were as an adult, The only McD's food I eat now are the fries & the occasional egg & sausage McMuffin's every now & then.

      +andgalactus1 Well, why have a monorail when you can eat McDonald's with millions of fly's buzzing around your head.

      I remember going downhill to the canada exhibit I think and it had a old monorail track which I really wanted to work because that hike up the hill sucked big time.

      andgalactus1 no word of a lie me and a buddy were snowmobiling on the Big Rouge back when the Rouge River actually froze, anyhoo we kept going along towards Lake Ontario and all of a sudden we look up and people on the monorail are looking at us....we rode right into Metro Zoo property...we looked back and there was a big chain link fence on each side of the river but i guess they weren't allowed to cover the river in anyway....it was ok we weren't in any harm but we turned around and got out of there.

    I wish they still had McDonalds at the Zoo. It's better (ok, only slightly better) than the crap they serve now.

    I remember no straws also...cause my mom would bring them in her purse. 😈

    This McDonald’s was decent. The crappy food they have at the zoo now should really be fed to the animals. It’s that bad.

    As I recall, they were the only McDonald's allowed to sell hot dogs at one time. Yay! Also, is it just me, or does the narrator sound an awful lot like the bearded worker they interview who's gushing about the place in his Toronto 70s accent?

    I seem to remember the McDonalds at the zoo not giving out straws because they could be harmful to the animals. Am I right about that?

    • @sixtopian
      @sixtopian 8 років тому +1

      +Paul White I dunno about straws, but I remember when I went years ago, I had some Monopoly pieces that were winners for free stuff, and they wouldn't take them. :(

      +sixtopian Found this on the zoo's web site:
      The following is prohibited:
      Straws, balloons (any type), confetti, rice, whistles, bells, radios......

      +sixtopian Must be a separate franchise that does't comply with giveaway/sweepstakes offerings.

      You're correct. That ban was in place by the time I first visited the Zoo in the mid-1980's
