Same. I’ve really struggled since coming out of a 5 year relationship too. I moved an hour away to be closer to my work and because rent was cheaper so it meant I could afford a beautiful one bed cottage. I thought an hour wasn’t that far as I travel loads for work anyway. But I was wrong! Luckily my ‘rave family’ comes in the form of my work mates. I’m a lighting tech and work on some pretty fun raves and festivals. Music is definitely a great way to meet people. I went to Australia years ago for a working holiday and ended up at many raves alone in Melbourne and met some great people!
also been going solo since i started and either friends will come with me or i make new ones lol. i love how rave crowds are soooooo much more nicer than rap, rnb or any other genre in general 😭

I am socially anxious person but love raving. When covid restrictions were lifted in the UK last year i had an Amelie Lens rave booked the following friday with a friend. He got covid and couldn't go. So i decided to just go alone. Despite getting drunk to calm my fears i was still incredibly anxious and nervous on the train and when queing the extreme fear i felt being in a queue on my own whilst there were groups of friends all around me was intense. However once inside hearing the bass thud and the euphoric atmosphere was amazing. Being able to go anywhere at the rave without having to consult with your friends makes it so much more freeing. I have been to a few alone since and its an amazing experience. When raving with friends i find i never end up speaking to anyone outside my group. This is so ABSOLUTELY TRUE! I went to London for my first rave ever at the Drumsheds for Pendulum and Hybrid Minds and EVERYONE was so fun amd kind to hang with! back in the day this was actually typical even if you went with mates. most of the time even really good mates became mere travel buddies. some go for the music, some go to pick up girls, some just for the experience. you'd end up opposite sides of the venue before knowing it. attended a few solo and the only downside was the travel.
My first festival I went solo. After going to countless shows and festivals I honestly prefer going by myself, making new friends along the way. Only one time have I ever felt alone, and that was at a preppy dubstep show in SoCal.
I sent a few solo raves last year and shared similar experiences. Drumsheds NYE raving to Andy C with complete strangers until 5am, only for the venue to announce it's closure a few weeks later... Take action and go, for the love of music!
I remember moving to London on my own for Uni. Knew no one and booked as many raves as i could by myself. One of the greatest starts to living in a new city. Met massive groups of solid people and enjoyed the raves till the early hours. Highly recommend for anyone
Oddly enough I've been looking at doing the same thing over the coming summer. I know it may seem odd to be admitting but I genuinely do not have any friends, nobody to call, nobody calls or messages me to ask about going out. Days off from work can be extremely lonely and I hate having to take annual leave from work as I don't see a soul. Hats off to you and to anyone who is courageous enough to go out on your own 🙏

I’ve been out to a club alone once before and it wasn’t that much fun. I like the idea of not caring what people think about you and just living in the moment. I wanna go to a DnB show now 🤙🏼
Although, I go to raves with my friends in a group, i tend to sometimes walk off on my own as I like an adventure and meeting strangers. Best part about raving!
When I went Raving I used to go solo most the time. I’ve done it since I was 20. Best way to get out your comfort zone and meet people. I used to have a lot of social anxiety and find it hard making friends. I go out raving less now as in my 30s. Now I’ve got mates I go out with them but I started with nothing! You have to love yourself first before loving other people 😉
I am not into techno music at all, but I went to concerts alone before and they were all amazing. And I didn't even do anything special, I was just standing by the soundguys absorbing the music I loved and it is one of my fondest memories. I agree with this video.
This inspired me, loved electronic music since I was 11, 20 years later and I never went to a EDM concert/festival because I don't know anyone who legitimately loves electronic music. Time to hit the rail and just have a blast by myself.

i've been to 2 festivals all by myself at 17 years old(that was last year) and those festivals were the best things in my life. guys go for solo raves you won't regret ir
I used to do this quite often in my 20s, because nobody in my friend group liked the same type of music as me. I used to make my way through a crowd of people and dance with everybody who was likewise having an amazing time. It was harder to stay in contact back then because this was pre-Smart phone era - I had a mobile, but didn't take it with me everywhere. I imagine if I was doing this still I'd make a lot of new friends.
i unexpectedly solo raved twice. both times i went with my brother's friends. and they were weed smokers and head bangers. they were supposed to take care of me, but they left me because they were high as a balloon filled with helium and went straight to the front while i got lost all the way to the back where all the open space dancers were. this was about a decade back, i'm 31 now. and i've gotta say, it was a damn good thing i was left behind. don't know anyone around me, everyone just minding theirs and having a blast. it was literally the best scary experience i will have at a rave. feels great & liberating, not caring what people think of you, just looking at the stage and jumping and hardstyle shuffling and sweating my arse off. suffice to say, i don't see my brother's friends anymore. given a chance, i'd do this again. without a doubt.
I NEVER end up alone whenever I go to a concert or rave alone. Always meet fun extroverted people who ask me to join their group or solo people who notice am alone! :)
I always go out raving solo. I like it because I don't need to worry about nobody and I can dance wherever I want. DnB is not my cup of tea but raving to house music is amazing experience.
I had this urge to see my favorite artist but all of my friends were busy so I ended up going alone and I randomly met this girl named Destiny who also showed up by herself... I cant make this up!!
I’ve been going alone for about 2 years now. Sober as well. Had some major events happen in my life which caused me to loose contact with all friends. Sometimes my cousin will tag along but I will go solo to 6 events a month. Sometimes if I’m not in a good mood it can be very hard to talk to ransoms and I get anxious.Other times I’m in a good mood , I can go and talk to anyone . I’m really working on making permanent connections at these events but it is hard . Still amazing experiences none the less . Awesome video.

you are an absolute legend, im currently at bristol ariport after me and my girlfriend break up, she studies in UK i came to visit her and she broke up with me. I'm a foreigner but i love UK culture so much. I tattoed the gunfinger because its something that i real love and now i want to come back and make it to a festival on my own. i did back then in my own country but now i wanna do it in another country. see you at DNB all starts barcelona LADS
Man, I love this video lol, I've been going to DnB events for a few years by myself now, but since I always meet new people on those nights, just like you did, I actually always bump into someone I know now. And every single night is legendary! So glad to see you tried this, it's amazing to do.
I often went to all nighter Techno and Trance clubs on my own, if my friends were not up for it. Had some great times. Even went to the odd after-party on my own. I would talk to strangers much more I noticed. Never regretted it. Sometimes there would be a few of us there all 'on own own'... so we'd all team up!
Agreed. Drum and bass and jungle ravers are the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Everyone comes together as one in the dance. Been to loads of events on my own as a raver and usually I’ll make at the very least 3 friends each night.
Decided I needed to do this experiment on myself as well and loved every effing second of it... no better place than okeechobee camping fest for 4 days everyone is all love and I met so many great people. Do what you want in life you create your own reality❤️
i went partying alone all the time... with friends was good, going solo was great, no one to carry around passed out from too much booze, no one to have to go home with early cause they couldn't hack it. i now even love travelling alone.. no restrictions man... party on!
as someone trying to get started dj-ing, thanks for this video. im terrified to try and get a gig because of anxiety; i should probably start with actually going to a party in the crowd before i try to dj
None of my friends are into dnb so I went to go see Metrik by myself. Had a blast and enjoyed his set so much. It's like going to check out an artist displaying his art.
Every event I've gone to with my pals I'll get either distracted, or lose them etc and just make friends! The amount of times a group has taken me under their wing at festival 😄 Some can be forever. Part of the culture is meeting and talking to like minded ppl. Best way is on your ones!
I think the best way to get over that feeling is confront whatever insecurities make you feel that way in the first place. Definitely easier said than done
Been going to parties solo for the last twenty years not because I have no friends but because it's so much easier to get into the music and enjoy it on your own.
Legit one of the reasons why this was a successful night was because it was a DnB event. DnB crowds are the fucking best man. Everyone is always super friendly and calm. I can perhaps count on one hand the fights I've seen in the countless DnB events I've been too. They're just a much superior experience to a house night or (worst of all) cheese night at some shit club playing ed Sheeran or whatever the fuck and everyone's tryna pull people. Liquid and jungle nights tho 👌👌👌👌👌👌
I went to Glasgow to see ArrDee by myself the other week. Amazing time (not like you can have a conversation with someone at a music gig) & I'm away on a car rally 500 miles, driving solo but meeting up with others on the event. epic
I have had the best nights out on my own, no silly friends wanting go home half way though the night, no friends getting wasted bad where you have to baby sit them and get them own....going out alone is pure freedom and you always meet people out, when out on your own you meet more people then you think you would that also out on there own....these people are not Weirdos like you say!!! these people are free and do not need other people!
I went to 6 raves one summer and the most fun I had was the one I went solo to. I made a life long friend that time too. The other times our group missed a third of the evening arriving late and we wasted a bunch of time waiting to get drinks. But the group hotel experience added to it. Still not as cram packed fun as going solo.
I've always went to raves alone cause... well... I have no friends :D Never had the doubts or scares... But I guess a big official ticketed gigs in England are a bit different than illegal parties in ex soviet military warehouses and shipyards :P
I myself have gone out many time by myself because it better then missing the concert, show, rave or whatever because you have no one to go with or whatever other reason you have in your head for not going then being like man I should of gone after the fact when it to late unless it super serious and you can't go for whatever the reason is
Tonight is friday night, its my one and only weekend to have fun in my country before going back to Netherlands to work, i already said to my self fuck it, im going to a club to enjoy good music with or without my friends, since no one lives here anymore im by my self, im already hyped to have this experience solo, but after this video, brothaaaaa we would be best mates, leaving home in 1 hour, lets fuckin gooooo! 🤟🤟🤟
Update: BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE, 3 girls came to me, dance, drinks, talk, and got one of their numbers, probably found my self a girlfriend. What is happening. 😂
First of all, AMAZING VIDEO, thanks for sharing! Also done such night outs, had an amazing time and made several friends through them! The only thing I wouldn't recommend is sharing drinks. Don't wanna sound like a boomer, but really you can never know. Everyone has their own drink and still we can have an amazing party!
Probably the best advice, To just go to an event you like and be a fing weirdo, Maybe theres still time for me yet i guess, I actually have not been to a rave yet i know i belong there.

you are an absolute legend, im currently at bristol ariport after me and my girlfriend break up, she studies in UK i came to visit her and she broke up with me.
I'm a foreigner but i love UK culture so much. I tattoed the gunfinger because its something that i real love and now i want to come back and make it to a festival on my own. i did back then in my own country but now i wanna do it in another country.
see you at DNB all starts barcelona LADS
There's an event this Wednesday I'm really trynna go to but none my homies free. This was the sign I needed.
Man, I love this video lol, I've been going to DnB events for a few years by myself now, but since I always meet new people on those nights, just like you did, I actually always bump into someone I know now.
And every single night is legendary! So glad to see you tried this, it's amazing to do.
Rave is culture, you are never alone there, just positive vibes and tons of fun and memories :D
Went to an Andy C DnB night a few years on my own met a few mates who I still keep in touch with now. Had an absolute brilliant night.
During my time in sweden, raving by myself was the every weekend adventure and it was amazing, best of the best.
Only works with D&B…. No ego just love 🤟🏽💙
couldnt agree, I love techno, house , but people just seem to not go in as hard
Hard Dance Music like Hardstyle or Hardcore works fine as well
Agreed. Drum and bass and jungle ravers are the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Everyone comes together as one in the dance. Been to loads of events on my own as a raver and usually I’ll make at the very least 3 friends each night.
speedcore too.
@@Neudany this. harder the music nicer the people, for some reason
Bro, going out alone is so much fun especially if you're meeting strangers and making friends. no one to hold you back or annoy you
Decided I needed to do this experiment on myself as well and loved every effing second of it... no better place than okeechobee camping fest for 4 days everyone is all love and I met so many great people.
You should, just go.
If the energy isn’t good or you just don’t feel it you can always leave a party
None of my friends are into dnb so I went to go see Metrik by myself. Had a blast and enjoyed his set so much. It's like going to check out an artist displaying his art.
Went to a rave alone last year since I had no one to go with, definitely recommend!
2:30, literally met some of my best friends this way. GO RAVE SOLO ITS THE BEST!
Every event I've gone to with my pals I'll get either distracted, or lose them etc and just make friends! The amount of times a group has taken me under their wing at festival 😄 Some can be forever. Part of the culture is meeting and talking to like minded ppl. Best way is on your ones!
Going solo after over 6 years of raving for me ends up in seeing ppl i haven't seen for years and talking 70% of the night xD
Went to my first rave alone 2 weeks ago. What a blast it was. 10/10 would do again!!
Glad to see you so happy bro, keep doing you 👍🏻👍🏻
editing is just spot on, so sick
Class as always 🔥
Mo absolutely kezzled at the end
I would do this but would have to have some alcohol to get over that 'im a loser' anxiety feeling.
I think the best way to get over that feeling is confront whatever insecurities make you feel that way in the first place. Definitely easier said than done
Been going to parties solo for the last twenty years not because I have no friends but because it's so much easier to get into the music and enjoy it on your own.
Could not agree more to that! Done it myself. Probably one of the best experiences I had so far!!!
Hahaha can’t wait got a solo rave coming up soon, don’t care what people think we there for the music and a sick time! Sick video mate love them 🔥
Great video great message
Relatable.
Haha love this bro pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone whilst having fun :)
We all a big one family ,you never gonna be alone thats the rave culture 🤩
Legit one of the reasons why this was a successful night was because it was a DnB event. DnB crowds are the fucking best man. Everyone is always super friendly and calm. I can perhaps count on one hand the fights I've seen in the countless DnB events I've been too. They're just a much superior experience to a house night or (worst of all) cheese night at some shit club playing ed Sheeran or whatever the fuck and everyone's tryna pull people. Liquid and jungle nights tho 👌👌👌👌👌👌
I went to Glasgow to see ArrDee by myself the other week. Amazing time (not like you can have a conversation with someone at a music gig) & I'm away on a car rally 500 miles, driving solo but meeting up with others on the event. epic
Loving the content mo !
you know mos taken when he keeps his shirt on at an event
You know I gotta hit that thumbs uppppp glad to see you doin uuuuu
Man I like this video m8 x100 even better because it was drum n bass show! Wicked and your the legend
That’s me man’ part one of two of the two girls who formed the rave crew, love it!
Went to many of the top venues in Brooklyn alone..and those were definitely among my best times!
Omg ! Your 1st time raving on your own lol 😃 it’s amazing raving on your own , and yes 🙌 you meet loads of new friends, I do it all the time lol 😝
Love these vids man!
Great video Mo!
I’m actually traveling to London this weekend for a solo rave! I’m pretty excited
this is exactly why i love raving
Absolute gezza love the energy bro 💯
I myself have gone out many time by myself because it better then missing the concert, show, rave or whatever because you have no one to go with or whatever other reason you have in your head for not going then being like man I should of gone after the fact when it to late unless it super serious and you can't go for whatever the reason is
Been going out on my own since 91, always have a great time
Tonight is friday night, its my one and only weekend to have fun in my country before going back to Netherlands to work, i already said to my self fuck it, im going to a club to enjoy good music with or without my friends, since no one lives here anymore im by my self, im already hyped to have this experience solo, but after this video, brothaaaaa we would be best mates, leaving home in 1 hour, lets fuckin gooooo!
Title goals ❤️🥰
DnB events are the bomb
