Oh nice, I've played this one! I liked it, I think the first few times you play it does present a decent challenge by trying to make you decide when to save tiles and trying to plan a few turns in advance, and I like that you can adjust the difficulty. But I agree after a few plays it does get a bit dry/you grow out of it. We'll have to try out Pandemic now, thanks!
I've never actually played Forbidden Island, but have played Forbidden Desert many many times, it's fantastic. Burgle Bros and Flashpoint are other great games with a similar feel. oh, and we have many games we haven't played in our collection for a while, but still love... Another great video, thank you for sharing❤
Thanks so much for taking the time to check out our video 🥳 Burgle bros is one we have on the wishlist, looks like the gameplay is really fun in that one 😊
What level do you play at? I was thinking of pushing the starting level up...then we played a really tough game on the normal level...& we chickened out on increasing the difficulty 🤣
We play one level away from the Skull and Crossbones 😎 Haha joking aside we usualy play Normal but have tried the others a few times. I find the difficulty comes more from the initial tile placement? (The Waters Rise! Cards too, as Joana loves to draw them) but often times we find the map tiles can lead to an easy/clear path. I know it's random but I wish there was a way to control that better - because half way through a game if we see it's near impossible to lose (even if we get flooded) then it takes away from the enjoyment a bit. Maybe we really do need to play one level away from the top just to feel that constant fear 😅 Or perhaps we could try and only put the treasure tiles at the edge of the island with the helipad in the middle, so we're forced to move around more :)
@@Board_Game_Beans The characters you play also impact the difficulty. Because we play at 2 player we choose our characters. I might go with random roles in a 4-player game because we'd end up with a good mix of skills. The alternate layouts look tricky; I wouldn't push the starting level up the first time you try them!😉
@@teaNgames True! :) Ahaha yes I'm not prepared to try the alternate layout (Especially the bridge one) without a Diver on our team to cross the gap when that middle tile eventually falls 😅

Yay 🥳 Thanks for checking out the video :) Absolutely do try out Pandemic if you can, we're big fans of that one and the challenge it presents.
