I'd definitely not do that with the miter saw. That flash has chemicals that can be sensitive to friction if the clay has any flash in some cases it does it could get ugly. Oh well I personally don't like that those cans don't have longer fuse I use HD 15 inch guns for my racks and the fuse isn't long enough to do the finale chains the way I like them to sit anymore I just use tape match and e fire them
Hello. This shell was not opened or messed with at all and I thought safe enough for a little stunt like cutting the top off. But yes, I take your point. 15” huh? That’s pretty sweet. I’m using 12” for 4” shells which has worked well thus far. Agree the fuses need to be longer as I usually have to extend them in order to fit the angled racks. I’d love to do ematch!
Hello. I’ve not noticed any dramatic differences with the shells reaching apogee. The fuse timing remains unchanged, so the shell will still go off at the same time, but potentially could be a few feet higher. But no, no noticeably higher effect. And this was just sort of a gag. Don’t actually cut the shells down to 4” although you certainly can. I only do this if they don’t fit into the tubes as sometimes the cardboard on a 5 or 6 inch shell is bent. Thanks!

Do the shells noticeably go higher with the slightly lower weight?
