Dave! I am so impressed with your work. I have come and gone many times into the quilting world. Piecing the tops have always been my favorite. After my divorce I needed to do something to keep my mind busy and I started an EPP project for a baby shower gift. I stumbled upon your page and I AM SO GLAD I DID!! The added border on the bottom and side really made the whole quilt click for me! Looks great and I adore the soot sprites you added. Such a cool touch.

I have put terry cloth in blocks, and even though it is not ideal, it works, it's messy, but it works. My very first quilt is a hexy quilt made of the most inappropriate groupings of fabric ( stolen from the scrap bin in my home ec class) I broke every rule, when I didn't know what the rules were! Love that mess of a quilt.
You always create a new amazing novelty. I don’t know how you do it. I love Studio Ghibli and gifted my son the 30th anniversary t shirt.

OH! MY! GOODNESS!!!! Me and my family are fans of Hayao Miyazaki's movies! Honestly, as I saw you place things, I wasn't sure if it would look good. But as you sewed the accent fabrics, and replacing the parts, it came together so harmoniously, and then you finished with perfection with the little soot sprites! The little girl in me said, '"SQUEEE!" I think this is my favorite quilt that you've made! Well done! I was so glad the recipient of the quilt really enjoys it - I knew they would! Fly hair cut, spiffing stash and vvv cool quilt. I like how you made it bigger without adding borders on all sides. And I love the little black puffs, you def need the magic lint roller for that project!❤💕❤️

Another stunning quilt! Dave you are not just an inspiration to folks new to the quilting game by doing your own thing (Love Davitizing!) but you are so generous to make such fabulousness for so many friends! Of course Studio Ghibli is iconic and the shirts and fabrics are amazing. I especially loved the bathhouse one, it reminds me of a game I am playing on my Nintendo Switch called Spirit Tea where your character runs a bathhouse for spirits in a small village. Keep on Daving!

Love that studio, have so many favorite movies from there. My absolute favorite is Howl's Moving Castle.
My daughter loves anything Japanese and I found acrylic transparent jigsaw ghibli puzzles. I sent them to her for her birthday . She assembled them and hung then in her windows. I guess I should add that they were small puzzles like 6 to 8 inches.

eh flexifuse was for the appliques, as for the interfacing I used on the tshirts... I'm not sure what the brand is called that I have but I like a thin one 😜

I've been working on a studio ghibli quilt for oldest off and on for years now. I wish I would have thought of collecting shirts for it. I think will look for some to add to it. Where did you find the yardage at? I started by hand cutting and hand applique character blocks but that's all I have so far.

Did you use any batting? I didn't notice any. I love how you put that quilt top together without a pattern. I would have loved to have had a quilt something like this when I was young. We had different cartoons back then. You were correct. I had no idea what Studio Ghibli was.

Can't really tell, but the towel should have been pure-washed, (do not use fabric softener) as all fabric should be, before attempting to fuse iron-on stabilizer to it.
