- This week, Chris Pritchard and Lee Johnston speak to TT presenter and legendary rider Cameron Donald.
Cam talks to us about striking the balance between family time and his passion for racing, his early years and why he had to wait before he could get started racing.
They discuss the emotion, excitement and surreal feeling of being on the startline, both as a TT rider and a presenter, and what he said to Michael Rutter the first time he met him.

Top bloke, top,top rider. Loved that one. Cameron is a credit to himself.
lee johnson ..awesome 10/10
that is so true.
Yet another brilliant interview and Lee was MADE for social media! That lad can commentate, interview and be interviewed and he manages to keep you engaged from start to finish AND he makes it look effortless. He reminds me a lot of Whitham, he can walk the walk AND talk the talk! Go Lee! Once he retires (which I hope he doesn’t for a LONG time I can definitely see a bright future for him presenting and doing commentary 👍🏻
Seconded. In a decade or more, imagine Lee is on point in the commentators box? Excellent. Huge value added.
Already looking forward to part two, thanks guys 🙏
Probably my favourite one yet. Loved all the chat about the Irish national scean. I remember watching cam at skerries years ago . It was a great time for Irish racing back then. Unfortunately it's on its knees now and I don't think it ever recover unfortunately.
"It's on its knees now" What do you think the problem is?
@@John_Wood_money
Not enough money in it even to cover its minimally required costs.
A conspiracy out of event insurance is a full on assault on something that’s quintessentially male. The “eiites” do not like real men, fearless, skilful men.
Cameron said Hello to me at the Bungalow last year in the exact same way😂 At first I thought who on earth is this kind bloke & then it clicked haha. Never met him before, clearly just a super friendly chap
Thankfully met & chatted with both Lee and Cam several times and both great racers and great fella's. Best wishes for both in their separate careers for 2024.
Can feel the tension just laying in my bed watching this. Love it 👍
easy Stu.... 🤣🤣🤣
Leave it alone Stu 😂
You’ll go blind.
Lee is ace. Makes me grin 😃

Loved Lee live on the TT commentary and love him on here. He's a natural.
Fantastic part1, how entertaining are Cam and Lee? Just chatting and chilling 👌. Best one so far imo, great work gents.
One of the best interviews yet & it also brought the best out of Lee as well 👏👏👏The only thing missing is the glamorous Christie 👌
Hi from the USA, CO, Rocky Mts., I watch all the Podcast, love the TT, total fanatic, keep up the good work lads! Lee your doing a fine job.
Loving Lee on the show, really positive addition to the already excellent team.
What a great podcast love lee so enthusiastic and knowledgeable please keep up the great work
Another fantastic podcast looking forward to part 2
Cam Donald, Jamie Whitham, Steve Plater are the people I want to hear on commentary at TT 😊!!! Each have Walked the Walk, now they Talk the Talk👍
Oh, I did not include Lee, because I hope he has more Walking the Walk to do!!! He was born Talking the Talk😇
Exactly!!! That's the commentary team we want...like on some of the older TT DVDs I bought off Duke.
Hi Lee, whenever you decide to retire, you will be a natural commentator, and a funny guy to boot !!
What a fabulous podcast with two great characters. Yes I give all three of you 10/10 for humour stories and interesting insights on race craft. Terrific chemistry between you all Cheers from Australia south of Wonga Park 🏍🇦🇺
Quality show and conversation flow!
Lee is correct, the comment section should be going mad.
Brilliant podcast, the best yet and the first one I had to comment on.
Lee is fantastic a natural.
He must be on every one.
Cam & Lee are great in front of the camera, funny buggers.

With good people comes great times , Thanks enjoyed it .
He’s doing a fabulous job…… can you ask him to sit on a couple of cushions or maybe a high chair so we can see him at the table Lol Love the podcasts guys, keep up the great work!
Great podcast, first Ive watched on YT instead of the app.. Lee is the General. I'm ill in bed with one of my boys who is also ill. He loves Lee Johnson. I have a great video of Lee coming around the hairpin at Oliver's Mount in first at the end of the first lap and my son literally ran whooping across from the start finish straight to the hill. Went to the TT first time last year. Looking forward to watching Lee this year
That was great to listen to!
Racing the Island takes big brass one’s obviously but watching this made me think about what anybody that works on the bikes must go through when their riders are on the track.
Brilliant Cameron is a legend ❤❤❤RESPECT dude, great stuff 👍 I'm from Douglas and I'm coming this year for the first time in 30years and I can't wait I'm like a big kid, see ya soon dudes and thanks again Paul 😀
Cam is such a legend! same for Lee! Heroes
really enjoyed the podcast
Genuine dude, exudes good nature.
Lee needs to be welded into the commentary team. Then bolted, just to make sure. And concreted.
He's absolutely perfect for it and brings so much first-hand knowledge.
Looking forward to 2nd part
A great podcast, be good to see Ian hutchy on again and Guy Martin
Lee gets an 11 out of a possible 10.
As an Aussie I can say Cams a legend
Lee, top job. 🇦🇺
,.’ Much love ..’ house of david 🔥🤴🏻
Brilliant all round
Please keep lee on the pods for as long as you can.
His buddy whitham needs to be careful I can see Lee working for Eurosport soon 😉
sound on laptop at full ,but can hardly hear it ?
Lee's Presenting is as good as his racing. I'll let him be the Judge of that 😂
These podcasts are so much better with the general Lee Johnston bin plater off an keep Lee 😝
Love the story about Cam asking the old bloke on the bus to the circuit at Macau, “Who are you spannering for?”, getting back “Spannering? Cheeky bastard” from Michael Rutter.
And seeing Bruce Anstey fly by on a 600 & he was like, “I’ve got to do this”.
It’s just shit that there’s so little money in road racing that riders more or less have to rock up with a substantial contribution to running costs or you’re very unlikely to even get started. I can understand why that is. Few commercial companies want to advertise their wares with a backdrop of something as edgy as this. In the past, that was fine. Now, it’s too loaded with “toxic masculinity” (obviously it’s not, but that’s what they say). “Woke” makes sponsoring this kind of event nearly impossible. Companies “police” each other. While companies that make products only for bikers ought to be excited by it, they’re not all massive global corporations with billion pound turnover. A lot of products are niche. They don’t have a ton of spare money being spun off routine commercial activities.
TT is still a huge draw for any company making stuff for bikes & associated with that. But how can TT survive if there’s less & less underpinning activity within which young men can learn their craft?
I genuinely fear even for TT. I doubt it’s got a decade left in it if the lower races keep getting stuffed.
Has neevsey got his smiley jack lids on shelves outhere to purchase 🤔?
❤ class
lee gets a 8.5 for mine seemed to have a bit of control over the fan boy ness
Onwards and upwards Johnny get some rest and roll onto Barcelona
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
👏👏👏
Lee’s spot on better than plata
Cam to Aussie bloke off camera too
All my younger life I’ve stupidly thought I could do anything, raced 600 and 1000cc bikes on the track and won. watched the first TT bike go past…………..FU## THAT! Not in any life could I race the TT.
A few comments lolol 2.../..10....
P r o m o s m 🙌
Bar fight ??
