- Phillip McCallen returns for part two of his TT Podcast episode with Chris Pritchard and Lee Johnston.
Phillip talks us through his most intense races, how he became obsessed with winning five TTs in a day, how injury never got in the way of riding; and how his intense persona once meant he nearly ripped the bars off his bike.

That was absolutely brilliant, no ego, no bullshite, just Phil at the top of his game. Loved watching his utter commitment on 2 wheels. A top cracking bloke, calmly telling it how it was. A legend.
Apart from the steering being bent through 30 degrees, that bit sounds like bs
What a fantastic vlog 53 minutes of pure joy. Thankyou.
This was just the best. N.I accent is my favourite. I could listen to Phillip all day long. A real seanchai. And with Lee's colouring the scenes for us, it was just fantastic. Would love part II. Great work Chris.
Phillip is such a nice guy. He was always one of my favourite racers growing up with his riding style and great attitude. I was thrilled to meet him and get a photo on the Isle of Man last year he was genuinely happy to chat and have a picture taken.……btw last year was my 23rd year visiting. Roll on 24 👍
He's a rat I went to school with the ballbag
Always very entertaining listening to McCallen 😄
I too could listen to Mr. McCallen for hours.Great job boys.
Thanks for a superb interview/chat.
What a bloke.
I was so lucky to see Phillip throughout his career. One of my favourite riders. Such a pleasure to hear this interview and so good that he's one of the greats who got to walk away. Please have him on again some time, there's loads more to hear I'm sure.
Absolutely legend
Absolutely brilliant and Lee explained it all so well super interview !!🎉
Total hero. Always wondered what happened to the foxeye fireblade he built with unobtainable (to normal people) RC45 front and rear ends. It featured in Performance Bikes magazine and he'd engineered and dialled it in to perfection. That bike is ingrained in my brain, hope he kept it. Lee, try and get a tour video of Phil's collection on your channel? Let professor McCallen just talk about every bike as technically as he does. Pure gold that man.
I’m wriggling with excitement about the TT fortnight. It’s the highlight of the sporting year, for me.
One of my favourite realroadracers of all times! What a legend and a lovely fella to chat with.
Phil was a hero to me on the island, shook his hand years ago,he had his race face,I'm glad to see these bloke's later on, four in a week WOW do I remember didn't think it would ever happen again and bang huchy does five, that place is magical only been twice I'm 54 first time was 88 and has always been in me mind, born on the wrong side of the world for sure

Brilliance across the board, good job all
Fantastic stuff guys, thanks for this ... and yes drag em over to Ireland for the grass roots.. again thank you for what you guys give us..top notch ❤
Brilliant. Could’ve listened all day long 😊
Thoroughly enjoyed this.
Phillip & Joey are a big part of me saving up to buy a RC30 in 99 (it costed 3 times a GXR / ZXRR as new in DK on the road)... the TT inheritance formed my relation with Honda, unfortunately- for Honda, I never overcome this time period, the garage is still full RC30’ ... not riding anymore. Phillips story of riding the 250 was so great - what a story teller - I hope you will make a follow up as this will become one of my favorite podcast around 90’ road racing - thanks for a great 50 min ..
Great interview,genuinely old school
WhooHoo…..was waiting for part 2……Philip is a fantastic guest…no fecks given, he was a hard rider to beat in his day……👍😉👌🇮🇲
Awesome interview.
Just incredible!
Great funny insightful, humble great vlog
This was a good one. What a humble pilot
Awesome . Loved it
Outstanding 🙌🙌
I remember watching the tt most years in the 90s and 2000 s .. when ever you saw Phil macallen around the tt his eyes were out on stalks .. especially when he would go through rencullen ,over the jump .at the time you could sit on outside of corner then ..you could here him coming from a few miles back .he would come through crossed up .like no other. his eyes were so focused defiantly 1000 per cent commitment .some boy 😜
It was a good spot that, ruined now.
Brilliant what a man
Old school & such a good craic 🏁
Lee is great on these podcasts
Love that man
Legend
Thanks Leon, but i think it's Phillip who's the real legend...
😂
He looks like the guy from Mrs.Browns Boys, who would have guessed he was actually one of the greatest TT racers ever 👍
Not was, is.
Pineapple has no business on top of a pizza, 1000%
❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Sorry Philip I will doff my cap to you on all things motorbike, but pineapple definitely belongs on pizza
🤢🤮
When Lee started sniggering at Mr BA BA, I nearly fell out of my chair. 😆
Best one yet for me, loved it could of listened for hrs and hrs
Brilliant love a good chat like that any chance of a episode on David Jeffries
Bit of a problem there - in case you haven't noticed they interview the person face to face, so unless they can rig up a VT link to the great circuit in the sky they're going to have a bit of a problem pinning DJ down.
