My gosh that pitcher is absolutely incredible!! You make amazing pots!! I absolutely love the swirl vase with the bright colors!!! That peacock bowl is absolutely stunning!! Thank you so much for putting the combos on the screen!! The set of dishes are soo pretty. How sweeet of you to make a set for your son.
Thanks so much Michele! I stuck a string of fairy lights in that swirl vase and it kinda works! The vase is translucent, so it lights up like it's on fire. It's starting to grow on me, even though I wasn't thrilled with it at first. I guess sometimes we get an image in our mind's eye, and when things turn out different it's hard to look at them without prejudice. I really appreciate your input. Let me know how things turn out if you try any of these glaze combos!
Wow love the combo of the bowl!! The green one❤ thank you for sharing!

Hi Nat! Thanks so much! I love how this community shares their ideas and techniques so freely. I'm looking forward to seeing what new glaze applications you come up with! It's so much fun to try different things. I'm getting faster at the edits, but it does take a little time.
All all kinds of glaze stuff going on. Spotted the Rebeca immediately. I'd always known it made by so many of the old time Seagrove potteries but from what you say the new potters are picking it up too. I got a redware one back in the 80's, not as nice as yours. Curious as to your thought on Standards Hazelnut clay it's the body I use most.
Hi Jeff! Thanks on the Rebecca pitcher. @MatthewKellyPottery is in Asheboro, NC. He's the one who inspired this piece. I like to set new challenges for myself.
As for the Hazelnut, I like it alright, but have been throwing mostly Laguna Frost for the last 6 months or so. Those pieces were from 2022 and 2023. I needed fillers to go around the plates, so I used some older bisqueware for glaze tests. With an 18" kiln, I can only fit one plate per shelf, but still had room for small stuff...at least stuff with small footprints. I need some half shelves! And maybe a bigger kiln. :-)
Once I finish this dinnerware set, I will probably go back to some of the darker clays for a bit. But a service for 12 with each place setting including 3 size plates, 2 size bowls, mugs and serving dishes will take a little while to finish.
I am definitely going to try that! If you want I do my own kilnopenings if you not already checked it out!
Thanks, I'll check then out!
