Fatshark is really good at making games that are mechanically extremely fun to play and then not making those games or their communication for human beings.
It doesn’t make money. Can’t dump resources and manpower into a product that won’t return ur investment. Business wise they should scrap it and move on to the next project. I liked darktide tho
Fatshark SAYS there's a skeleton crew working on Vermintide 2 and Darktide is SUPPOSED to be their main game, BUT it seems like Vermintide 2 is still getting as many or more updates than Darktide!
Fatsharks enemy has always been itself. It has wonderful devs, but the management has always been awful. Hell I remember reviews for the company on hiring sites straight up repeatedly said by previous employee's was constant complaints about the horrible management. Content development was never their strong suite, so why they thought they could ever do a "live service" astounds me. Love the game, but kinda hate the company.
Major push for cosmetics is due to the ten cents effect. Any company they buy suddenly prioritizes cosmetics/microtransaction. The corporate greed taking over @J.B.1982
@@J.B.1982 They honestly can't even do the cash shop right lol, it's been nothing but rereleases of utter recycled slop for months now. It really shouldn't be hard to make cool looking cosmetics in a universe like 40k and they somehow fail to deliver on what you would think they view as their real money maker considering how neglected everything outside the shop is.
The Heavy Stubber is great and offers an excellent ranged option for Ogryn. Is it the *best* weapon Ogryn has? No. But it's fun to use and more than viable.
@@TobiasBlueman The problem with range Orgyn build is that the tree for it is just utter trash and bolluck. Why does the end tree only give a 8% chance to not use ammo and the upgrade buff it to just 12%? How about add that 12% to the 8% so you have a 1 in 5 chance of ammo not being used at all when firing. And why doesn't the F skill upgrade in that tree just give Orgyn a base 100% faster reload speed buff while also extending the duration on if Orgyn kills Elite enemies with range weapon like how Veteran's range F skill upgrade allow the skill to stay on indefinitely as long Veteran is killing a range Elite which constantly keeps adding 5 seconds to the max timer. Also Orgyn realistically only has two good range weapons and Fat Shark still refuses to still fix Orgyn for Auric and Havoc difficulty. The amount of disrespect Fat Shark has to Orgyn compared to actual WH lore is insane (Orgyn during 30k were feared by Space Marines, legit one of the few Human Mutant variants that could go toe to toe with them).
@@WatcherMovie008 I agree that the tree needs a complete overhaul, but the gun itself is good, that's all I'm saying. And Point Blank Barrage is an instant reload, which is great. You can also get your ability back *very* quickly with "Bruiser" because you and allies will be killing a ton of elites pretty much constantly. I agree that lucky bullet is utter trash and should never be taken. As of now, you just go for Heavy Hitter and Bull Rush or Taunt (depending on build and purpose). The Heavu Stubber doesn't really need anything from the tree and can one-shot most elites/specialists by itself, which is excellent.
Rather than try to lump it all together in one 'big' update, I'd prefer if they would just give us one smaller update with content every month instead. Either way, they're gonna need to change their approach if they want this game to actually survive.
They don't think it's dead or anywhere near it. It's clear they are hitting their profit margin as they have been making this pattern since 2018. No idea why he only points out the last year.
What confuses me is why did Vermintide 2 just get new content when it already has way more content, yet Darktide is the newer game that is lacking content
Iirc vermintide 2 has SIGNIFICANTLY more players and people who own the game The god emperor? Spehhs mareens? Tyranids? You must've been dreaming, come on we got rats to kill dawri
The problem is, not only Fatshark has terrible management, but even if it were great they wouldn't be able to sustain a live-service game 'cause there's around 120 people working in the studio right now, and a sizeable portion of these devs are involved in making Versus mode for Vermintide 2. Plus, if we look at it objectively, with it's awful cosmetic shop and lack of meaningful dlcs, Darktide gotta be less profitable for Fatshark than Vermintide 2 so they are more likely to shunt more workers and more resources in that direction. And even then, VT2 players know that 100% of Fatshark's attention to a game still amounts to jack. I personally never really gotten into Vermintide but I love Darktide and still I'm able recognize that DT, if nothing really changes, is going to die. My only hope is that in that case FS include some kind of offline mode with P2P co-op and bots.
I have well over a 1000 hours in this game. I have a 30 in all four classes completely decked out in top gear and have accumulated more currency than I could ever spend. I play for two reasons only - the engrossing gameplay and the penances (which I’m running out of). They need to find a way to get more quality content out on much more frequent basis and they need to give us rewards to spend currency on or something to chase like higher level weapons or mod drops that we can use to tinker with on our weapons. And note - I’ll pay for the content because I love this game and want to see it succeed wildly.
They need to let us buy Aquillas with the resources. I don’t care if it’s insanely expensive, at least it’s something. Like a million gold for 500 Aquillas. Anything.
on a serious note, play whatever feels right. Now is usually the best time to start being a variety streamer. dont abandon anything, dont burn bridges, but diversify. this also doesent mean jump to rivals, play that for 5 months until burnout, then jump to the next thing for 5 months ETC. If that is what you will do, you will NEVER build an audience. Play some classics, play evergreen games you enjoy, do creative challenges, dont just PLAY for the sake of playing. That way you can grow your community and i wont have to spend lots of time hacking your password once you permanently abandon youtube. Instead, i can keep annoying you on stream, ANd in games, until you have this job. Gl man, take this advice and run with it
I think he mentioned he played Warframe before at some point. The game is huge right now because Destiny is dying (apparently, idk tho i don't play it), now would be a good time to ride the algorithm with that and it is kinda an evergreen game too imo
It's always been crazy to me that Vermintide 2 seems to get pretty consistent updates (these days, not back when it launched) and that is Fatshark's older title! Personally I think they should wind down the support for VT2 and instead focus on Darktide, you know the game they released in 2022 over the game they released back in 2018. When they do release content for Darktide it is always a reason for me and others to jump back in and no game, with possibly the exception of Rogue Trader, nails the 40k feel like Darktide.
as far as im aware its two different dev teams for verm and darktide so its not anything to do with verm stealing all the dev team work or something, plus verm 2 is still an amazing game to this day and im glad it still gets content, theres actaully another map coming and a weapon pack coming for verm 2 so the support for verm seems like its gonna continue all 2025 the darktide devs just gotta get there shit together
It's OK, guys, just play with nothing but dueling sword for another 3 years, because there's nothing like it that gets the job done on Havoc. It'll get its nerf by then, when it's time to sell those pay2win classes and weapons because the game isn't making Tencent money anymore.
It maybe negative but I viciously disagreed with the idea of a winter break when you put out game breaking bugs. You have a responsibility to your game you just dropped on a new platform. Missing missions, Veteran content desert, balancing issues, GAS, every step forward leads to them stumbling down the stairs. I hate that I love this game.
Penetration of the soul still broken since it released, still a better talent to take than empyric resolve Fatshark really feels like they take their customers as a given and it shows Meanwhile vermintide had 2 maps releases in less than 3 months, how is a skeleton crew more competent than the main darktide team is insane to me frankly
XBOX PLAYERS BE AWARE: This isn’t a fix for the crashing issue yet, it’s the first update on the road to fixing it It’s sadly only mentioned in the Official Reddit, so hard for people to know if anything or what changed But this is technically a way for them to read how it crashes better so they can eventually fix it later Don’t rush in and install the game back thinking you won’t crash… as it legit dashboards you home now instead of just disconnecting to main menu I remain positive, despite the YEAR LONG WAIT, I understand that it’s probably a spaghetti mess in there, especially having crossplay, keyboard and mouse support and all the memory usage in higher difficulty Edit: Grammar and phrasing
@ it’s “better” but if dashboard, it dashboards to the home instead of main menu That being said, it’s not THE fix yet, it’s something that’s meant to help and let them know what to do next
Surely fixing these cosmetics is a better use of their time than, oh, idk.. reintroducing excise vault, or fixing power weapon activations, or fixing havoc demotion, or anything related to havoc really, or balancing ANYTHING that has been talked about for the past 5 months. No one is gonna care about these cosmetics or if they look right if the actual game is getting neglected.
I can hear your pain in your voice throughout this video. I know, that you know, that darktide niche is what made you who you are. This channel what it is. But, because of this development team, or whoever’s making the decisions, it’s forcing you into a corner. You won’t get the same views branching out, but do what you enjoy. Make videos on games that you wanna play! Cover what you wanna cover, not what we want to hear
@hemogoblin69 hard or not doesnt matter it's just the fact that they promised them money, had them sign shit and still haven't paid them 2 years later. Granted someone like Shroud who was part of it doesn't need the money but it's still a pretty scummy thing to do regardless
@@spencerclark6113 I am getting so bored of Mordian/Krieg gas masks or recoloured cadian helmets. @@darko-man8549 exactly. There's all the guard regiments, all the tons of ministorum-adjacent models to pull ideas from, the book arts, all the white dwarf supplementary material, hell they could even pull Ogryn skins from the OG Ogryn models that were meant to look barbaric and primitive
The real question is: why would anyone buy any of it? It’s a predatory ripoff. I’ve spent 20 extra bucks in this game with 700 plus hours. I’d love to spend more but it’s too painful.
@J.B.1982 that too. The pricing has climbed into a silly bracket that makes Destiny cosmetics feel like a better deal. I can't imagine the shop makes them that much money right now compared to raw game sales when they run a deal on it and release new content.
Going weaves first really turned some vets away Im willing to bet. Its not my main reason but its up there. So many chances yet they still repeated Vermintide 2 shortcomings. Its wild.
It is BEYOND me why in the world they work on vermentide more than darktide. Better sales because people outside of the warhammer fandom dont feel like they have to identify with 40k fans? Fantasy is more popular as a genre? IDK. I havent played Vermintide so I wouldn't know, but what I do know is that Darktide receives like a third of the updates as Vermintide. Srt for the rant I just love this game.
Simple - base Vermintide 2 constantly goes on sale so a lot of people buy it and it has a lot of meaningful content DLCs for those who get hooked. Darktide has nothing except for Premium edition upgrade which has absolutely awful value and an incredibly terrible cosmetics shop in-game, in which not only are all cosmetics time gated but most of them aren't even good. Plus, Vt 2 can be played solo.
I think you have some good points. I would also say that Vermintide is an easier game, especially with a controller. Darktide is being made for the sweat lords and try hards. That’s the vibe I get.
As someone who recently picked up this game on xbox (I stayed away, after being tempted, a year ago after hearing about how the game had issues and had loooong intervals between "fixes") I can't believe the game is in this state at this point in it's life cycle...frequent crashes on matches, sometimes 2 a match, weapon balancing all over the place I.e. broken dueling sword (why use anything else?), audio glitches like silent crushers still, graphics turning low-res after a few matches, and Havoc being some weird elitist club (true-level elitists, meta elitists etc). I want to love this game because of the gameplay loop and the 40k setting, but man is this game so severely mismanaged. You would think this is something heads would roll for. Also, I like how the devs openly admitted they STILL don't know what might be causing the crashes on xbox...that's a good sign...I'm going back to Space marine 2 for a while I think until the next "fix" for Darktide.
My friend really doesn't like how havoc only allows premade teams. I tried to explain that it's for the "try hards". To your point, there are so few people playing the game at the havoc level, and havoc itself is so poorly designed for the long term that once people beat it completely, the urge to play that mode falls off. All that is left is the old content. So we end up struggling to find players to join us for havoc games. I've been playing a few different games other than Darktide as of late and working on my backlog. I don't have that drive to visit Darktide daily like I used to. I hope we get some chaos waste equivalent mode to drive people back to the game because havoc is pulling a real winds of magic right now.
@@J.B.1982 the map design is dogshit vs vt2 all the maps are reused areas and assets except one actual new area/room segment per map, and dont give me that its a hive city cope idgaf its a game
I have just recently got into the train of Darktide, so while i LOVE the game itself and how it feels to fight a good fight, the strain of ObeseFish not doing it's part is something i feel heavily (give us the Heavy ogryn update damnit! And fix this crashing games!!!) I hope they make a fix to so many issues we are having, the game has so much potential.
I play with a buddy on Xbox and the amount of times he crashed while doing havocs is infuriating. This is a game breaking bug that should be fixed immediately, not take months.
It’s the main reason why despite having hit 40 in the first week of havoc’s release, i still can’t bring myself to attempt true survivor while being at the mercy of another 2014 or 2001 error code. It’s a joke that FS isn’t taking this seriously
My theory is the servers they run are out of date and can’t properly communicate with Xbox servers. They probably need to tremendously upgrade who lease/rent run servers through and simply cant afford it.
I played V2 from the pre-order Beta (on console) to roughly around the 4 year anniversary, then i would hop back in for new content drops. Put a little over 1,000 hours in all together. I've been playing Darktide since the Playstation launch like 2ish months ago, and I have around 200 hours, and i already feel like im kind of... done. I did enough Havoc to get all 3 armor pieces and have no real desire to grind through even more Emperors Fading Light. I still can't believe they decided to copy over Weaves instead of Chaos Wastes.
Big Fish shot themselves in the foot by marketing this game as an "Live Service" as it's very clearly not as a"live" as people expect it to be. They are literally following (from what I can remember) basically the entire path that Vermintide 2 went down. So chances are, we're gonna get a major patch every year with some smaller ones mixed in, some bug fixes and eventually a map or two per year down the line. It'll be the undead it's trying to be and make grandpa nurgle proud.
Not the first game where I see this kind of pattern. The content creators that chose to "main" that one eventually moved on to other games, and usually with a big hit to their audience, at least for a while.
I preordered the game and have been playing steadily since, but, lots of other games have come out and the lack of content has just made it so stale (doesn’t help that im an ogryn player and it’s getting harder and harder to have fun as my big boy)
If you were to make non-darktide content, what do you think would be the most realistic thing to pivot to? Or better question, what do you want to pivot to if you knew it would work out?
No idea at this point. I would love there to be another game with builds and different playstyles, poe takes so long to build up to those and warframe i have played too much lol
I recently bought this and i am astounded how lowkey this game was. This game is uniquely great no other game satisfies my itch for an rpg team-based shooter since Destiny 2. The server and bug issues dont help when the game (for me back then) seems like a one-off like that gotham shooter cuz of how many similar games w40k dished out in the last decade. I can imagine it needs more game modes for a wider audience but comes with the risk of dividing the low playerbase atm. Maybe new classes? I would love some sort of survival mode like imagine an open war field stand your ground setting.
Your content is top notch and you have great vids. Things that motivate me to play darktide and watch content provider videos: when the game works properly, ie when the server is working good (no rubber banding or lag spikes) and teammates stick together and play as a team. I don't event mind if there are noobs, as long as they stick around close its fine, can res them. Even if the team loses due to lack of skill, its still really fun. Because playing a team game like a team. Then, I want to watch content makers in order to learn and be entertained about a game I am having fun playing. Things that demotivate me from playing darktide and stop watching content: rubber banding, lag spikes, chaos spawn, and getting clogged down by a horde. I literally watch all the teammates go down 1 by 1 then when its just me left the game stops registering my keyboard and mouse clicks. When I watch a content provider they can get away from a horde, group of crushers, or spawn. But when it's me, the game lags me out and I'm done. Or I get thrown into a corner and cloggged by a horder and can't dodge and block doesn't register. poxgas doesn't kill me often but that also demotivates. It happens so often the game just decides that the run is going to end, and then it can't seem to process all the enemies and keyboard / mouse inputs at the same time. I can't understand why this doesn't get fixed because literally this is the worst thing. When I luck out and get a good server, I skate across the map with impunity, could pour a cup of coffee between the hit sound and getting hit, can dodge everything and and it's like having god-mode and the run goes great. When the servers are bad, it's like running in mud and swinging a sword, dodging etc, under water, (if it even registers the dodge at all) and makes it very difficult to even survive let alone enjoy the run. If a teammate decides to go rambo, they just die off in the distance somewhere and make it worse. I haven't event talked about no-scope unnanounced trappers shooting through crowds, or bursters jump-bursting around corners. Or game decides that hounds that can leap clear across a map while immune to surge force staff or smite. Also demotivating.
Thank you Mr E for the great videos and being a light in the Grimdark for all this time. If you want to do something else I support that and I'll stay subscribed. Life's too short for anything else. Nevertheless, I'll still play Darktide until they shut down the servers some day. :)
I played this game like crazy when it launched. I stopped because of how unfinished it was. I keep checking up on it only to find out they still haven't fixed it 2 freaking years later.
So I have to start this by pointing out that the numbers seen in the graph are just the Steam players, not the total number of players. There's also Gamepass (PC), Xbox and PS5. Gamepass used to be about the same number as Steam, although I haven't seen numbers for ages as they're not public. PS5 are a boost, I too salute the Xbox players sticking it out. You really deserve special recognition for your efforts! My guess is that the real total numbers are about 3 times what the steam chart shows, maybe slightly less. Still, not great to see a drop and I remember the famine times when Steam was down to 2000 players and nearly all UA-cam content creators understandably left for other things. Some like Reginald doing it heartbrokenly hoping to return. It was just sad, dark times. Mr E you filled that void and like the Astronomicon guided our path when nearly all else had left. I'll always be thankful for that. I hope you have the energy to keep doing it but I'd understand it if you some day don't. I hope FS won't drop the ball like that again. I realy hope so. Because the steam numbers are indicators of a trend and Idk why FS aren't managing this better. The 40K Grimdark IP is just magnificent and full of potential where they could go with it. I say this as probably the most loyal player of DT on the planet. I hope for Darktide and despite the Xbox problems we're in a far better place today with crafting and all that than it was. The Devs, and I've even met some and they too love the game, are doing the Emperors' work so this is an issue with management level where they need to step up and do this right.
I’m just waiting for DLSS 4 to drop officially in Darktide, totally agree with the lack of content but the gameplay is so addictive than I can’t leave, few things give you the rush that completing a havoc 40 does
it must be nice to be a Swedish developer and just not giving af - maybe its just a super fun place to live and spending time with family and friends is WAY more important than working idk but this is their pattern, for years, since vermintide 1 (mods coming soon!)
I have started darktide in august 2024, and accumulated about 800 hours of active gametime. I enjoy it so far, but i have ample alternatives ready should i get bored. For one, Coreyloses of the Empire at ear Community will drop the revans revenge mod on Jan. 30th and on the other hand i got gifted the midieval 2 complete edition on steam, which ive never played before so i got loads of content there in can explore. Nevermind the fact that i seriously consider playing minecraft, which i have never done before. So if darktide doesnt deliver, ill just pack my bundle and leave. And i reckon most of my peers will follow suit.
Already been up and down this roller coaster and thankfully there’s no hate for farshark where there use to be for me im just apathetic and expect a shutdown everyday so I’m just vibing
Mr. DisEpointed. You're probably going to play Monster Hunter Wilds right? New beta coming Feb 6-9. Going to have an additional monster to hunt. Hopefully they've done some extra optimization.
Brother, I feel you. They really need to take a page from what Saber is doing with Space Marine 2. At least they provide us with a roadmap and monthly updates on their progress. The same goes for the cash shop and the mission structure. I don't understand why they don't just emulate what they did in Vermintide and give us a catalog to buy what we want, instead of this FOMO nonsense. On top of that, the mission board is poorly done. I can go days without seeing a mission, which is frustrating, especially when they release a new one and I can't even play it.
It be nice if they release a new class like the inquisitor class where you can summon a servator just like the necromancer can summon skeletons. The move set could be similar to a maniac. When you upgrade it you can go down 3 paths. Where you change the servator to a healer or tank or dps
The thing that sucks is that since it has dedicated servers they have to run, too few people might see the servers get shut down. Unlike Vermintide where it was p2p and little server cost other than matchmaking server. Hopefully before they shut down servers they allow us to run our own dedicated servers like killing floor 2.
I think the reason ive been tolerating what fatshark has been doing with darktide is because i used to play the hell out of red dead online i put a solid 4 years of my life into that game and as we all know that game was constantly being left in the dark with no news of updates and being filled with bugs and eventually being abandoned all together. I can understand people being frustrated with no updates every 3-4 months but in my opinion its not that crazy
I really enjoy this game a lot and I love when they actually update it but there’s always been problems with FatShark and it’s not going to be fixed for a while if at all while it matters. If you end up changing games for your channel that’s a good thing! You can play multiple games and still cover this when it comes up. I hope you’re well and ready for a good 2025. Keep up the good content.
(PL) to co powinien fatshark zrobić to danie nażędzi deweloperskich graczom by sami mogli tworzyć mapy bronie itd. (tak jak w TF2) (ENG) what fatshark should do is give development tools to players so they can create maps weapons etc. (like in TF2)
On the flip side, as someone who really doesn't want another live service 'you have to be here every week and commit to a video game', I quite like knowing DarkTide is just hanging out in my library, I'm not missing anything, I enjoyed my time with it, can live in peace without worrying about it, and every time I want to rediscover that 'Left4Dead' feeling gameplay, I can download it and hop in, and can pick it up where I left off. Now sure, it would always be cooler to return and find new maps and skills and weapons and enemies have been added to the game, but I really do like that there's no other drives trying to strong arm me into logging in
darktide is a game i've had technical issues with since beta and i've always enjoyed it in spite of that, but sometimes the game is actually just unplayable and as much as i want to enjoy it i just can't. it sucks because it's such a good game when it works and is fun
I dunno, to me Helldivers 2 got old even faster than Darktide, every mission is just "complete 3 random objectives and take samples on a procedurally generated map" and that got samey very fast. Major Orders didn't help since is always "Do more samey missions so we can defend/capture this planet before the end of the order".
I’ve been wanting to get into Darktide for a while since I’ve been kinda bleeding myself dry with Space Marine 2 Though seeing this, I’m kinda hesitant to sink some hours into the game.
I think they are hoping the core gameplay mechanic will carry the game. Maps and new content are all gravy aound the core gameplay loop. Which is pretty close to the same gameplay loop vermintide has. People will grumble about no new content or updates, but I think Fatshark is betting that people keep playing because the kill-hordes-of-things gameplay loop is sound. I agree it sucks for content creation though.
Before I enjoyed Darktide more than Space Marine, but as of late I have been preferring Space Marine 2 because there's actually stuff for me to do and Darktide has no substantial updates to bring me back. I was mildly intertained with the new weapons and havoc, but there's still not much that's much different from the old stuff.
Ever since I saw u streaming Warframe I've been getting back into the game, switching back and forward between Warframe and Darktide. Not gonna lie, I feel way less compelled to play Darktide nowadays.
I imagine a large portion are on gamepass, not just Steam, plus we have console and crossplay players. I dont think its likely the game "dies" anytime soon. It is a shame though how slow they are with updates and content.
I picked up the game in early December and I played it pretty heavily for about three weeks and then just stopped wanting to even log in. Been playing some shitty gacha games (zzz) and then I started FFvii Rebirth yesterday, digging it!

We got the eyebrow fixes, boys! wrap it up, it's all we hoped and dreamed for! Now back to... wait, I got DCed, reconnecting.
Fatshark SAYS there's a skeleton crew working on Vermintide 2 and Darktide is SUPPOSED to be their main game, BUT it seems like Vermintide 2 is still getting as many or more updates than Darktide!
They left the developers with none of the managers alone to work on Vermintide 2 and it spiked productivity
Everything you said was perfectly accurate. I have over 2k hours in Vermintide 2 and I'm seeing the same exact patterns happening to Darktide.
Does that mean hopefully we’ll get a crap ton of updates in 5 years??!
Not to mention, rip-off predatory cosmetic shop.
But don’t worry, that gets new content all the time
Major push for cosmetics is due to the ten cents effect.
@@Jeddy2
I can agree with that.
I’d love to buy more cosmetics too. Make it cheaper and release more. I don’t get it, I must be missing something.
"oh boy! I heard that Ogryn got a new weapon!"
*Sobs as I realise that they just gave me the top half of a fucking twin-linked heavy stubber*
Yo DAWG we heard you like Stubbers!.... :D
No Exhibit F*ck off I want variety
"I've played this game before"
Bro if you stopped making sloptide content my heart would sink. You're my go to guy for builds and info.
hope you like marvel rivals
Ill never stop, dont worry. Just a huge bummer how uninteresting the game is rn and I’m worried that won’t change anytime soon
Vermintide 2 players: First time?
Vermintide 1 players Always Was
Rather than try to lump it all together in one 'big' update, I'd prefer if they would just give us one smaller update with content every month instead.
1000000%. Make it make sense Fatshark 🚽
True, darktide is a newer game and i thought we will get more content than VT2. Wonder if maybe VT2 makes more money?
Iirc vermintide 2 has SIGNIFICANTLY more players and people who own the game
The god emperor? Spehhs mareens? Tyranids? You must've been dreaming, come on we got rats to kill dawri
@ that’s incorrect darktide has double the players of vermintide on steam alone not including consoles.
because its a diff dev team, and they clearly care more about the game then the darktide devs do
The problem is, not only Fatshark has terrible management, but even if it were great they wouldn't be able to sustain a live-service game 'cause there's around 120 people working in the studio right now, and a sizeable portion of these devs are involved in making Versus mode for Vermintide 2.
This is the way of Fatshark, 6 years from now, the game may finally be in a good state and will have amassed a ton of content that was drip fed
Anything.
Bad management means no work is done, the same thing that happened with blizzard.
on a serious note, play whatever feels right.
We are still called Rejects.... ☠️

It's OK, guys, just play with nothing but dueling sword for another 3 years, because there's nothing like it that gets the job done on Havoc. It'll get its nerf by then, when it's time to sell those pay2win classes and weapons because the game isn't making Tencent money anymore.
Ogryn: no nerf this time ? Luv me emprah
Can you believe Fatshark has 180 employees? I wonder what they do.
Release content for Vermintide
It maybe negative but I viciously disagreed with the idea of a winter break when you put out game breaking bugs. You have a responsibility to your game you just dropped on a new platform. Missing missions, Veteran content desert, balancing issues, GAS, every step forward leads to them stumbling down the stairs.
I hate that I love this game.
Penetration of the soul still broken since it released, still a better talent to take than empyric resolve
Fatshark really feels like they take their customers as a given and it shows
Meanwhile vermintide had 2 maps releases in less than 3 months, how is a skeleton crew more competent than the main darktide team is insane to me frankly
XBOX PLAYERS BE AWARE:
This isn’t a fix for the crashing issue yet, it’s the first update on the road to fixing it
It’s sadly only mentioned in the Official Reddit, so hard for people to know if anything or what changed
But this is technically a way for them to read how it crashes better so they can eventually fix it later
Don’t rush in and install the game back thinking you won’t crash… as it legit dashboards you home now instead of just disconnecting to main menu
I remain positive, despite the YEAR LONG WAIT, I understand that it’s probably a spaghetti mess in there, especially having crossplay, keyboard and mouse support and all the memory usage in higher difficulty
Edit: Grammar and phrasing
@@bradleyjenkins2271 wait so they made it worse?
@ it’s “better” but if dashboard, it dashboards to the home instead of main menu
That being said, it’s not THE fix yet, it’s something that’s meant to help and let them know what to do next
I wonder if Fatshark is ever going to address the fact that none of their creator program streamers got paid the money they were promised on release
Oh wow being a streamer must be so hard
❤
@hemogoblin69 hard or not doesnt matter it's just the fact that they promised them money, had them sign shit and still haven't paid them 2 years later. Granted someone like Shroud who was part of it doesn't need the money but it's still a pretty scummy thing to do regardless
I feel like all the energy goes into that awful rotation store
I would say that if so many of the skins weren't so painfully boring in a setting with sooo much to pull from
@@spencerclark6113 I am getting so bored of Mordian/Krieg gas masks or recoloured cadian helmets.
I said this on a YT community post yesterday as well, there are so many regiments to pick from:
Jannisaries, Catachans, Valhallans, Vostoryans (you can bet a bear skin hat would sell), Praetorians, Attilans, Tanith First, Lucifers
I say do what you feel is right lifes too short to pour all your creatives juices into one cup.
Sadly the youtube algorithm punishes people for doing that, it really likes and promotes channels that do a single thing over and over
Going weaves first really turned some vets away Im willing to bet.
"Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment"
Xbox is such a trash fire
Im on xbox but ive just built my pc im in the final stages of the build/setup and man i cant wait to leave xbox/console gaming as a whole
Welcome brother.
Does progress transfer? I've been playing on ps5 with my friends, but maybe I'd like to get it on pc
Yes @@temperspace
Your never regret
Same brother I just finished mine last week so I dont have to crash in this game anymore
This is the type of game i play purely for gameplay at this point because everything else outside the gameplay is 90% shit.
i mean what else is beside the gameplay?
Music is good. The build variety and combat is the reason I play. The level design and character banter is good too.
I would be that hard on them.
@@J.B.1982 the map design is dogshit vs vt2 all the maps are reused areas and assets except one actual new area/room segment per map, and dont give me that its a hive city cope idgaf its a game
Inb4 we don’t get a major update in March
I have just recently got into the train of Darktide, so while i LOVE the game itself and how it feels to fight a good fight, the strain of ObeseFish not doing it's part is something i feel heavily (give us the Heavy ogryn update damnit! And fix this crashing games!!!)
I hope they make a fix to so many issues we are having, the game has so much potential.
Been a thing for over a year sadly
The Emperor Protects…except from crashes in Xbox
My hot take "Fatshark just cut the umbilical cord of V2 to focus on DT"
big E approves of this comment
Cant believe they really had us waiting for havoc like it was gonna be some game changing update.
As a long time vermintide fan: you get used to it…
I’m just waiting for DLSS 4 to drop officially in Darktide, totally agree with the lack of content but the gameplay is so addictive than I can’t leave, few things give you the rush that completing a havoc 40 does
Time to pivot over to Vermintide. 😎👍
time for Mister Marvel Rivals.
appreciate your vids
it must be nice to be a Swedish developer and just not giving af - maybe its just a super fun place to live and spending time with family and friends is WAY more important than working idk but this is their pattern, for years, since vermintide 1 (mods coming soon!)
I am a xbox player and got tired of the server issues and went back to deep rock galactic dont know when i will be interested of trying darktide again
When I’m in a not making content for my live service game competition and my opponent is fatshark.
There was also a teaser for the teaser for the update, it was: "Febuary"
2:28 because no one cares about havoc except tryhards. %98 of the already small player base does not play havoc.
Mr. DisEpointed.
You're probably going to play Monster Hunter Wilds right? New beta coming Feb 6-9. Going to have an additional monster to hunt. Hopefully they've done some extra optimization.
The day this patch went live, I played and got crashed to my Console's home screen.
Hi fellow sloptiders
The thing that sucks is that since it has dedicated servers they have to run, too few people might see the servers get shut down. Unlike Vermintide where it was p2p and little server cost other than matchmaking server. Hopefully before they shut down servers they allow us to run our own dedicated servers like killing floor 2.
Yeah we’re not seeing new content till June. May have something small and pointless around March/April but game is pretty much abandoned till then.
the last time I was actually happy for fatsharks content was the release of Chaos Wastes in VT2. I've felt nothing but disappointment since then.
I think the reason ive been tolerating what fatshark has been doing with darktide is because i used to play the hell out of red dead online i put a solid 4 years of my life into that game and as we all know that game was constantly being left in the dark with no news of updates and being filled with bugs and eventually being abandoned all together. I can understand people being frustrated with no updates every 3-4 months but in my opinion its not that crazy
you should play barony, maybe not your type of game, but it is definitely insane
(tak jak w TF2)
(ENG) what fatshark should do is give development tools to players so they can create maps weapons etc.
Now sure, it would always be cooler to return and find new maps and skills and weapons and enemies have been added to the game, but I really do like that there's no other drives trying to strong arm me into logging in
This is a massive Cope, you must be from the subreddit
@@PKDeviluke25true everyone should have your opinion ONLY
darktide is a game i've had technical issues with since beta and i've always enjoyed it in spite of that, but sometimes the game is actually just unplayable and as much as i want to enjoy it i just can't. it sucks because it's such a good game when it works and is fun
It's worth noting that Helldivers2 came out on Feb 8, 2024
I dunno, to me Helldivers 2 got old even faster than Darktide, every mission is just "complete 3 random objectives and take samples on a procedurally generated map" and that got samey very fast. Major Orders didn't help since is always "Do more samey missions so we can defend/capture this planet before the end of the order".
I just wish that the difficulty of this game didn't originate from mass shooters that have been buffed to oblivion.
I’ve been wanting to get into Darktide for a while since I’ve been kinda bleeding myself dry with Space Marine 2
Though seeing this, I’m kinda hesitant to sink some hours into the game.
Xbox chrashes have been hapening since it released and the update has helped so sooooooo much
I absolutely understand you. Cover some other games too
not your fault that fat shark basically put this game on ice. would like to see your thoughts on other games if that’s what you choose
Ehh space marine 2 is good but I'm running oit of things to do in it just like darktide
the serbian strategy build might make you feel something, dont forget to check it out next time im on stream!!
if this game dosent get the QOL vt2 does and actual new content i think its actually dead
YEA! Its not like they didnt have YEARS of experience prior to this launch working and improving the exact same game but with SKAVEN???
The same exact devs dont work on both games, there is shared code and collaboration, but they arent the same exact people making both games.
For a moment i tought i couldnt buy something from the shop.... I checked and Im glad to see i can loose my whole paycheck on cosmetics🤡
I love darktide and i hope they deliver consistently enough to keep this game living. The bar and my hope is low though.
Ever since I saw u streaming Warframe I've been getting back into the game, switching back and forward between Warframe and Darktide. Not gonna lie, I feel way less compelled to play Darktide nowadays.
The xbox crashing bug has been a thing since its been out on xbox lol. Theres not a time I remember where it wasnt crashing.
I imagine a large portion are on gamepass, not just Steam, plus we have console and crossplay players. I dont think its likely the game "dies" anytime soon. It is a shame though how slow they are with updates and content.
Sad, but I’ll look forward to playing with my 2500-3000 homies.
Just fat shark doing fat shark things unfortunately
I picked up the game in early December and I played it pretty heavily for about three weeks and then just stopped wanting to even log in. Been playing some shitty gacha games (zzz) and then I started FFvii Rebirth yesterday, digging it!
