This tune has an unreal amount of beauty, each note Koz plays contains so much life and the arrangement around it turns this simple idea into an really accomplished and gorgeous piece of music. Among my top 3 songs of yours, sir, thank you 🙏
I LOVE my Cory Wong plug-in!! Hella clean, super versatile, plays well with others from sparkle jangles to doom metal! This melody line is soooo dope!!
Love the insight, humor, appreciation for the subtilties and back story to the tunes on that great album collaboration. Bravo and Congratualions! I'm so happy for you guys and the amazing music you've put out these past few years. I can't wait to hear what is next
duplicate the bari sax channel. put the archetype cory wong plugin on the duplicate track. turn on the envelope filter and both overdrives in the plugin. BOOM!
@@CoryWongMusic I know the song isn't in this album, but who are the soloists in Lee? I've almost learned all 3, they are amazing and the mixing and overall sound are among the best you've ever put out, love that song.
I've been playing guitar since I'm 16 year's old..... I'm 70 now and can't relate to how you use computers to record......seems so artificial to me ....nothing like live music and live recording .....would like to see you go more into depth on how you record your tunes.....live
"if this isn't playing in at least 5000 elevators by year 2024 I'm gonna be pissed" man you got me in tears
44 minutes AND the legendary michael nelson? DOPE! Get that ad revenue, Cory. Looking forward to the next one.
i love the horn arrangements by Michael Nelson!
I love when Patar is there, and Mike just adds another level of awesome.

I had such a rough day and this video made me smile so much I started crying
I was waiting for a Michael Nelson appearance ON THE ONE! This is album awesome! You are my favourite artist!
gotta say: what really holds the song together for me is that smooth smooth organ.
Gotta love the “Four” quote in the sax.
Cory never dumbs it down. I love how he assumes the musical intelligence of the audience. How many musicians do this?
The John Mayer voicing referenced at 8:50 have to be from No Such Thing, right?
Yeah
Yay, a new episode! And Mike Nelson too. These always point out more to like about the songs.
Great conversation. Today and the golden hour are my two favorites, but the whole album is money🔥
Two Words.
Musical Genius.
YESSSS
also, the Dave impersonation at 5:45 is killing me 🤣
@VILLAFUERTE, John Christian also a delight lol

Love the Wong Mix. So tight.
That album is a Masterpiece!
Amazing in every way!
This is so brilliant to share the making of the sausage. The horn arrangements is awesome!!!
My favorite song too
I just love this album!
I NEED to know how you guys made the Baritone sax solo in Getaway Car, PLEASE Cory!!!
duplicate the bari sax channel. put the archetype cory wong plugin on the duplicate track. turn on the envelope filter and both overdrives in the plugin. BOOM!

@@CoryWongMusic I had kinda guessed it but good to have confirmation, monster solos my man and thanks for the reply.
@@CoryWongMusic shouldn't Cory Wong archetype plug-in be in all caps?😜
I love watching these videos. so much fun. you guys are sick.
great episode!
hell yeah Michael Nelson!
Now I want Michael Nelson arrangements for Some Kind of Monster/St.Anger (or S&M!). While at it, Cory can fix that bloody snare :D
I rly enjoy these "behind the song production"-videos. You guys are just amazing. This passion, this knowledge, this skill - that is FUN!
Love your stuff, please never stop!!
Yeah man
my favourite series!!
You guys are awesome!
Petar is amazing 😃
What's the jazz standard that he's quoting at 40:32?
I like the synchronized head boping at 21:25
5:28 Koz playing a Miles Davis tune for a bit
Double bell euphonium shoutout! 🤩
wait, there was no mention of Theo Katzman when showing off those new glasses?!
Also, brilliant track, thanks for the breakdown!
obviously it's not an accident, but i love the fact that the show's intro is a count-in and then the actual show starts "on the one"
This HAS to be the most quiet sweatshirt he ever wore to these...the smooth changes people...
For the record I also love the wong cut (Secret release plox)
Full Wong cut? I'll pay extra
It would be wong to miss this
Love it lmao
hey cory, wheres the sweater from?
I wanna know too!!
My exact same question too.
Nelson is a master
I come for the production tips. I stay for the Some Kind of Monster references.
Where is the link below for the plug-in?
Gotta get that Newstead love. It's important
Please do one on “Feed the Id”
I want that PARFAIT jumper. Where did you get it, Cory?
IEMs in the control room?
that way we don't have to have the monitors on and mess with the microphone picking up our voices
@@CoryWongMusic I respect it
So a song with john scofield!
This track giving silk sonic a run for their money😎
It's 2024, has anyone counted if this is running in 5000 elevators @22.20? Still a killer tune!
Not a necessity but I'd love to see future episodes on tunes like "Feed the Idd" and "Getaway Car"
For the sax sound, I like the more reverb sounds better.. But for other instruments (guitar, drums etc) I like the drier sound
bunkers drop 34:00
What shirt is Michael wearing?
it says Future FUNK and has some Japanese lettering below it.
idiot detective is gonna have a FIELD DAY with all this blood on your hands...
What program does he use to edit these videos ??
What kind of software your recording on. It sounds amazing
Demo on Logic Pro X, session on avid protools
6:51 That's called a sexy smolder. Some guys can pull that shit off. Not me..
Let's do On the One for the One
You can hear the B3 so much better in Cory's mix. And I like the drums better.
When Al Green meets Kenny G in an elevator :)
YESSIR
I hope you guys put Today mixed the Wong way up on all the various streaming platforms with Distrokid
brought to you by tangerine la croix
I wouldnt discount deezer. They are doing some great stuff trying to incorporate a user centric model for distributing money.
deezer is dope. it just hasn't seemed to be as widespread in the US yet!
Sounds bit old like SpyroGrya , but cool though.
Don't listen to these guys. The glasses looked sweet.

we recorded the song all live in one room! computer was just used to capture it and mix
How would you record live music, John?
Don't mean for this to sound rude or snappy, I'm truly just wondering. :-)
I love learning about all the different ways that you can record things.
Too clean
