Can we all please appreciate HOW MUCH quality content has Mr. Wong been publishing lately?!
Finally music from real musicians
What a find! Damnit this is fantastic
we definitely can, or better, we have to!
One year later, and he just can't stop. Seeing him live next week. I, for one, appreciate it so much.
He’s about all I can listen to, for the last year now. Saw the Wong Notes live last month. I’m in! I’m a 69 yr old former weekender musician. I so appreciate something so new in my life.
For those wondering, this appears to be the Jubilee II out of Stillwater River Boats. That places this on Lake St Croix (which is really just a wide part of the St Croix river). I wish I had known this in advance of recording as it's like 15 minutes from my house :D
Thanks for that. I was wondering 🤔
Wherever Cory is, Petar is. You don't let a drummer like that out of your sight. And vice versa.
Why this doesn't have a million hits by now is beyond me. It's simply beautiful.
8:07 Cory Wong turns his head towards Dave Koz in anticipation of "The Nod" from the master, after pouring his soul into the most beautiful solo of his life.
Nice to see others noticed this is one of Cory's most powerful performances.
My mans removed the flex tape from the pickup selector switch.
It's like Goku taking of his weighted clothes.
2nd position!
hahahahaha
@Harrison Mair Loveless. Nice.
*cory switches to the BRIDGE pickup*
NANI??
Rock lee taking off his weights
"This is what happens when you become friends with Satriani" - his wholesome mom probably
That is the most beautiful musical piece I've heard in a long, long time. Inspired me to play cleaner and more daily. Thanks Cory for the much needed inspiration.
Incredible. Crying. Laughing. Smiling.
This performance proves that an instrumental track can move you to tears...
I have found the most difficult guitar playing is the very quietest notes/chords. Nearly anyone can tap a distortion or fuzz pedal, use the wah and crank up the volume and sound great, but it takes a certain expert, a certain professional to play quietly. Cory does just that. Amazing, wonderful, and a tone to bring a smile to Mother Nature.
This makes me happy!
Be sure to invite Joe Dart onto the ocean so we can all have sea bass.
😜😂😂😂🙌👌
I've been learning about the Eulers recently.
They are the biggest rivals to the Steelers in the NFL.
@@aaaaaa2206 Nice 👌
Extraordinario!!!!!!!!!! 🎉🎉👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Heck, where have I been to not hear this?!
Perfection.
Inspo from the other side of the pearly gates …
👌🏽
I’m just happy Cory finally decided to use a Tube Screamer! Overdrive is bliss!
Cory!!!!! Letting it out!!! Brother, that's some epic stuff.
Came for the rhythm guitar. Stayed for the lead guitar.
On lead, he sounds exactly like you'd expect: You won't hear anything you haven't heard before and heard a lot, but you'll hear it played PERFECTLY. Perfect timing, perfect taste, perfect note choice, perfect space left with pauses and rests - he's a guy who could stand on a stage with any of the Motown Funk Bros., the LA Wrecking Crew, the Nashville A-Team, the Muscle Shoals Swampers, or Booker T. & Co., and absolutely belong there.
Perfectly complemented by the excellent bass player.
Came after the lead guitar.
Absolutely
Could’a swung a bit harder, or laid back. Or not - killer, Corey!
I must confess that this composition is perfect, beautiful melody, original harmony, well thought out, mature, wise. Bravo👍
Seeing Cory in January...insurmountably excited. I'm not even sure if that's a word but its the only thing that can come close to describing my feelings rn
This is the only "place" I have been in a while where the comments are actually positive and celebratory. I am so happy to have found this video today. More of this, less news.
I am totally speechless! Love you Cory ma man!
YOU ❤ GUYS, SHOOT MY SOUL, INTO THE HAPPY HEAVENS!!❤ WAY, WAY, ABOVE THE STARS!!❤
Beautiful.
Killer! Love the switch from delicate clean tone to huge warm soaring lead tone. Very Eric Johnson esque
Cory that's the longest jam I ever seen you do! Awesome man! Love your stuff!
That tone! There’s no duality between Cory and that guitar.
I come back to this video every time I want to get a hit of bliss.
Never heard Cory shred like that! Almost a bit Mayer-ish😯
Cory’s always been a beast, the guy is a bassist! Of course he can shred! He has his own distinct sound when he’s playing slow, so different from Mayer’s (who sounds exactly like Eric Clapton, they’re in mids rolled back camp). Cory has some really interesting dynamics to his playing here, and it’s so subtle I had to rewatch a few times. Notice how he adjusts his tone and dials back his attack on some passages, the little lick at 1:56 sounds like a telecaster bridge, he can really dial in that bite! Also, he seems to play more open, highlighting his bass background where he’s comfortable jumping positions constantly all over the fretboard, most blues players like Mayer or Clapton play within the box and stay much longer in one position. I really like how he has just the right amount of volume and plays just enough notes to get the motif going. He’s definitely capable of faster face-melting speeds, but here he’s showing his finesse and control, which I think is much harder to pull of because he has to play clean and accurate, no dirt to hide behind with distortion or a heavy handed band. Really some amazing talent, that right hand of his is a never ending bag of tricks. I thought my fave is when he plays bass but I’m liking his style more here.
I am on a musical high "OUTSTANDING" gentlemen!
Dave Koz in your Horn section.....Dreams
I always thought of Cory as just a funk guy that can play great rhythm but this really opened my eyes
He can absolutely shred some jazz too: ua-cam.com/video/3LVtoM-f2Vw/v-deo.html
Beautiful piece. Reminds me a lot of Tedeschi Trucks Band. Like A LOT a lot.
Love this, amazing... I have listened to this over and over again!
Cory's confidence with solos is increasing. They sound awesome!
Well this is.. a little familar.
Guest guitarist next time you put it back in the set?
I was at Cory’s gig last night in Manchester and I’m like .. wtf??!! But as everyone has already said there are only 12 notes …. Depends what order you put em tho eh 😳
Not really.
crazy, youre right.
Stunning..
Love the volume control work on the bass and guitar towards the end. Hell, everyone at the end had awesome volume control.
Hit like first, started to watch after.
Amazing styles mix. Another brilliant item from Cory and his gang
Cory has become one of the most serious guitarists out there, far exceeded my expectations over the years, which were already pretty high since early VulfPeck lol
this song is transcendent
Could even feel the emotion through my phone speakers. Damn
Absolutely insane. Chills
Love this... what a player..
Country licks sliding in I wonder if we’ll ever see Cory Wong ft Brad Paisley 😜🤞
Wow. Maybe I should close my mouth now.
This mix is unreal! So good!
Thank you

Amazing, very spiritual!

Happy tears 😭💕😭💕😭💕😭💕😭💕
What an amazing song!
Wow.
Beautiful !
This reminds me a lot of Begin Againers by Scott Mulvahill, really similar main riff in the same key :D however, great performance and recording!
I knew the was something familiar about it! Love Scott Mulvahill
Pretty pretty pretty good.
only the music can save the human race
Beautiful

Rocking big bro!
Ronaldinho on the bass....solid!
Amazing Cory! 🤤
reminds me a bit of a good old Mezzoforte Single
Inspiring! Thank you!
Wow
Rarely seeing Cory doing melody and solo like this!
the man climbed mt. olympus and stole the gods' guitar tone
Excellent!!!
This is peak yacht rock
Thanks for the great tune that i already played Man!
Holy shit.
Great tune, great performance. Where else have I heard this song before?
❤️
Just epic. Is there a hint of the Edge from U2 I hear?😊😊
eargasm
Great musicianship, including the engineer. That looks like a touch venue to record
Chill... and I'm from Việt Nam !!!
Brilliant doesn't describe how fantastic this performance was! Cory, for a guy who prefers to sit back and groove, you just laid down one if the most awesome and musical solos ever!!
Petar, what drums are you playing there? They don't look like Pearls. Yammies?
If I was playing drums on this and died shortly after, I’d be ok with that.
I think he just purified the waters of Lake Minnetonka.
found this from Michael Palmisano's live stream.
2th poh-zischhhhh and im into it
🤗❤
Ugh!
With the sunset too?! Come on!!
Awesome! similar melody and vibe to Harry Styles's "From the Dining Table". love it!
You're right, great track. But I'd say it's more like "Serenity" by the temperance movement in terms of melody and vibe
Sounds like this Maria Bethânia - "Aponte"
