Yes, I make plenty of mistakes and just like you said, each mistake I learn something new "usually improvising from them". Have fun in your bespoke pen journey, enjoy the process, for me the section was the hardest part. I took the advice from a friend and made 10 in a row, now they are easy to make. Thanks for watching.
Hi John, I am doing good and recovering. I have been busy putting the finish touches on my website since my shoulder surgery. For me coding is much more difficult than it should be. I am slowly getting back in the shop and working on some proof of concept designs (shape and function) before I commit to making a new video yet. Thank you for checking in.
I've turners warehouse gets there kits from psi too all other pen kits I've seen comes straight from psi I've my research to only place I've seen with different pen kits is some company over seas
I HAVE THE CARBIDE PEN TURNING SET WITH REPLACEABLE CARBIDE CUTTERS ,,, MY QUESTION IS/ WILL THE CUTTERS YOU SHOW WILL THEY WORK ON THIS SET THAT I HAVE
Hi John, I am getting better thank you for asking. I promised my wife that I would stay out of the shop for 4 months while I recover so only a couple of weeks left. I have good rotation on my shoulder with lots of home P/T but still working on getting my strength back. Hope all is well on your end.
It took a lot of work to learn the concepts and buy the right tools to work with the tools that I have and the budget. Honestly it was not easy because there was not a lot of resources that I could find in detail how to make each component, the section being the most difficult. That is the main reason I started this channel so I can pass on the basic information how to make a bespoke pen and my techniques, all that being said this process would be better if I had a metal lathe.
Thanks Gabe for sharing your tips!
You are welcome!
Thanks, Gabe. Love your work! As someone just venturing into bespoke work, I find mistakes are inevitable but each mistake teaches.

@Exotic Wood Pen Happy Easter to and yours as well, bro! Get well soon.
@Exotic Wood Pen BTW, both of mine were done in 2006. I was forced to retire. I know that feeling well.
Only thing different over here is pen blanks
HOW HARD WAS IT TO LEARN HOW TO MAKE THESE BLANKS??????
