How I modified my No Ladder Pro MAX clips
Great work. You managed to not drop f bombs and throw tools in anger.
Thanks, I only do that off camera. Thanks for watching, I hope it helped!
What is the timestamp in the video when you put the belt back on the tentioner? I swear you go from putting the drum in to talking about the direction the drum goes to the seal on the door and you put that all together and not show the belt being hooked on before the front is all put together. You can't put the front on until you hook the belt up. Check out the video. You go from hanging the belt on the drum to putting the front back on
18:35 you can see the belt tensioner connected. It is just the opposite of how I released the tension in the video at 4:47 in the video. Think of a 10 speed gearing real wheel how the chain goes around the sprocket and that is how the tensioner works. Hope that helps, thanks for watching.
Did I miss the part where you put the belt on the tensioner at the end? You put the front on and skipped the part where you put the belt back on?
I showed that part too. It’s a little tricky so you have to check again.
An other great video, thank you.😀😀
@@JosephHarwood-o5c Thanks, much appreciated!
Hi Gabe, thanks for posting this, what an excellent way to utilize the lathe to drill. Regards and best wishes, thanks for the time you take to film edit and post your works and ideas. I have to say thanks to Gregory GFHWoodWerks who's a member of IAP for turning me onto your Channel, I'm now a subscriber and long may your ideas be fruitful for all f us - thanks for your generosity. Tony.
Thank you for the kind words and appreciate you taking the time to watch my videos. Hope they help.
I really appreciate this video. My Neptune, which I purchased around 2000 was a key member of my large family 😂 It only recently started squeaking, but having had it open previously I knew this was a very repairable dryer. Your video makes this a snap with a very clear presentation and great filming. Thank you again.
Glad the video helped, thanks for watching.
Why gorilla glue for the ebonite cap glue-up and not your standard super glue?
It should not matter what type of super glue you use, I just used what was available at the home center and had success with it so I just kept using it. I like the medium viscosity of it, without the large amount of glue.
@@exoticwoodpen thanks. I've seen that gorilla makes a urethane product that foams and wondered if that is why.
@@izgood2bking702 I would say away from the foaming gorilla glue.
Great series Gabe, where would you suggest finding a double lead tap and die?
@@izgood2bking702 Good luck finding one, I tried for a long time and ended up having to special order with a small group of people to have them made and they were not cheap. You may have to ask around on iap.
@exoticwoodpen thanks. I don't know how many would be interested in double start, but I'll try.
@@izgood2bking702 You may come across someone that has one and does not use it anymore who will sell theirs.
Fantastic video! You covered every possible step by step detail. (no worries about the disassembly, just play the video in reverse!) Nothing was left to the imagination! Your camera angles were spot on, and your timing of wide angle and closeup shots was perfection! Your narration was clear, through and concise, with no superfluous commentary. I “very rarely” ever leave a comment on UA-cam videos, except in cases like this. Being born in 1959, and starting out fixing my Schwinn Stingray, then rebuilding the Briggs & Stratton 5hp on my mini bike, and finally working up to the 350 Chevy, (and beyond) in all the cars and trucks I’ve owned in my lifetime… I really enjoyed your analogies of the “OG’s” knowing TDC, and bicycle tires! lol! I thought for sure, that you were going to compare the front rubber seal keeper (cable & spring) to the springs on the old drum brakes! Especially the emergency brake cable! lol! Thank You for sharing your skills and experience in such an informative and detailed way! You have my respect! And a new subscriber!
Thank you for the wonderful comment. I try my best to do a video that I would want to watch in a simple straight forward way without all the fluff. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment as well as subscribe. I am not an appliance repair guy but like you I have figured out how stuff works over the years by taking stuff apart even drum breaks. I mostly do woodworking and simple house repair stuff that I think that might be helpful to others and myself if I forget how I did something, then I have a reference on it. Have a great day!
@@exoticwoodpen You’re very welcome! Videos like this one deserve recognition! BTW… My first (hard) lesson in “drum brakes” was: Never… disassemble both sides at once! Because you need one side left intact, to see how they go back together! lol!
You’re a goofy ass
Excellent video, helped me immensely. Thank you! Please continue posting 👍
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching, I will post when the need to fix this happens again.
unbelievable. wow what a work and simply impressive. wish it was a fountain pen.
Thank you, actually I am planning on making a couple of these in a bespoke fountain pen real soon.
Nope. I don't have the patience. Woulda tossed it and bought a new one. Nice job!
@@aaronfitzsimmons3951 Thank you for the comment, according to the appliance repair shop this is a thing with front loaders. I didn’t realize that every month it should run a vinegar wash or afresh to prevent scrud from happening.
Thank s for making this video I have the exactly drier. My parents had this drier for a long time and was a hand me down and this year it’s super loud and just sounds horrible and I figured it was the wheels. I’ll head to my local appliance store and get these parts thank you again!
That's great. Glad this video was helpful. Pay close attention to the washers on the wheels to make sure they spin correctly. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Thank you for the complement. I will when my dryer breaks down in the future. I am just a homeowner not a repair guy. I fix things as needed. Thanks for watching.
25 year old dryer such a great machine the only shame is asking more of her instead of getting a new one
A lot of cars on the road that are over 25 years old. They are great machines, it’s cheaper to fix than replace for most people these days.
Thank you this very instructive video! How did you notch the cap to fit the clip bend?
I used a miniature back saw to make the cuts and then clean it out so it was flush with a metal file.
Question - if you accidentally nick the end of the body sleeve where the threads would go in, and it gets a small chip in it when it's already got the hole in it, how would you make that end square again? I imagine it's too thin for a parting tool. I'm thinking of sanding it somehow?
You can use a Dremel tool with a sanding drum or a piece of sandpaper backed by a solid piece of wood to make sure it’s flat. The Dremel tool with a drum sander you can use like a parting tool. Just start on the outside and work your way in. I hope that helps.
@@exoticwoodpen Great, excellent, thank you!
@@cjenkins5662 You’re welcome.
Love it I learn so much from this video thanks ❤❤❤

HI, I loved your video. It looked straight forward but I'm not sure my husband and I could do it ourselves? What kind of service person would be able to do this for us and put on a new gasket too. We have the same model and ours is 22 years old. How do I clean out the drain. It is in front right? Thank you so much.
Thanks for watching, I would look for an appliance repair service in my area they will be able to handle everything.
Hi I was wondering if you know what color the ground wire is from the machine I'm trying to hook up a 4 prong cord and it ain't going great

Thanks for putting the part number at the beginning of your video!

@@exoticwoodpen it did and it worked for about 5 opening and closing. Then it decided to not work again! Looks like I’m buying a new one (however the OE is on national back order)
@@1tbtoolsthanks, bummer that didn’t work for more than 5 trys. I found that when I tried to order it, it was on back order then. You might want to take it apart and see what happened and give it another shot.
@@exoticwoodpen my worry is the only way to get it open now is to gain entry through the access door and cut off the weld tacks of the striker bar (latch)
@@1tbtools Hope you don't have to go thru all that.
Helpful video, thanks. Folks, when you take your dryer apart, pay special attention to the blower seal (gasket where the front of the dryer meets the blower fan). Mine was stretched out beyond re-installation. The replacement part for my Maytag MDE4000AYW is no longer available anywhare. I lucked into a resale of one on ebay, but if I hadn't found a suitable replacement, replacing the drum rollers/axles, drum belt, and felt seal would have been too much time and money down the drain. Be forewarned and check your blower seal to find out if it is still in good shape before you open up those replacement parts.
Thank you for the tip, appreciate you commenting on this.
Can you share the part number for the gray seal you replaced? I have the same washer & it’s in desperate need of a deep cleaning.
The part I bought was in the description. Thanks for watching. Amazon : 12002533 Quality Supply Door Boot Gasket for Various Washer Models with Drain Port 22003070, 12001772, 12001876, 22001978, 2200307

Thanks for the video. I have Neptune since 2001 and water was not draining. I was going to buy a new machine but now I know it just needs to be cleaned!!😅
@@meiyang5969 Great news, hope the cleaning helps.
Very grateful to have found this video. I have this exact model of dryer and it's been squealing like crazy. Just ordered some parts so I can attempt this over the weekend!
Great, just pay attention on how the drum wheels spin and the amount of washers you use. You want to make sure the wheels spin freely.
An awful lot of screws to assume
Not really, lay them out side by side in the order you remove them.
The USB part was really unique. How did you set the USB drive in the ebonite?
Thanks, here is what you are looking for. ua-cam.com/video/jGXwNwRhhH8/v-deo.htmlsi=3y7SHEUnwskcTKZJ
Is there a trick to get the belt on?
No, it's just the reverse of taking it off, thing of it as a 10 speed bike chain gear tensioner.
Thanks used a 1 1/2 " just didn't look right.
Love this one what size hole saw are you using
@@indstumpjumper 2 inch hole saw

What sort of base did you put the marble top on? I have a travertine table that split in half, but it's a pedastol and I'm nervous the plywood won't reinforce both ends weel enough to prevent from splitting. Did you table stay together?
I used 3/4@ plywood and the table is still use, the plywood has reinforced it and has not come apart.
Thanks for sharing 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for watching.
The fact that a huge number of "makers sell on price" is so annoying. Price chopping just bastadises any industry or hobby, which destroys those making an honest living and drives the real professionals out of the market taking their pro knowledge with them.... eventually leaving those left behind making no money, also leaving and collapsing the entire product range. Once a makers quality, fair priced (honest living), product has disappeared from the marketplace , it's extremely difficult to gain back buyers trust as makers just become seen as fly by nighters that dont offer backup service therefore might as well stick to their $2 coin shop pens. Cheap cut throat ribbish product sellers have a lot to answer for
Thats for sure, I haven't done "Craft Shows", might as well call them Crap Shows for the fly by nighters out there. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thank you for your video, one of the best diy tutorials I've watched.
Wonderful video, I have been enjoying all your teaching of techniques. I was wondering where you get Japanese Ebonite or any of the ebonite you use? I have been making and selling pens for about 4 years. I have mostly made wood or acrylic pens. My bespoke pens are all acrylic and I want to start making some with wood so I would like to try the sleeve technique you have shown. Thanks
Thank you for the comment and for watching my videos. I get my ebonite and acrylic rods from vermontfreehand.com
Thank you for the information and again I enjoy your videos
You are welcome.
Thank you so much! I was going to just take mine apart and apply some lube but used your link to buy the kit and replace the parts instead.

hose clamp! clever!
Thanks, I like to keep things simple. Thanks for watching.
Will the polishing compound that you used last a long time, or will it fade away quite easily with daily use of the pen? And do you know how this polishing compound will react to hand oils and sweat?
I use HUT Wax for finishing, it works great, the finish lasts a long time even with extended use. As far as sweat goes I don't know...
Is there a simple way to check the drain hose for clogs? I have a stacking unit and taking it out to access the back will be VERY difficult. The washer isn't draining -- it's trying to. But now sounds like gravel spinning or something trapped rather than the drum smoothly gliding.
I don't know how to check for a drain hose clog. I have never owned a stacking unit. Sorry I can't be of any help in this area.
@@exoticwoodpen Ok. Thank you. It's a MAYTAG NEPTUNE TM SUPER STACK SL-3 ... and the inner assembly looks to be the same/similar so I thought perhaps you'd know. WHat you did show helped me a lot, but I'm still stumped by how to clean the filter :( ... Thanks for getting back to me.
