Btw your stoppers should be on your reins not on your martingale. The purpose of stoppers is to stop the metal loops of the running martingale from sliding too far up to the point where they reach closer to the bit.
Rein stoppers need to be on the reins, not the leather with the metal rings. The rein stoppers prevent the rings from getting caught by the horses bit.
can you do a video where you talk about what happened you are so amazing I miss you and you helped me pave my way to 9 years of horse riding and training😃🏇🏇
the whole point of having the reins over the head is so that you have control. there is no need to put the halter on the horses neck. also rein stops go on the reins
I think that since we have only one aisle and there are 9 stalls on each side it is just to much to have to undo the ties each time a horse wants to go through
Thank you so much for that... I just wished you had placed the camera closed so we could actually see how your doing it.... Many functional Youth has issues with verbal instructions... Just something to consider. But... Nice video 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I don't know if you have made or have already been requested about ( what to look for when finding a stable to keep your horse) but if you can that will be nice. Thanks
+Elizabeth Winterforest I know... I've let you all down! Unfortunately Noah's had to be retired so I can't do anything but walk around on him. I'm going to have to get creative on how to do new videos!
Your rein stops are suppose to be on the reins not the martingale. With them where you have them they will not prevent the loop from catching on the hook or buckle of the reins which could be very dangerous. Safe riding :)
Does the thing that go around the horses neck have to be there like can it just hook to the girth like a tie down I’ve seen people ride without it just wondering
Hey ali I was wondering if you have any other tips for the two point position when trotting because I can't seem to stay up in the saddle and I don't know how far to go up.. your videos really help me I am just so confused!
I think what you're describing is called "posting." That's different than two-point, because in two-point, you are actually out of the saddle and much more forward (it's a position for jumping and galloping). Posting is for normal trotting around, and you stay centered in the saddle.
The best way to get better at two-point is to keep doing it ;) It takes lots and lots of practice! You also have to have strong core muscles and strong leg muscles, so doing exercises out of the saddle, like plank holds, squats, lunges and calf raises really help. Your knees shouldn't be straight, they should have a nice bend in them, so don't stand up too far. But your behind should definitely be well clear of the saddle. If you're falling forward, make sure that your stirrups are short enough, and that you are moving your hips backwards as you bend at the waist. If you're falling backward, make sure you're keeping your lower leg underneath you. I also have a video called "The basics of two point (half seat) that might also help! Happy trails!
I had to practice two point in trot to prepare for the canter at my riding lesson. At that point I wasn't sure how to do two point but I get it now. I understand posting and even though it sounds like that was my question I did mean two point because my teacher said it would help me keep my heels down.
I know! Noah has been mostly retired due to a permanent injury to his hind legs... I've got some old footage still, I should make a few more videos! It's so kind that people care there are no new videos...
+Chloe Fraser (animallover11) My excuses are getting married and having to work a full-time job, but those are just excuses... Noah's had to be retired, but I'm hoping I may be able to borrow a friend's horse for more mounted videos, and Noah can stay the star of the ground work videos!
+msbabyking xoxo What happened was I got married and bought a house and Noah got hurt ;p It's been a crazy time! I'm trying to figure out how to make more videos. Sorry for abandoning everyone!
How to put a martingale on a horse..... back the horse.... if it loses.... double your stake.... and keep doubling till your horse wins..... IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN
Btw your stoppers should be on your reins not on your martingale. The purpose of stoppers is to stop the metal loops of the running martingale from sliding too far up to the point where they reach closer to the bit.
Thank goodness you're back! I missed you so much your videos are so helpful please keep uploading!
I'm so happy to see a new video, Ali! And I loved it, as usual! Please post more!

Thank you so much Ali! All of your videos have helped me lots!😊

Yeah.. but its a lot safer having your horse tied to a fixed object. Obviously horses are much bigger than us and can easily pull us.
***** well at my barn the horses are tacked up in their stalls.
Oh well see thats different. Some barns do that, my barn does it in the crossties, and some barns just do it in the aisle (:
I think that since we have only one aisle and there are 9 stalls on each side it is just to much to have to undo the ties each time a horse wants to go through
I do that, put the halter on the neck as we dont have cross ties and reins dont do much
You're back! Please keep posting videos!
