  • My main responsibility is running my FEI dressage training barn and training and teaching… but in light of all the talk about barn workers needing to make a better wage, I thought a quick video on how to clean a stall with as little waste as possible could help some barn managers to show their staff and working students how not waste shavings.
If shavings cost average $6.50/bag, and you use 6/week, thats $39/week. If you can knock that down to 3/week, you save $20/horse/week. 10horses, thats $200/week. Which wouldbe a very big raise for a barn worker doing ten stalls!!!
Im a believer in practicing what I preach, so here we go… Im cleaning the stall of the dirtiest horse in the barn. On video. With a very flattering wide angle view!!! Lol.
PS! My wheelbarrow was already half full when I started the stall!!
    Hope this is useful!

6 bags a week? For one horse horse or all the stalls?
