I love your video! Great job! I'm currently working on a documentary titled, "Can Mushrooms Save the Planet? Among Us, Fungus" I believe that growing mushrooms are an answer to some of the issues on our planet having to do with starvation. Kits like this make it easy for growth, and I think more people need to know about this sort of thing. Cheers!
I'm with you, I'd want to know exactly what the growing medium is. Most people don't even know that mushrooms bought in most supermarkets are grown in a cow manure mix, thinking that the mushrooms just have dirt (soil) on them, and therefore they aren't very particular about how they clean them I saw a video about a kit that uses coffee grounds only, that's sound more to my liking.
Thanks for another informative video. :) I was wondering if you could purposefully let some of the mushrooms go to spore and use that spore to propagate more mushroom patches on fresh bedding material? Can they be grown on a different medium like coffee grounds? Does it depend on the mushroom type? Thanks in advance. Have a nice day. :)
It has nothing to do with the kit. An explanation of why you don't want to eat raw mushrooms, in general, is given in a reply further down the comment page. This applies to home-grown mushrooms and wild-harvested mushrooms like morels.
If making from scratch without a kit, is it healthy to grow oyster mushrooms with used coffee ground? I have seen videos and read articles where it's used, but since I avoid coffee and caffeine, I am reluctant to use it. Especially knowing mushrooms are very absorbent.
That looks like so much fun! great video. I'm so glad you showed the results. It's fun to see how you start, but to see them all grown is just wonderful. May I ask why you said to "always cook your mushrooms?" We eat mushrooms fresh in salad a lot. Is that not good to do?
its not very often im impressed but this video certainly would make anyone think I need to ask - have you checked out the website called gregs mushroom grower look for it on google
If you don't use all the mushrooms how do you save the spores to regenerate more mushrooms without having to buy another kit and what to add to soil for the 2cd generation.
So what does the substrate contain? Does it contain feather meal or some other contaminated garbage? The "organic" ideal is completely undermined by the fact that non-organic rendered animal products are allowed to be used as fertilizers. Does anyone care that most chicken by-products (manure, feather meal, etc.) are contaminated with arsenic!?
Cheers for this, I've been looking for "selling shiitake mushrooms" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Heenyan Mushroom Organifiction - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my buddy got great results with it.
Love this, growing mushrooms indoors this would be really fun to do..
Thanks for the video. I love home grown mushrooms.

Raw mushrooms are delicious and perfectly safe. Try them in salads.
How exciting! Mushrooms growing!
Why do you say to always cook the mushrooms, is there something about the growing medium of this kit that makes them unsafe raw?

Thank you, she was great! The fabric she had around her neck was distracting, but her teaching was good

Perfect
realy good vedo for mushroom Growing

take a spore print. and make a spore syringe to inoculate new substrate
omg your the best thank you so much
where do you get the portobello mushroom kit
good video, but why do you say "always coo your mushrooms?" So you would not put raw ones in a salad? Is it bad for you?
Don't discard the tiny mushrooms. Can't you use those to make spawn bags and grow more mushroom?

WHY DOES SHE HAVE ALL THESE LARGE TOOLS?! a HUGE fork followed by a HUGE wooden spatula?
She's such a cutie.
I like what your doing, but people can do all of this at home cheaper and easier.
