I have a 17 Roadking Special with the bassani true dual down under full exhaust intake set up, recently I just had a s&s 475 cam installed and tuned and wow ... the bike sounds much more aggressive and a lot more of a roar. It’s also a lot more fun to ride now! I highly recommend it!
Best sounding exhaust for Harley by far. I have a complete set on my bike. Headers and the 4" mufflers. Opens it right up. My wife says she can hear me coming up the street 1/2 mile away.. Love these pipes
I’m stuck between these Bassanis and the Rineharts. Still haven’t found a good video like this one with the Rineharts. This video is awesome comparing stock to the Bassanis.
Awesome video. Have '18 RKS with stock exhaust. To me the stockers sound like my old Screamin' Eagles. I like the stockers as I always had issues on prior bikes with losing low/mid range torque after removing stockers. Also the stockers sound like a muscle car to me when I am twisting the wick and quiet when cruising and idling. 500-1000 mile day rides with loud exhaust gets to me after a while.
Love your bike man. Looks and sounds great. The Bassani’s with headers for me. As for the neighbors, well, you just roll off and roll on in and park. No need to feel cringe worthy, they’re all adults.
Muy buen vídeo . Me gusto mucho el handle bar, creo que esa altura da una mejor y más descansada conducción . Me gustaría saber qué opinas de ese punto. Gracias y bendiciones
I have the same pipes with the power cam. Its sick af, this video is great but it still doesn't do the system justice. Mine have a deep low tone at idel but it is LOUD even when you dont think it is.
Why the music while trying to show exhaust sound differences? Mute that shit next time. But the bike looks awesome. I need to change my bars and yours looks like the right ones.
Thanks man. I thought 8 mins of exhaust only might be kinda boring. I dropped it way to the back and left it constant... kinda like a reference. If enough people ask for it I might do like an extended "no music" version. Thanks again for checking in man. Your channel is suuuuper pro!
I just got this exact exhaust setup. Down under duals and DNT slip on’s. Kinda intimidating looking at the install? Which o2 bungs did you use? Did you run the rear pipe o2 sensor back to the rear bung? I hope I don’t scratch them up installing ! Ha
Dealer did my install 😎 you only need the larger o2 sensor if you are running a wide band tuner. My sensors fit the smaller ones, I have the fp3 tuner.
I love your roadking I want to use your setup but I dont know if my heat shields will work mine is a 2020 RG cvo and those shields have to stay with the bike thanks
You could run the dnt slip ons but the finish probably wouldn't match the heat shield/header pipe. I am not 100% on whether you can find a true dual manufacturer that will fit the heat shield actually. Might exist... I just don't know. You have a sweet bike man!!! Congrats!
You know if you would of taking off the baffles from the stock mufflers it probably would of save you money. I did it to my roadglide an I get so many compliment it sounds perfect.
You mean, replace the factory header (removing the catalytic converter) and keeping the stock muffler? Yes, that can be done. If you mean replacing the header and running your bike without any muffler at all... I guess that can physically be done but it isn't advisable.
Went in today worked up a deal for a 2019 King Special trading in my DX as I said I have a question The dealer told me I should not put after market pipes because dealers are now voiding warranties did you here that or was my dealer working toward incentives ? @@MacksMoto
@@gallor1able my dealership didn't say exactly that. They said that a bike with performance upgrades gets "flagged" and if future warranty claims can be attributed to damage caused by those upgrades... a claim could be denied. Sounds like it varies dealer to dealer.
could you tell a low end power loss difference with the true duals? I have a 19 RKS and I installed the V&H true duals and ended up taking them off right away (yes I had a FP3 on it) because of the noticeable amount of low-end power loss.. I'm guessing these new M8 engines love back pressure from the stock headers
Nice video and bike. Was it necessary to do the hi-flow intake and tune, or was it recommended? Just curious, I have the RKS 114, plenty of torque in stock form. Just looking for sound. Thanks again.
I am no mechanic... but my understanding is that removing the cat/replacing headers necessitated the intake upgrade and a tune is required whenever you mess with airflow.
I’ve 103 stock road king classic with stock headers and titan 4.5 slip ons, getting the bassani 2x2 headers my question is will it be much louder, I really just want the bike to breath better, thanks
Breath better? Yes. Headers shouldn't necessarily make your bike louder, but removing the catalytic converter definitely opens things up. My bike plays better in higher Rev ranges and lower gears since I went true duals.

Mack, Question: The DNTs can be mounted with stock air and headers yes? and the always ever popular question can I do that without a tuner? my 2019 should arrive next week and Im torn on exhaust.. Best Regards
I beleive so, yes on both counts. My dealership installed and there was a mix up at first. I believe that the stock headers for the 2017+ have different size outlets.... my dealer originally ordered pre-2017 headers and 2018 DNT's and had to re-order the DNTs because the 2018's didn't fit the older headers.
Just bought that exhaust set up for my 2019 roadglide special, what tuner are you using? And did you have to use any special parameters? I bought the steaming eagle pro street tuner, scared of voiding the warrante
Hey Lucas, how did the screaming eagle pro tuner work with your exhaust? I was thinking of the same setup so I don't mess with the warranty but have recently heard the se tuner might not tune well with the aftermarket headers. Did you get the true dual headers?
I just got my stage 2 installed with the same set up. OMG! Your video is very misleading as far as how loud they really are in person. You did give a warning, but I saw a comparison video and it seemed like they were not as loud as other pipes. Just as loud and in some cases louder. I'm happy though.
