Salvador Sanchez - Was a Mexican professional boxer born in the town of Santiago Tianguistenco, Estado de México. Sanchez was the WBC and lineal Featherweight champion from 1980 to 1982. Many of his contemporaries as well as boxing writers believe that had it not been for his premature death, Sánchez could have gone on to become the greatest Featherweight boxer of all time. He was well known for his incredible conditioning and excellent composure in the ring, Sánchez often never changed expression. Nicknamed "Chava", he held victories over multiple world champions including; Wilfredo Gomez, Danny Lopez, Azumah Nelson and Juan LaPorte. Sánchez died on August 12, 1982 in a car accident from Querétaro to San Luis Potosí. He is also the uncle of Salvador Sánchez II. He ultimately finished his career 44-1-1 and was posthumously inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1991. Truly one of the greatest fighters in history P4P.

One of the greatest Featherweight champions in boxing history! Sanchez was the full package, he's up there as one of the most complete boxers I've ever seen. Who knows what he could have gone on to achieve had he not died at such a young age. www.patreon.com/haNZAgod
haNZAgod you are the best bro. Please more videos
Another masterpiece, bro. Keep them coming... AND WHAT A FIGHTER!
Him vs Arguello would have been a war.
@ged glancy he is one of the greatest pound for pound of all time id put him in my top ten
I concur.... and his career was barely starting... Imagine what he could have accomplished if he lived his whole life span???
Unbelievable how someone can die so young yet still leave behind such a great legacy, what a fighter
Yes what a fighter he was, and very humble.
Salvador is my favorite boxer of all time! I can't imagine how much more he could accomplish. Generally speaking, great boxers reach their prime at 28 or 29. (Sugar Ray, Robinson, Ali, Marvin, etc) Imagine this specimen at that age.
Ice Maxwell he could have been the GOAT but sadly we’ll never truly know what he would’ve done. R.I.P champ.
He is my favorite Mexican fighter of all time. A complete package, a pugilistic immortal.
And this is an amazing highlight! Thanks for this amazing tribute.
Glad you like it :)

Every time I watch a video on Salvador I feel an overwhelming sadness. What a titan of the sport. I hope that he's still training with all of those passed on greats in that neverending squared circle in the sky.
Yeah I know what you mean, such a sad story but what a great fighter he was.
@@hanzagod Truly.
I'm pretty sure GOD wanted to meet his creation in person so bad, that's what he just gave us a little taste of Salvador Sánchez.
Well said...
He wasn’t among us. A perfect fighter, Salvador Sanchez was on a whole different level.
That's right
Tristan Daniel you called that 100%.
If it weren’t for his untimely death he might’ve went on to be the greatest boxer of all time. He was only 23 and had wins over Danny Lopez twice, Azumah Nelson, and Wilfredo Gomez. All by knockout.
and juan laporte
He KO the best African boxer of all times and the Best Puerto Rican Boxer of all times...
Factzzzzz 🥊🥊
totally out boxing them before he finished them off
Some people say he was at his peak at 23 Bc of all the fights he had . I doubt that I thank he had another great 5 years left . Man we can only wonder . Greatest Mexican of all time and I honestly believe he could’ve would’ve should’ve been up there with Ali and Robinson ! War sanchez !
Boxing man 😢. A real legend
we never got to see his prime
Fucking shit ur right! Imagine a 28 year old primed Salvador Sanchez omg. He would of no doubt conquered everybody and never be defeated. The thought of him getting better wow thats crazy good. The man was out of this world for realz.
@@andrewhunter5471 facts.
Without a doubt. His amateur 'career' apparently only consisted of 4 fights. He was still picking up ring experience so to speak, even in his last fight against Nelson. Freakish talent.
Mark Norris 4 fights!!! Holy shit this man was made for boxing, we were robbed of the greatest fighter in history!
It depends, back in the day with fighting more frequently, more rounds, better opposition and not as much ducking some fighters aged allot faster. Remember everyone felt Tyson's best years were his early 20s.
One day God was bored watching boxing and said to himself "I'm going to create the perfect boxer". That day Salvador Sánchez was born.
In my opinion sugar ray Robinson was the most gifted fighter of all time. But no disrespect to Salvador Sanchez, he was great.
@@becool5706 How many hall of famers did Ray beat at 23?? I respect your opinion but I totally disagree.
@@fdkfskfkvmk441254741 I said he was the most gifted. I didn't say he had a better resume. But ray fought alot of hall of famers. In fact many people say his time was the most competitive and dangerous in the history of the sport... but aside from all that being the most gifted (speed, power, footwork, balance, infighting, outfighting, ect ect) Is skill oriented, but that doesn't make someone better necessarily... take marciano for example. Everyone he fought had better skills. But he beat them all. And knocked out most of them. See what I'm trying to say?
@@becool5706 robinson got hit alot , sanchez was way more skilled
@@daniaalali4658 I disagree. Robinsons record is truly remarkable Givin the amount of fights he had and who he fought. But resume is not the discussion here. Many boxing historians and sports analysis say Ray Robinson was indeed the most gifted fighter of all time and the greatest fighter who ever lived. Ray got hit because Ray threw alot of punches against very good sluggers like Basilio, Lamatta, fullmer, ect.
I wish I could like this video a thousand times. Sanchez is one of my all time favorites.
Its sad we didn’t get to see how truly Great this MAN couldve been...
He was vicious great patience, great stamina, great defense always bouncing the hole 15 rounds! wow number #1for me..Chavita R.I.P. you're f/ever be miss champ..
Losing this great, great complete package fighter is one of boxing's biggest tragedies. He out boxed the boxers and out slugged the sluggers and no one seems to talk about his underrated defensive skills. Had he been able to reach his full potential he would have gone down in history in at least the top three all time greats if not the very best.
Thank you for posting this and thank you Salvador Sanchez for the brief greatness you shared with us!
Totally agree!
Beautifully put, brother!
El mejor de Mexico y creo q del mundo .. duela a quien duela
Uno de los 5 mejores boxeadores de todos los tiempos.
It's absolutely amazing to watch this and then realize he was dead by the age of 23. That means it's possible he could've become even MORE dominant in the ring. I've heard Roy Jones say he regards Sanchez as one of the two or three best fighters ever, and who could argue.
That's right.
He could’ve been the best boxer ever! He already gave us an unforgettable legacy, with nine title defenses in a two year span. Undoubtedly the best feather weight of all time, and the best Mexican fighter to have ever lived!

I remember watching his fights as a kid. I’ve been a fan of the sweet science all my life and have admired many guys over the yrs - Dwight Braxton, Hagler, Pac-man, etc are the the type of fighter’s fighter that I like - but to me Sánchez was the greatest of them all.
He is the James Dean of boxing...a supernova that was taken from us way too early.

Sal Sanchez... some of his opponents belive they had a chance to beat him when they connect him on the first rounds, but when the fight gets old and they watch the same expression on the face of salvador with not a single trace tiredness is when they abandoned all hope of victory... they only see a machine coming for them that cannot be stoped.
Speed movement combos footwork power this man had everything you need to be the best boxer

Breaks my heart that we lost this Great fighter watching him was a thing of beauty!! He was that Great he really was!!
relentless accuracy!
he died 40 years ago and is still talked about till this day, truly an all time great.
Salvador Sanchez el Rey de Reyes.
Roy Jones jr has him 3 rd all time behind Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson . Let that sink in
I think Roy finally took to many shots to the head.
I have him above all them two. He beat more hall of farmers at just 23
Thank you fir this footage. Some I have not seen before. Sanchez can be argued as the greatest fighter ever. He is amongst my top three.
Once again. Thank you for uploading.
Just the way he threw punches was so crisp and sharp. Simply amazing
Salvador Sanchez.
He rolled with the punches,
as no other boxer did in history.
He would often roll his hands to measure his rythym to time the opponents movement.
See how how he always leans into the opponent 100% frontally.
The greatest mexican fighter that ever lived.

Love it! My favorite fighter
Salvador Sánchez...my one🥊💯💪🏻❤️👏🏻
Died at such a young age :( What a shame
grandissimo
Amazing Ring Champion.
15 Greatest of all time.
The most rare skill He had was a calculating, measured, all-knowing, balanced, patient tactician.
Knew when and when not to punch.
Knew what the opponent was doing, and could, or might do. Total complete Ring vision and understanding. Grasped spatial movement with ultimate skill. Rarely ever out of position receiving punching and always in position to punch with exact purpose.
Excellent footwork.
He had a chin.
Boxing was not his main goal.
He was going to be a DOCTOR.

Pound for pound the Greatest in this world and any other
Boxing is my favorite sport… I’m 45 years old and I started watching seriously when I was about 11… It’s why I am on UA-cam… To watch as many fights as I can possibly find… I’ve always heard the name Salvador Sanchez… I would hear Teddy atlas bring him up on a boxing game or I would hear James Tony or other fighters speak of him. About three months ago I started watching all the highlights and broadcast of this man fighting. I am fully convinced he is in the top five or maybe six fighters that I have ever seen. He could box… He could brawl… He had a chin… He had stamina… He maintain defense of responsibility most of the time… He could lead… He could counter… He had unbelievable heart… He was a great finisher… He had ring generalship and ring IQ. Hey could go to the body… He was accurate… He could throw looping punches he could throw straight punches… He remain calm under pressure. He had it all and I am fully convinced he is the best ever at dodging or slipping or ducking the other man’s counter punch. When he had the other man in trouble as he was going in for the kill watch how many times he avoids return fire. While he does that he still maintains his balance and foot work so he could continue to throw his hands. Who knows what might’ve been but he was on track to be the GOAT. His untimely death was a shame… That is obvious… The only compensation or silver lining in my opinion… Would be that we never saw him or watch him get old. Every highlight and every fight you’ll ever see Salvador Sanchez… He will be young and and his prime… Or at least his prime at that moment. I’ve never attended a professional… High-level… Boxing match… If I had a time machine and I was told I could see one fighter perform at his very best… It would be Salvador Sanchez. It’s an honor to watch him work… may he Rest In Peace.
I feel Salvador would’ve been the greatest ever if he didn’t pass so soon
as always, great stuff. What a second fight it could have been with Nelson.
Humble, discipline, boxer.... simple the best salvador sanchez.... the best ever......🥊🥊🇲🇽" the real mexican style of fighting"
