  • This is the third video in Scott Aniol's teaching series Biblical Foundations of Corporate Worship.
The immediate causes for Reformation in various regions, as well as what caused divisions among various Reformation figures, are diverse. However, much of what lay at the core of what both unified Reformers in their reaction against the Roman Catholic Church and what ended up dividing them in the end, involved theology and practice of worship.
Yet what is remarkable is that some of the very same problems with worship that the Reformers criticized with medieval worship have appeared again in contemporary worship. No, the contemporary church has not denied the five Solas or submitted once again to Rome; rather, the practices of contemporary worship suffer from some of the same fundamental problems that Rome’s worship did at the start of the sixteenth century.

Please pray for me. As a single mom, things have been tough on me. My husband passed years ago. I’m all alone. Both of my sons are autistic. I’m just overwhelmed. Father God hear my prayers. Since covid I’ve been struggling to support my children and myself but my faith in GOD is still strong! Like many others. I lost my job for declining the vaccine. I’ve been struggling since. I declined because of my health conditions lupus, and heart disease. Since losing my job I’ve been waitressing I love it but I’m not making nearly enough to to get by. Even as I constantly struggle to pay my rent. And I constantly struggle to provide groceries for my sons! I’m choosing to keep faith. Walking with faith is the most important thing us christian’s must do. So as I struggle I Thank you Heavenly Father and I thank you Jesus I will keep faith! I know a blessing is coming!

“But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John‬ ‭4‬:‭23‬-‭24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)
Worshipping God in Spirit and Truth means living controlled by the Holy Spirit and in voluntary obedience to the Word of God.
    Why? Because...
    1. Worshipping God is living a life that pleases Him.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-this is your true and proper worship. (Romans 12:1 NIV)
    2. Living a life that pleases God is living submitted to the Holy Spirit and in obedience to the Word of God.
The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. (Romans 8:7-8 NIV)

The Church (Body of Christ) established by Christ on the foundation of the apostles is the authority, not the Bible.
The Church is not a building.

"Why ask if he was a prophet?"
Because, Martin Luther fits the bill of a prophet.
If Martin Luther's ideas were not inspired by GOD, then why should any Christian adhere to his teachings?
If Martin Luther was inspired by GOD, then his serious writings about how to be a Christian should be part of the Biblical cannon.
So, why aren't they, and yet so many still follow his teachings?

It is so interesting that Jesus Christ didn't give specific instructions to his followers.
Consequently, we are left with our own judgment.
Using my judgment, I have decided that anyone who (1) loves God and (2) loves his neighbor will go to Heaven.
Another thing, the only prayer believers should recite is the Lord's Prayer.
If God cared about us performing certain rituals, then he would provide us with a detailed instruction manual, and we would all be able to understand it and follow it.
So anybody who didn't follow it, would be shown to be obviously wrong.
For example, if we all go buy a table at IKEA, and we buy tables of the same model and lot number, then anybody who assembles a chair instead of a table would so obviously be wrong, and arguments about "context," "mistranslations," "misinterpretations" and etc would be unnecessary.

No where in the Bible does it say that those who love God and their neighbors will go to heaven. It says we must believe [in Christ] and repent of our sins to enter the kingdom of God. Muslims love their god trust me and they love their neighbors yet I can tell you base on scriptures they will not see heaven if they don’t believe in Christ as the Lord and Savior and don’t repent of their sins of praying to an idol 🤷🏾‍♀️

"No where in the Bible does it say that those who love God and their neighbors will go to heaven."
      Matthew 22:34-40
In Luke 10:29-37, Jesus Christ CLEARLY explains what he means by "neighbor."
" Muslims love their god trust me and they love their neighbors "
      Muslims love Prophet Muhammad PBUH.
The ONLY way a human being can love the ABSOLUTE GOD ("I am", Exodus 3:14) is by "loving [other humans] as you love yourself.
      Islam is AGAINST this.
The Quran tells Muslims not to be friends with Jews and Christians (sūrat l-māidah Verse 5:51).
"I can tell you base on scriptures they will not see heaven"
Based on the Old Testament, Christians are NOT going to heaven.
"I am" is the only one who knows who is in Heaven and who isn't.
All we have to do as humans is to "love I am and to love other humans."
"believe in Christ as the Lord and Savior"
If you love "I am and you love other humans" then you believe in Jesus Christ and you are repentant.
Jesus Christ didn't ask for anything more than that.

"Jesus Himself calls for repentance and belief."
      I agree.
But, Jesus Christ did not give us detailed instructions about the process of "repentance and belief."
Consequently, every human has to decide for Itself what this means.
From reading the Bible, I know Jesus Christ summarized the Law of Moses to "love God and love other people as you love yourself." Matthew 22:37-40
So, the first question is, "how do I love God?"
Well, "I am" is not a human being and "I am" does not need us to love "I am."
This leads me to conclude that the ONLY I can show that I love "I am" is by "loving other people as I love myself."
This leads us to the second question.
The second question is, "how do I love other humans as I love myself?"
Now, this is a very complicated issue that cannot be easily discussed in a UA-cam comment section.
However, Jesus Christ gave LOADS of example of what He meant by "love other people as you love yourself."
Also, in the areas were there is a gap of knowledge, we have science and sociology to helps us observe the World what behaviors promote biological, psychological and social well being.
In my conclusion, the only thing we need from the Bible is "love God and love others as you love yourself."
It is impossible for us to know God.
So, if we want to sincerely "repent and believe" Jesus Christ then we can demonstrate this by "loving others as we love ourselves," and have faith that is the only thing God is asking of us.
