I rate Stone IPA an "A" (most excellent).
They need time to settle in to this new brewery I feel.
Just tried a can from their 15 Sep brewed batch (£2.20 a can for 1 month old ipa from M&S - Bargin) and it is back to it's usual great level, must have just been a few teething problems with the first batch
Doubt it's "can conditioned" ,just a bit of protein. I'm sure they use certain levels of filtration like in San Diego.
The GoTo IPA is the star of the show so far for me from the Stone Berlin cans. Ruination on draft tasting glorious too.
I think it was a sincere rating. It is impossible for all the beers to be good and above avarage. Cheers from Slovenia 😉
Excellent, Classic, changed Craft Beer, The One and only Iconic West Coast IPA, USA version 1.1 dry hoped with wonderful new hops for NZ, still my go to regular West Coast IPA, Fantastic, “A”rating and 10 out of 10, no true beer connoisseur cannot dispute that, this is the IPA that put craft beer on the map, If not for this beer, the craft beer world would not be what it is today
Serve cold and in a chilled glass. If you can get the 1 pint can, do so. Terrific *IPA!*
Tried a can of this and it definately wasn't up to the standard of the bottled IPA. However the canned Arrogant Bastard coming out of Berlin is excellent.
Tried it. It was not a fruit bomb, no. But I think it doesn't want to be. Instead, it is very enjoyable. I did not want to drink it all, but I just had to. The more I drank it, the more enjoyment it offered. After leaving the place, its aftertaste surprised me in the street. It's a loooooong beer. Wooo-hooo!
I had a can from Stone Berlin while in Barcelona a month ago. Picked up Go-To and Ruination from Brewdog and thought they were great but the IPA was a bit lacklustre.
Do you think they will try and improve the can Stone IPA??
I too just got round to trying the regular Stone IPA. Mine was brewed in Richmond, Virginia just three weeks ago, and lacks bottle conditioning. It looks filtered and artificially coloured. I usually like a high IBU count; but there's no balance here, it starts and finishes bitter with the malt flavor absent until long into the aftertaste. Thankfully I got it on the cheap.
i love how hoppy this beer is, and that long drawn out bitter flavor is awesome.
but im drinking the most recent stuff from california.
It is the classic Iconic west coast beer that started the IPA revolution, yes you missed the boat years ago, still very popular here in the states, that is why they keep brewing it, West Coast tradition, like hot dogs and apple pie here on the west coast, true love for Stone
Wow. I'm kind of shocked that ingredients are listed on the can! You will never find that in the states! Lol.
Classic, Great beer for what it is in the style, and how they changed craft beer beer, all about the hops, old School, yes!! West coast in your face, yes, better beers now, yes, without this beer, well???
Well I think it's still 8.5/10 for me. Stone IPA is great!
I bought a can of Stone Berlin IPA at a Tesco in South London last December and it was clearly not the Stone IPA I've had from San Diego. It was trying to be Stone IPA, but it didn't taste the same.
Stone updated their IPA to a version 1.1 there is a UA-cam video about it. As you've pointed out this is an old style American IPA. The regular Stone IPA is just a normal beer, not anything that is going to hit you over the head with hops like a more modern IPA.
delicious ipa is the best beer I've had all year however the rest of the beers from stone that I've tried have been bang average
thinking you need to try this beer after they have had a little time to get things working good.

Stone lost their head brew master. IMO their beers aren't as good as they used to be either that or my pallets changed to the more juicy/hazy ipa's being released in the US now
Their NxS is my favorite from theirs. The rest that I have tried are good, but not excellent.

Mmmm! Got my mouth watering! I've got a couple of cans chilling in the fridge. I'm not an expert but I give it 8/10.
Not really a fan a bit too bitter for me I’d rather a vocation beer any day over this 5/10 for me
