This will be a long comment but I've always loved the Lexus RC. When my mom was looking for a unique, reliable car in 2016 I suggested the RC; she picked up a base RC300 AWD. She still owns it, and it's the longest I've ever seen her own a car and she has never had an issue with it. When I bought my first new car, I picked up a 2021 Corolla Hatchback 6MT. I quickly found that I really wanted something more powerful, other people were having mechanical failures related to the manual gearbox, and as I work in the mountains and see a lot of snow AWD was very much a 'nice to have'. I also really wanted that tried and true 2GR V6. I considered ordering a new Camry XSE V6, looked around for gently used Avalons and ES350s, and was generally not super impressed with what I found. I lucked out and found a 2019 RC350 AWD with 10K on the clock. It wasn't the F-Sport, but I prefer the base model's analog gauges and the color combination(Eminent White Pearl on Glazed Caramel) was unique and beautiful. The fact it was loaded with every option except the F-Sport package and triple beam headlights(the standard headlights flow better with the exterior styling in my opinion) was icing on the cake. This has been the best daily driver I've owned since my second-gen Acura Legend coupe nearly 15 years ago, and it reminds me so much of that car despite being a Toyota product. I generally prefer manual transmissions over automatics, but the 6-speed box in the RC350 is quite responsive when coming from the '90s and '00s slushboxes I've owned in the past. It's a heavy car but you can definitely get it to hustle around a corner; the torque split is RWD biased and when the traction breaks it does tend to get tail-happy. The paddle shifters are a good touch and can be used while the shifter is in Drive; this is useful for extra engine braking when descending hills. I do wish it would hold gears to redline in manual mode, however. Being a 2019 it doesn't have the touchscreen; I've grown used to the touchpad interface and can use it fairly well(driving my mom's RC300 on long road trips also helped). I'm one of those weirdos who don't like smartphones so I've never used the phone integration. The foglights mentioned in the video are in fact cornering lamps; they'll turn on with your turn signals or if your steering wheel is angled past a certain point. While I like foglights, I find the cornering lamps quite useful. The RC can also be specced with a heated steering wheel; during this recent cold snap I found it quite welcoming(though like with Toyota wheels, the heating element is only on the 2-4 o'clock and the 8-10 o'clock sections). The Mark Levinson sound system is amazing, and is the best audio system out of any car I've ever owned. As far as overall performance the RC350 is quick enough. It's a heavy car but it has more than enough muscle to get out of its own way and to be fun on twisty backroads. It's not a fire-breathing V8, but I'm not a fan of the small-displacement turbo I4s(especially with heavier cars), hybrid systems, or EVs that have flooded the market. The V6 is nice and responsive, and the RC/IS is literally the only way you can get a current Toyota/Lexus car with AWD and a V6. I've had this car for nine months and overall it's been great. I've had a couple of quirks with the HVAC(it's blown full hot on the passenger side on a couple of mornings) but zero issues other than that. It's a superb car and is one I still see myself driving in ten years(or longer). If you are looking for a modern car that still feels analog and not like you're surrounded by a giant tablet computer, the RC350 or IS350 is very much worth looking at.
I have an RC350 F Sport too & totally agree. May not be the fastest but it’s fun, sounds great & super comfortable! Not to mention completely reliable & dependable :)
Coming up on 4 years with my 2020 RC 350 F-Sport rear wheel drive. I am averaging 31-33 mpg on the freeway, Did just the front brakes at 46,000 miles and still have the original front tires at 52,000 miles. The car has been problem free and very comfortable to drive and spend hours commuting. I have had many cars over the years and this one is the finest and a real keeper. It is a GT and not a sports car. I can only hope that the eventual replacement is as good or better, as only time will tell. But this vehicle is a keeper. There are many haters out there, but now most of my friends and familiy are driving Lexus products. I wonder why?
Just bought one. Caviar (black with flake) and red interior. RC 350 F Sport AWD. Absolutely love the car and grateful for the comments. Traded in my A5 after getting a timing chain diagnosis after 75k miles. I'll never look back! Cheers
The fact that this car is almost a decade old and still feels relatively high quality it does shows you the quality of Lexus. Unfortunately, it seems that new Lexus cars do not have the same sense of quality anymore. Even though this car isn't as sporty or flashy as some of its competitors, it makes more sense when you think about long-term ownership and especially if you want something more old school.
Owner of a used 2019 RC350 FSPORT AWD here, I love every second with it. Currently saving up/holding out for a facelifted RCF in the future. I was originally saving up for a GT/GR86 but one test drive in the RC and this was the coupe I ended up getting. I go back and forward on how I feel about my RC not having the triple beams. Put it this way, IMO the regular lights fit the facelift profile so much better but Lexus Triple Beams are a nice non-essential thing to have. If you have the option to go for the triple beams do so, otherwise the stock lights are more than enough. I just didn't like how Lexus designed the lights for the facelift, they just look so cramped, the older RC's Triple Beams looked so much better. I am bummed that Android Auto isn't a thing for me from factory but it's not a deal breaker. It's a weird yet beautiful car. Driving my RC always puts a smile on my face and I can't get over how comfortable it is to ride. The LFA inspired instrument panel is amazing to look at and is actually very practical when daily driving. Great car used, but brand new, you have to really be sure that the RC is the right car for you and that you can live with all its strengths and quirks. Shop around and test drive everything and if the RC ends up being the car for you, you won't be disappointed.
Most Lexus sales are just warmed over Toyotas. So, I really salute Lexus for still offering this and the IS. No, it's not as fast as the German competition. But it's a super reliable Lexus!
This is one of my favorite cars and in this color it looks FANTASTIC. I dont mine the dared architecture because like many cars it stands the test of time.
I recommend a used RC350 for under $20k vs buying a new one. I test drove a 2016 and it was comfortable, quiet, quick, and the MarK Levinson sound system was spectacular. I didn’t buy it because while it looks good inside and out, very reliable, in the end it just didn’t elicit an emotional response and in a sports coupe I was looking for that. On paper it’s perfect, but I ended up buying an nb1 Miata and I know these two are not cross shopped often because they are vastly different in execution and experience. No disrespect to anyone who buys one of these as they are great.
u know all that modern tech is the reason why guys break down so much? give me buttons and a cd player with every other option (blue tooth, aux, apple play etc) and weare good. I cant tell u probably dont maintain ur car and mom and dad take care of ur car bills
That was a good video, Sofyan. If money were no object, I would prefer the LC 500. I love the fact that they are still putting a CD player in the car. Happy New Year to you and your husband.
I have an rc 350 f sport and I don’t care what anyone says this car is better than a Lamborghini to me in terms of what I want and how pretty it is and how fun it is to drive and how reliable it is. I love this car. Don’t care. Y’all take all the other cars and I will take this one I just love it.
See lots of comments regarding Lexus vs. MB, BMW. etc. If you lease, get a German vehicle as they have become largely disposable although BMW seems to be trying;. If you buy and want peace of mind when the warranty expires then the Lexus goes to the top. Very simple-you pays your money and makes your choice.
@@naveenthemachineThe 2GR-FSE engine in the RC350 is as reliable as anything Toyota has ever made. In fact, it's more reliable than any four cylinder in the Camry over the past twenty years. Lexus is, on average, more reliable than base Toyota products.
I bought a used rc in October, probably the best vehicle ive ever owned so far. I think is a great value used. In a few years i'll probably upgrade ro a rcf. Lots of complaints about the price point but again its a great value used.
This is a beautiful car I give it up! I love how Lexus know what they want and don't compromise.. RC and LC are both GT car with sports capabilities.. But GT comes 1st. The Germans will say it's a GT but make it so fast and make it corner so well that the car looses it's ability to do the GT part. If you want a sports car there's the supra.. If that's too expensive there's the GR 86. Toyota has something for everyone. They don't play around with a winning formula. The engine is an old one but you know it's solid and parts are everywhere should something were to happen (I honestly don't know when that will be) and by now technicians and mechanics should be well clued up with it. Excellent video Sofyan! 😊
@@tlf361Probably because the IS is more cohesive and running on a dedicated a platform rather than 3 separate components developed separately and put together. Just my opinion
Wonderful review, Sofyan, and good for you to do it. I so love these Lexus RC's and what they represent-analog, ol' skool sexiness. I always do a double take when I see one (especailly the facelifted version). I think a quirky, beautiful design that is unapologetically Japanese. Bravo to Lexus for keeping this V6 around, esp. as the EV "takeover" hits the wall of reality. ;) JV Johnny
Love it still; I just don't understand the old style CC stalk, lack of power folding mirrors and incandescent rear turn signals. I guess this is all we have since the Q60 is discontinued.
Why every Lexus IS/RC review on this channel is AWD with the 6 speed automatic? Ask Lexus for the RWD version of IS/RC with the 8 speed automatic because it’s a lot better than the AWD. Anyways great review as always, I’ve been watching for over 10 years.
I bought one, incredible... thanks for all the reviews. Helped me so much. I'm blown away. needs maybe 50hp more but I am so happy. Only disappointed with the stop and go mileage.
I’ve owned a few MB’s as well as Porsche 944 and 911. I got tired of my cars being in the shop all the time, and moved to Japanese cars in the mid 2000’s. I bought a used RC 350F sport which should have been a huge step down from the German cars or my M45 Infiniti. This car is a lot of fun, and the 4 wheel steering helps. I already have a rocket ship on 2 wheels, this makes me very happy.

I've been driven RC350 F_sport for 4 years, driven the IS350 F-sport for 6 years, i like RC handling and style. If you put in Manual gear select, it's truly 0-100 in 5 seconds.
As a 2018 rc350 f sport awd owner and a 2014 gtr I will tell you that my rc handles way better than my gtr. My rc is heavily modified and I wouldn't trade it for anything honestly. This is my 7th lexus and it is by far the best , best interior , exterior and handling . Never had any issues with any of my lexus either and that is always a bonus right.
Nice review. I have a 2019, and I love the car. It’s sporty when you need it or just want to have fun, but extremely comfortable on a long drive. The infotainment is lousy, but I just use Apple CarPlay, so who cares? I have had zero issues with the car. At 25k miles it feels like it’s just starting to be broken in, and it gets better and better. I get up to 32MPG on a long freeway drive.
Especially for those that want a gas vehicle. We have a 10 year old is 250, it’s no sports car, but it still runs and drives like the day we took it home, and it probably still will another 10 years from now. Would love to upgrade to a 350, but really struggle to find a good reason.
I had a 2018 RC350 I got rid of in a couple years. It was grey with a red interior... beautiful interior but dated drive train and tech, terrible fuel economy and lackluster driving dynamics. Looks like they haven't changed too much since I bought my car six years ago... or since they introduced it almost a decade ago. I was however upset to see they got rid of the donut shelf - the infotainment used to be set back far enough into the dash you could use the little space to hold a half dozen donuts in a box. It was brilliant.
Donuts? I use the space for bagels. Brilliant! but it does get a little messy when in traffic and attempting to toast the bagels on the heated seats and then slaver them with cream cheese.
The difference is you can keep one of these for 10 to 15 years plus and it will still drive like new. I don’t really like the newer headlight design of these though as the old triple beam LED just looked. Inch better. I’ve had the previous model which I have had for 7 years in F sport trim. I added the RCF rear centre console too which fits perfectly. That way you get 4 cup holders and you can easily put a small water bottle between the back seats and reach it from the drivers seat. Add an Invidia Quad exhaust and it really wakes up this V6 and the neighbourhood on a cold start lol. There are plenty of smart people out there that bought these while others that bought Euro cars are now regretting those decisions as they are money pits as they age.
that's the 2GR-FKS not 2GR-FSE. RC was built from 3 different Lexus. Front is from 4th gen GS, Rear of the 3rd gen IS, and mid-section of 2nd gen IS convertible
Love my 2015 RC350! I think these cars have aged well and are great value used. Love that blue color! Also, my RC only gets 16.5 to 17 MPG with just city driving and low 20s on the highway. I don’t know why it gets such poor gas mileage. Does anyone else have that problem?
Interesting, I have a 2020 F-Sport, rear wheel drive, and I constantly get 32 to at times 33 mpg on the freeway. At 46,000+ miles, I am still on the original front tires, and just had my front brakes done. After more than 3 years, I am completely satisfied with my purchase and will most likely keep this vehicle for at least 200,000 miles. This. is one nice car.

If you want the luxury of reliability buy a corolla or Camry instead. Not a luxury car LOL
@@naveenthemachineThe 2GR-FSE engine in the RC350 is as reliable as anything Toyota has ever made. In fact, it's more reliable than any four cylinder in the Camry over the past twenty years. Lexus is, on average, more reliable than base Toyota products.
@@mikeabel7577 you know the canry (until 2024) also offered the same 3.5L v6 with 300hp right?
Very underrated. Looks sharpe, looks fast so ppl expect it to be a sports car. Its not slow for most consumers very adequate.
It’s slow for a luxury car at this price
You can literally go as fast in a Camry for 20k less get the same v6, more features and more space
I bought a used rc in October, probably the best vehicle ive ever owned so far. I think is a great value used. In a few years i'll probably upgrade ro a rcf. Lots of complaints about the price point but again its a great value used.
Good review. Btw to be more specific, RWD version with 8at, better than AWD version with 6at.
Do you think the awd version will actually take corners better?
@edysinsimon8646 I just looked up what you said but what I found is that the AWD version does have a 6 speed, the RWD is 8 speed for 2024 model year.
Just a small correction, the RC has the front end of the GS, the rear end of the IS and the mid section is from the IS convertible for added rigidity
Yes, you're correct.
Why does the IS handle better?
@@tlf361Probably because the IS is more cohesive and running on a dedicated a platform rather than 3 separate components developed separately and put together. Just my opinion
Wonderful review, Sofyan, and good for you to do it. I so love these Lexus RC's and what they represent-analog, ol' skool sexiness. I always do a double take when I see one (especailly the facelifted version). I think a quirky, beautiful design that is unapologetically Japanese. Bravo to Lexus for keeping this V6 around, esp. as the EV "takeover" hits the wall of reality. ;) JV Johnny

Why every Lexus IS/RC review on this channel is AWD with the 6 speed automatic? Ask Lexus for the RWD version of IS/RC with the 8 speed automatic because it’s a lot better than the AWD. Anyways great review as always, I’ve been watching for over 10 years.
I had this when it first came out. Amazing car!
People still missing the part,… that CD player is also DVD/ Blue Ray Player.
I bought one, incredible... thanks for all the reviews. Helped me so much. I'm blown away. needs maybe 50hp more but I am so happy. Only disappointed with the stop and go mileage.
All you guys complaining have actually not driven these Lexus cars.
I love this car but I’m ready for an interior update
These coupes look good reliable and v6 a lot of manufacturers got rid of the v6 but hope Lexus keeps it alive but I guess not
Nice review.
Always informative with great content. Been a sub since the jump. Keep up the great work !
The top speed is closer to 137, 0-60 is closer to 5.2, and gas milage is way worse and gets about 310 per full tank on premium
Well it does have a small tank. I remember filling up my 2015 Rc350 f sport at like 11-12 gallons from E.
just got a 2021, im a lil shocked at the mileage, in stop and go downtown/city cruise this is bad imo... but highway, sips gas
Still don’t understand why no power folding mirrors.
That was a good video, Sofyan😀
Wow! That eagle in the background was amazing!
This v6 is a great engine with growing mod potential to this day, gonna be sad to see it go
Yes, check out Frankenstein Motor Werks!
I really like this Lexus the air vent and gauge give LFA vibe and V6 sound badass too
About five years after this car goes away people are going to regret not buying more of them❗️
Especially for those that want a gas vehicle. We have a 10 year old is 250, it’s no sports car, but it still runs and drives like the day we took it home, and it probably still will another 10 years from now. Would love to upgrade to a 350, but really struggle to find a good reason.
I'll always salute the old school Toyota Cruise Control 🫡
LOL! Right! I kinda dig seeing it in new/old Camrys and new/old Corollas and new/old IS & ES models. It. Just. Works. 😀
Yes! Lexus gets it.
It's still a beautiful coupe especially in that shade of blue. A new IP and a potent hybrid drivetrain would bring this car up to today's standards.
Still no surround-view camera system, just backup camera?
that's the 2GR-FKS not 2GR-FSE. RC was built from 3 different Lexus. Front is from 4th gen GS, Rear of the 3rd gen IS, and mid-section of 2nd gen IS convertible
RC is sharp looking, just leaves a little to be desired for the price.
Not bad 0-60 times considering is a rear axle and a naturally aspirated 3.5 engine Lexus is definitely very modern

Love my 2015 RC350! I think these cars have aged well and are great value used. Love that blue color! Also, my RC only gets 16.5 to 17 MPG with just city driving and low 20s on the highway. I don’t know why it gets such poor gas mileage. Does anyone else have that problem?
Really? I’m getting 18-19 mpg city and 26-28 mpg highway on my 2015 RC350 F-Sport
@@andrewlin0421 is yours AWD?
Interesting, I have a 2020 F-Sport, rear wheel drive, and I constantly get 32 to at times 33 mpg on the freeway. At 46,000+ miles, I am still on the original front tires, and just had my front brakes done. After more than 3 years, I am completely satisfied with my purchase and will most likely keep this vehicle for at least 200,000 miles. This. is one nice car.
@@m.newman7722 what does yours get in town? I think AWD makes a bigger difference then we might think and mine is 5 years older than yours and yours has the slightly retuned 3.5 V6 so it’s making slightly more horsepower and torque than mine so I wonder if they did anything else with the newer model years (2019 facelift and up) that would make them be slightly better on gas.

You UA-camrs have been calling the V6 and gas powered cars endangered for more than 5 years now. It was all a marketing push, there is no infrastructure for all EV’s by 2030 …just review the car for what it is.
Yup they can push and lie all they want in defense of EVs but the truth is that most people just don’t give a single shit about them. And you’re right about the infrastructure, we’re about to get screwed by these mandates.
