Boy what great memories!!! My ist time at ocir, stood right there a the spectator fence and BIG JIM DUNN in his top fuel car pulling up for a qualifying run,a memorie I'll never forget.later put together a car and got to race there, and race with friends cars, not to mention all the great top fuel and funnycar/fuel altered shows.what a great time to be alive, and a young guy in Southern California, thanks for the video, just great!!!!
This is when I started going to the drags .. it was awesome .. no computers .. tuned by the seat of your pants .. running late into the night .. great weather .. OCIR was awesome !!
To the broke, NYC, early-teen that I was, that met puberty through pop-rock hits, and Drag Racing Illustrated magazine, that OCIR tower *was a shrine to me.*
This was before my time at OCIR. I moved into Laguna Hills terrace area in 1976. My house was just over the Irvine Ranch hills you can see in the background of the starting line. The first OCIR race I attended was a Coors 64-Funny Car event in 1977. Before I had a drivers license I would ride my dirt bike over the hills you can see in the background at the starting line. Then cross Irvine Center Dr. at Lion Country Safari, and over the bridge at the El Toro Marine Base back entrance up to the OCIR gate.
I miss you Eloise (ocir) I am native to ocir area for 56 years, can walk there and visit your grave Eloise Ocir. And see all the spirits of everyone at track who have past with you now in super raceway on other side, I hear your voice in wind every night, will be with you soon, Lizzy Elize Young, hug

Why do you have to ruin this film with such horrible music
You live in kind of a glass-half-empty world,huh ? LOL !
The music correspond to those years
🤔...Well, John Fogerty probably wanted 50k to use "Fortunate Son" in the video, so...🤷🏻♂️ LOL!
