I have owned my 97 R170 for over eighteen months now. I liked it then and like it even more now, especially as you don't see too many about these days. It is very much a 'feel good' car.
Got one a couple of months ago, paid £1k with a years MOT and apart from a little rust arohnd the wheel arches and a scruffy interior ita great. Hard to believe you can buy them for such little money
@@stevensfourwheels yeah sad to let it go especially it being my first car but I have no where to store it and need something more practical. Wish I could keep it as a runaround :(
Had my SLK320 for 2 years. Been loving it right up to now as I have 'start error' on the dash and an engine that wont crank or turnover lol....immobilser I think
Does the radiator fan start up too even though the engine is cold? Had a similar issue with mine due to the common K40 relay problem. Easy and cheap fix if it's that.
Why are they not appreciated? Well they rust badly if driven on salty roads. Some parts, critical ones, are NLA from Mercedes. Just adds to the challenge 😅

Agreed, I’m glad to hear a fellow SLK owner enjoying the car as much as I do! Thanks for watching 👍
Solid review. Tuned in because I am considering one.
@@fortressofswolitude thank you, I’d love to hear how you get on 👍
Just sold my SLK320, great cars the R170 in general
Yeah I agree
They are great cars and very underrated. I was out in mine today and loved it 👍
I have the SLK200 00, PF. I love it for everyday casual rides around sunny Greece. I would prefer easier turn steering wheel.
@@deepapo I wish I lived in Greece to enjoy roof down driving more! Is yours a 200 kompressor?

That sounds great. Let me know how you get on sorting your SLK out. They are such great value for money 👍
There will be more trust I promise😂
You are literally Merc Man!
Thanks Eddie! Glad you’re enjoying the content 👍
They truly are great cars. I have a 1998 230K fully specced in great condition for sale down in Sussex if anyone is interested
Glad to hear that you love the SLK as well.

Well I’m glad you’ve been enjoying your 320 up until this point. Hope you get the issue sorted soon. Thanks for watching 👍
Probably the DAS There is s company on the UK that can bypass them.
@Rofasta Great thank you! Do you have the name of this company?

@mick0905 Hi, thanks for input....the radiator fan does not start up though no

It’s all part of the challenge of owning an older car 👍
