it doesn't matter what trivium does, they'll forever be close to my heart since their music was always there during the most important part of my life.
@HammersmashedTaco What a thoughful, articulate argument you put forward. Totally made me change my mind about the song with your reasoning and specifics.
People develop guys. There are a lot of bands that take different approaches to their music over time. There's nothing wrong with that. Just keep that in mind once you talk about how faithful you are to a band.
True to that bro . Trivium is trivium . I totally support you because bands also need to find their right tones and it's not wrong for them to explore new sounds. Some people can never understand and speak as if they know everything about music ~ sheesh ~!
honestly I like this song it don't matter to me its a damn good song and I know my music like I know Metallica but this don't reach that type of hype for the people that say oh this guys trying to compare them to Metallica which I am not by when you hear a good song like this one you have to give them the props because they did the song for your entertainment
Honestly, if you set your views straight and just listen to any of their albums for what they are (not comparing them to other albums etc etc), Trivium has been the one band in the metal world that has released nothing but great albums. I enjoyed every one of them, they each have a song with a killer riff (if not all or most of them). In Waves is a refreshing album, the change in tuning is also great! (I believe In Waves is in drop C#?)
If you follow the message, the meaning, the values of these musical artists then you would understand the video and the reason for the artistic necessity of the videos. I am really inspired by the fact that a music video does not have to show the band members actually playing, the music and seeing them tour should be enough evidence of that. This band has some deeply spiritual and progressive meaning behind their music, and true spirit will always rise within and tame the animal beast.
trivium is a fucking great band once in a while a change in the music is good if your a true trivium fan u will not judge them for how they sound so just enjoy
i like that they are making this album into a movie split into sections...cool idea. if anyone didnt know this, each music video for this album is meant to lead on from the one before
this video needs more views!!!, sick of seeing bands who are either talentless or that are identical to each other taking all the credit...ive been a fan of trivium since day 1 and i will be forever more...there's no such thing as a poor or weak trivium song...but even so-called metal gods such as metallica can do aweful material...thats why we all need to support true tallent...anyone else with me on this?
Why are the top comments all about the 'generic' sound. Its Trivium.. Trivium will always be one of the best. Built to fall is a great song and every band is allowed to change their own sound!
Quite frankly, the production quality of this album makes it my favorite. Agreed, the songs on it aren't all good, but it's amazingly clean - and that's what I love about it. DAT BASS DRUM. :O :O :O Cheers!
Wow man .. trivium sounds good really... who the hell could disslike this.. it sounds good to me.. i know its nothing compared to the stuff they do . but bands experimenting stuff in the process might gain and lose some fans.. Trivium isn't an exception.. seriously i find its different and i like it.. . if you people ain'.t happy about how it sounds .. then make your own band and see how hard it is to get out something wich was not inveneted already .. anyways .. good video . peace evryone
I agreed with you until you said that about Disturbed. I understand that some songs do sound somewhat alike, but their music is very diverse. If you listened to all of their music like I have, you would know that.
You know I agree about the generic part, but I think it still has a trivium uniqueness to it, and I still love it

@Ducks720 me too man, totally agree. At least it's not as crap as that as i lay dying clip where they're fighting... well... a giant scorpion with their gear...

@lostprophets123 I think they were a lot more mature in Shogun than In Waves...
@Ducks720 this showes the development . And i didnt liked the old videos because they looked like every other metal core bandd. This is some unic stuff !
I miss the Ascendancy era......... I haven't been able to appreciate metal as much after the Crusade and Lamb of God's album, Sacrament (both of which were my favorite bands at the time). It just seems that a lot of bands changed during that time.
New album=new sound. Quit living in the Ascendancy days and either stay a Trivium fan and be open-minded with what they come out with or stfu and be one of those fans that think every band sells out every time you hear a new CD.
can everyone please stop complaining when a band changes their sound, if you haven't noticed already, on EVERY album Trivium have changed their sound, EVERY album and certainly In Waves was no exception, and i think it's good that Trivium continue to evolve and mature their sound, because it would be pretty boring if every album sounded the same, now wouldn't it???
I'd hate to make a comment about a band other than Trivium on this vid, but your comment makes it necessary. This has got to be the biggest insult A7X and their fans have ever taken. Every album is a lot different than the other. In details, their debut was all screaming, 2nd was half scream half singing, 3rd was mostly singing with very few screams, 4th was all singing and their 5th is a nice mix of all of that. Other than that, I completely agree with you :)
This is the first album by Trivium in a long time were they did what they wanted. Crusade and Shogun were fan pleasers, this is how Trivium wanted to sound to begin with, and I like it much better. The only true replacement for Metallica!
my point exactly, thank god there's other ppl who have the same opinion as me, their career would become pretty stagnant if they kept the same sound on every album
But they play music? If you don't judge them by how they sound than what do you judge them by? The quality of their videos? How they react to media? I don't understand why people don't like these guys just because they changed their style slightly I mean after all that is the evolution of music at work. Any hardcore trivium fans out there feel like giving me a heads up as to why this is "generic"? It would be much appreciated because personally I fuckin love this song an I wanna know y you don't
All Trivium is good, neither old or new.
it doesn't matter what trivium does, they'll forever be close to my heart since their music was always there during the most important part of my life.
@HammersmashedTaco What a thoughful, articulate argument you put forward. Totally made me change my mind about the song with your reasoning and specifics.
I don't care what everyone else says; I love this song and I love Trivium.
I don't care what anybody says TRIVIUM are awsome \m/ and this song rocks!!!!!!
When did Trivium start doing Nickelback covers?
Triviums old good times are finally over now.
People develop guys. There are a lot of bands that take different approaches to their music over time. There's nothing wrong with that. Just keep that in mind once you talk about how faithful you are to a band.

awesome on all levels!
honestly I like this song it don't matter to me its a damn good song and I know my music like I know Metallica but this don't reach that type of hype for the people that say oh this guys trying to compare them to Metallica which I am not by when you hear a good song like this one you have to give them the props because they did the song for your entertainment
I miss OLD trivium PERIOD.
Best live performance I've ever been to
I'm built to love Trivium
I'm very hope that this Trivium's clip saga will continue
Honestly, if you set your views straight and just listen to any of their albums for what they are (not comparing them to other albums etc etc), Trivium has been the one band in the metal world that has released nothing but great albums.

In Waves is a refreshing album, the change in tuning is also great! (I believe In Waves is in drop C#?)
dude, same. Disturbed started my love for metal with their song "just stop"
this song is freaking awesome. Its my favorite song

Oh my god i love his voice.
i dont see how u can think that...cuz trivium was one of the bands that pioneered this kind of sound
trivium is a fucking great band once in a while a change in the music is good if your a true trivium fan u will not judge them for how they sound so just enjoy
i like that they are making this album into a movie split into sections...cool idea.
if anyone didnt know this, each music video for this album is meant to lead on from the one before
Great vidoe and even greater music!
A good reason to go take a beer break before the mighty In Flames hit the stage....
they will never be as good as Ascension, again. god i miss that band.
This is by far their best album. And you´re right: If you want to top Shogun you´ll have lots of work to do :)
Never heard of any Trivium song until now, First impressions are great :P
this video needs more views!!!, sick of seeing bands who are either talentless or that are identical to each other taking all the credit...ive been a fan of trivium since day 1 and i will be forever more...there's no such thing as a poor or weak trivium song...but even so-called metal gods such as metallica can do aweful material...thats why we all need to support true tallent...anyone else with me on this?
Damn you now I can't unsee it.
beautiful voice
Totally agree. Everyone else I've said that to just dosn't get it. Made my day there man.
Awesome guys!
I only liked trivium because of this album :D Supporting your comment like a boss.
Shogun was Trivium's golden years...
@Serpent1991 My thoughts too! My favorites are in waves, built to fall, and a grey so dark
love it :D Haven't listened to them for ages I think since Shogun, must buy that new album ^^
Right there with you man, I mean sure I still get stoked when Inception or something comes on, but really Shogun was where it was at.
"Built to Fall"..... Definitely
This Trivium video is fucking cool! More metal bands should make little mini movies like this! Thumbs up all the way!
@Darkane4kom I agree completely. They may have got inspiration for their earlier work from Metallica, but they've taken it to their own level now.
muy bueno
@Ducks720 How are they better? This is what people like now in days and this is what we get and it's awesome. Better than awesome. Extraordinary.
Ascendancy was theire best album fo sho!!
I don't know what you guys are talking about, it sounds good.
seen them at 98 rock fest this past sat. they kicked ass
esta bune buena la cancion y el video no se digaaa
lml mexico :)
Addicted since now.
In the chorus he sings " you are beaultiful" Lolllll
woa, best song i've heard today
Why are the top comments all about the 'generic' sound. Its Trivium.. Trivium will always be one of the best. Built to fall is a great song and every band is allowed to change their own sound!
With all due respect, shouldn't it always be the case, listening to a whole album before judging? Trivium truly is a great band.
Quite frankly, the production quality of this album makes it my favorite. Agreed, the songs on it aren't all good, but it's amazingly clean - and that's what I love about it.
DAT BASS DRUM. :O :O :O
Cheers!
Great video!
im a die hard metallica fan... there my fav band.... but i have to agree with you here man
bon morceau
matt also explained in an interview that they didnt want their albums all sounding the same and that they want to experiment
I got you bro. I'm liking it too
Trivium can't beat their Ember To Inferno & Ascendancy albums.
@HuragokJ nop Chuck Testa...go listen to Broken Foundation, Spinning Over or Serpents In Solitude
Wow man .. trivium sounds good really... who the hell could disslike this.. it sounds good to me.. i know its nothing compared to the stuff they do . but bands experimenting stuff in the process might gain and lose some fans.. Some people just have to relax and enjoy the music.
well said, i agree
I know my music. listen to nickelback & stone sour back to back then listen to this track. I rest my case you n00b
I agreed with you until you said that about Disturbed. I understand that some songs do sound somewhat alike, but their music is very diverse. If you listened to all of their music like I have, you would know that.

@lostprophets123 i wanted something like Shogun or Ember to Inferno tbh. This is good but In Waves and Ascendancy are a bit soft really :/
I miss the Ascendancy era......... I haven't been able to appreciate metal as much after the Crusade and Lamb of God's album, Sacrament (both of which were my favorite bands at the time). It just seems that a lot of bands changed during that time.
I clicked this video by accident, I'm glad I did. ;]
@AEmptyCanvas I thought there was something familar about the sound. It's not Sevenfold, It sounds more like Rise Against.
@xTHExDISTURBEDx It was meant like a joke to those saying it's vice-versa. Oh well.. yes, I agree with you about the statement related to their sound.
perrisismo video son bien riatas para hacer musica
PLEASE!!
New album=new sound. Quit living in the Ascendancy days and either stay a Trivium fan and be open-minded with what they come out with or stfu and be one of those fans that think every band sells out every time you hear a new CD.
if all they songs sound the same its aint means they bad its means they are boring, awesome song btw
this song rulez and the video is bad ass

By the way did Nick come out in this video at anytime? Or will it be in the continued part?

i do like this change :D
the long epic beginning for this?
@sammagehtsnoch Listen to their Shogun album, its thrashier and more metal than anything else they did.
come to HUNGARY PLS!!!!!
like it!
It's really odd to see Trivuim change so much since Shogun, however it's kinda badass all the same. It's not just "Thrash" anymore. I like it.
@PirateEsp I read your comment and was thinking how bad could it be. 3:17 came and I was like what the fuck? Is it like that in the original song?
This is the first album by Trivium in a long time were they did what they wanted. Crusade and Shogun were fan pleasers, this is how Trivium wanted to sound to begin with, and I like it much better. The only true replacement for Metallica!

@Ducks720 this new vid is sick
@chirbin0nidhogg623 Hmm cool I'll have to check it out then, thanks for the info!

Epic
epic no matter what people say
