WI 2020 Shed Hunting - 179” Deadhead & Big Sheds

- I am ending the 2020 Shed season off strong. I find a giant 5 pt freshy off a buck I had pictures of all year long, as well as 3 other bucks I had pictures of. 2 days later I end up finding a giant old 6 pt shed buried in the grass and a crazy 13 point typical deadhead! I am not completely done shed hunting but it is unfortunately coming to a close. There will be at least 1 more shed hunting video coming out in 2020...
I’ve been a subscriber for basically 3 years and these are still the best shed hunting videos around, straight to the point and raw footage. Not to mention you enjoy every shed and show emotion with them

Thanks, I know I can’t believe it either. I only walked 5 miles the day I found the deadhead and that shed LOL. Didn’t expect to find stuff like that after a short walk.

Thanks, yeah one thing no one talks about is how they never really fall on deer trails very often. If you walk 10-15 yards from good deer trails you will probably have better luck than actually walking the trail.

I’ve heard about the coffee grounds, I think I’ll try it on a small one someday to practice before I try it on the big one.

Holy Smokes!!!! Great finds man thats incredible! Gotta love those soft earth trails that are tapped down. Gives you motivation that you're in the right area! Hopefully you get a crack at that huge 10 pointer. He'll be even bigger this year! Keep it up man and goodluck the next time you head out!

Are you in a big woods area? I know how you feel. I’ve gone many long weekends of 20+ miles without finding anything and then other days you get lucky And find a couple in a few hours. Just gotta be in the right spot where they wintered.

Wow awesome. And jealous lol. Every spot I go now don't find anything but boot prints lol. Never had that problem. Guessing because people are off work now and more people getting out. Only found 14 this year but no little guys. All nice ones... in Illinois
Thanks, I know I have seen more boot prints than usual this year as well. I would say about 1/3 of my sheds are off 1.5 yr old bucks. I had pictures of many more young bucks that I never found any to. Just goes to show how hard it is to see the small ones.
@@wisconsinwhitetail9744 yeh and the bigger ones are definitely easier to see. Im from suburbs of Chicago and cant hunt the deer here. So we have alot of trophy bucks running around. Got massive racked deer on trail camera during the rut I usually don't see but couldn't find the sheds. Guessing just rut roamers I like to call them
Really you can’t even bow hunt the suburbs. Thats a bummer. There must be a lot of car collisions with deer where you are.
@@wisconsinwhitetail9744 not even bow hunt. Illinois sucks. But not as much car collision as u would think. There pretty used to cars. They cross streets at night early mornings. But we are over populated with coyotes too. Some big ones running around in big number packs. Which u cant hunt either. So I'd say they hit the deer pretty hard
Yeah does suck. I believe in the suburbs of Milwaukee, Oconomowoc, Waukesha, and Madison allow bow hunting. I have heard of some big ones coming out of those suburb areas.
Love the find and the history of the buck I get pretty stoked when find one like that

Enjoyed your video. You mentioned you have permission to shed hunt but not Hunt the property, was wondering why.
Because the landowners relatives hunt there but don’t shed hunt it. I was just lucky to get permission to shed hunt there, hopefully I can continue to get permission there.

That 5 point side looks like it has the same genetics as that 6 point side you found.
I wouldn’t say so, the 5 pt brow tine is huge and bladed, and the 5 point g2 is longer than the g3 unlike the 6 pt side. There are similar traits, both are giants
Awesome job! :) I do have a question though, what do you do with all the sheds you find? I have found like 5 in total and they are all around the house as just decoration, but what do you do with them when you have a lot more?
Thanks... I have my dresser and shelves in my room loaded up with piles of them and deadheads and bucks I have shot on the walls, it’s quite the display. I am going to continue to pile them up. I don’t think I would ever want to destroy any by making something, maybe the smaller ones.
How did you get pictures if you don't have PERMISSION to HUNT there?
The first 4 sheds are from my grandparents farm, including the big 5 point side. The Deadhead and that 6 point side is from a property about a mile away. I can’t hunt that property, only shed hunt.

Thanks, the day I found the 4 fresh sheds and that big 5 pt was April 1st. The day I found the deadhead was April 3rd.

calm down it’s not that big!😂 I watched this vid with my friend and kept saying that and he was making fun of me cuz apparently I have a tainted view of what a big shed is since I have found 2 matching sets from 200+ inch deer!😂😂 the perks of living next to 2 wildlife refuges
It’s a giant from where I am. That deer has lived and roamed on probably 15-20 different parcels of private land that gets hunted and made it to 6yrs old. The following year at 7 yrs he was shot on a property 1/2 mile away. He was the king buck in the area.
The giant Deadhead I don’t have any history with, but I’m sure he was the biggest buck in his range too.

Sound like it was...it must have had some spit tines or abnormal points. was that a main frame 5 point or 6 pt shed?
No doubt that deer got hit by a hunter who missed and never found it

That’s because the real reaction is always 10-30 seconds before I turn the camera on. Before I picked up That big fresh 5 point side I had FaceTimed my cousin for 10-15 min before picking it up so I kinda forced my excitement during the video which made it sound a little cringe haha.
Believe me I know how hard it is to find something that nice, I put on around 200 miles every year and I am lucky if I find one that big every year.
