@@teo3746 SAS and FlyByWire are different things, SAS is present all aircraft from era 7 onwards ( f4-mig 21) flybywire only on F16/su27/Gripen, war thunder should divide the sas and fly by wire commands into two different things
I just got a cheap sim setup working but I haven't tried any battles yet, only test flights. Would there be any tips using the Su-27 or sim battles in general?
The Flanker is carried by its missiles. It’s AOA is really good but once you’re below 850 KPH you have to maintain that speed. Also it’s very heavy. It’s kind of how the f14 is but has a better missile set. It can carry a lot of fuel but once you’re below 25 minutes of fuel it feels like a completely different aircraft. Currently everything you fight can pretty much do whatever you do, I’d avoid going vertical unless you have no other choice because it and the f15 tend to lag in the vertical very weird but it happens. Also, you will be outnumbered because everyone prefers allied jets (not sure why).
@@jordancourse5102 correct, getting that guaranteed r73 shot is the only thing that can win a dogfight, switching to full manual and just full pulling on the elevator to get that shot is the only way to kill an f16 or an f15 kill once you merge (thats my success with the flanker atleast); i like the japanese eagle much more since it has a pretty good rwr and well pretty good flight model with a fucking great cannon and plenty of rounds and flares with that ^^... but still, both planes are fun in their own way, I cant wait for the su30 with canards to come, grinding my gripen now tho :D

timing to switch from damping to manual is key to good performance in this aircraft, honestly prefer flying the eagle
