Spray down the color cakes with some water first, let them sit for a few minutes, and then use the sponge to make the magic happen. Her: I bet he's thinking about another girl...
Him: I think unicorns, minus their magical powers, probably existed. As far as a creature goes, not a very far-fetched creature. It's a horse with a horn. That's it. We have such crazier animals on the planet than a horse with a horn. I think that unicorns existed, but we thought that their horns had some magical capabilities. And so what do we do as humans when we want something and think it's valuable? WE KILL IT. We destroy it. And so I think that's what we did. I think, that back - EUGHHHHHHH - in the time of whenever it was, whenever the unicorns were really going at it back in the day. I think unicorns absolutely existed. It's a horse with a horn. IT'S A HORSE WITH A HORN. Have you ever seen a jellyfish? Can you explain to me how a jellyfish works? How is a jellyfish alive, it doesn't even have a brain. But we get all caught up with a HORSE with a HORN? It's not that far-fetched is it?

We actually recently talked about the unicorn in biology class. More specifically, we talked about the animal that people thought was the unicorn. What Ethan says about unicorns is almost right. They're just rhinoceroses. Our common understanding of unicorns comes from ancient Greek writer Pliny the Elder who dubbed the animals "monoceros" (one horn). He was most likely describing the Indian rhino. Since he had never encountered an animal like this, he used other known animals to describe it, so that's how the unicorn came to be known to have the "body of a horse."

On the topic of unicorns and Ethan’s theory about why they no longer exist - I would like to point to the movie “The Last Unicorn” and history. Humans have caused animals to go nearly extinct (or very close to the brink) for a lot less than magical horns.

i used to go to a school where kids would stay later after school while parents worked then picked them up and the absolute fun i had with those rainbow scratch thingys was immaculate.

as an '05 baby that went to sunday school that's literally all they'd let us play with were those rainbow scratch cards and coloring pages. but when i got home, i'd play the real games. lining up my parents' empty alcohol bottles and playing bar tender with my literal baby brothers.

I was born in the early 2000s and I love rainbow scratch paper. I grew up with watching those ads for blopens and different variants of the rainbow scratch paper, and the rainbow sand. Those were fun at the birthday parties

I hope it brings someone joy to know that the students at my job (I have 2nd graders born around 2016) LOVE rainbow scratch paper. They adore them, you can get them huddled around one sheet for a while.

I had rainbow art. Used that bitch for 10 years. It was totally worth the hype back in the day. Whatever brand eef is using isn't the original. The one I had was SUPER bright.

Omg I’m born in 2004 and I remember those rainbow art sponges! We had them in our school art room. I can’t believe I forgot about it, they are so good. I think Ethan got a dud or the pallet is just super dried up being over 20 years old

Back in MY day!!!! we made our own rainbow scratch paper. Actually, this video has inspired me to teach my students how to make their own rainbow scratch paper (to answer your question, Ethan, they DO still play with the pro stuff).

The nostalgia in this video make me want to be a kid again!! I'm sure many of us could make lists of the toy's we grew up with. One of my favorites was the Doodle Bear, Next time I'm at the store, I'm buying something because I can. And no one's gonna stop me! 😆

Goddamn, they don't even really make toy commercials anymore. I'm all for young people learning to use tech, but a child should not be able to the internet. Well, there's another problem, they keep telling children to play outside, my question is *where* exactly do you want them to play? In the trash and soot filled street?

7:58 It's actually very likely that the idea of a unicorn began when someone saw a rhinoceros and went home to tell people about a giant horse-like creature with a large horn on its head
The 'questing beast' from Arthurian legend is also way too similar to a giraffe to be a coincidence
