    My Lions got him in thr 3td round and I think its a steal. Detroit is the perfect NFL team for him because he can play behind Goff for a year or two till hes learned the offense and he will make at least a good backup with the possibility of being a starter in a couple years. While more complex, the Lions offense is set up similarly to Tennessee. I loved this pick

    For context Hall of Fame QB Dan Marino had a 59.4 completion for his NFL career. Even though Hooker hasn't played 1 down for his career, he averaged 66.05 in his starts. Contrast that against Marinos' stats of 57.6 at Pitt, and that's not too shabby. Nearly 70 percent on passes overall is very good!

    • @four2five07
      @four2five07 Рік тому

      for more context, Dan Marino never won a Super Bowl

    • @joeravanelli3820
      @joeravanelli3820 Рік тому +4

      For more context:
      Marino played in a different era where 60% was the standard for the most accurate qbs. In the modern game the average has gone up about 10% and there is no reasonable way to compare passing statistics between eras without first using a formula to adjust Marinos numbers to what they would be in the modern game. Marino was a great even among greats to the point where even guys like Aikman praised him as the perfect player. So I would advise against comparison, as it would be nothing but unfair to compare a guy who's going to be drafted in the 3rd from an air raid system to a man who passed for 5,000 yards when the standard for greatness was 4 and accumulated the most passing yards in nfl history without an achilis

    For any team, Hooker as QB will be like having the coach on the field. He is smart and will study and will implement the coaches scheme and game plan while he coaches/leads the team in real time on the field and sidelines. The last 15 seconds of the 2022 Alabama game is Hooker in a snap shot.

    1. Hook has to throw the ball. 2 decision making is good. 3. Very little INTs. If what Tennessee did was so effective why isn’t everyone doing it? Hook has Size. Arm. Wheels. Smart’s. He didn’t have the greatest play maker’s around him. He does hold the ball to long. But that can be coached up. Lions are so blessed to have him. AR didn’t have great numbers in college so why is Hooker different from him???

    A Player that is older can be very successful at a older age that’s a qb than a LB RB or a WR. Look at Tom Brady. A Rodgers Brett Farve Joe Montana Etc. Matt Stafford would have been fine but he had a broken back and other issues. Hendon Hooker will be great in time. Being behind the O Line that the Lions have. He will be ready to be extremely successful in a couple of years. Brad Holmes did a great job again.

    Hendon Hooker has real talent, a football IQ, so credit him for that. All this other nonsense you two are continuing to question with Hooker's age and his Coaches scheme, what difference does it make. His team smacked Nick Saban and the SEC. Translation, Hooker can play.

  • @agentorange3417
    @agentorange3417 Рік тому +2

    If you clowns bothered to read (Barnum & Bailey....really?), Brian Daboll has no problem with the scheme, which is why they took Hyatt. Heup's put more WRs in the league than any other coach over the last few years. I hate to break it to you NFL homers, but this style of football is exciting, and fans love it. Once you go there, your fans won't accept anything else. And Hendo impressed the NFL coaches with remembering his offense from Va Tech, as well. NFL has much less problem with Tennessee's scheme than the talking heads and their acolytes. You can call it gimmick all you like - now stop it. Simplicity is genius. Hendo is a smart guy with physical skills who plays with a chip on his shoulder. You could do MUCH worse. And HE'LL defend our O to anyone. And has.

    I think HH is going to be a starting QB. He has the arm and the accuracy. His TD to interception rate is crazy good. He has the legs to run if he needs to. The only question is how well he can read the entire field but that was in part because of the way TN had their Offense set up. I think with the proper development, that he's going to be able to get sitting behind Goff for a year or two, the Lions could have their future QB in training

  • @trocknorat
    @trocknorat Рік тому +7

    He could be the best player in the entire draft. I think he will be successful. I am a huge fan of older QBs coming out of college. They are almost always pro-ready. They hit the ground running. Underclassmen often get benched after playing like shit and they can't ever find their way back on the field.

    He's gonna be better than Will Levis and perhaps even the best QB in the draft this year. And think about age: why does that really matter? Yeah he's playing against younger players but if he's a good quarterback he'll play for ten or fifteen years in the NFL. Not like he's likely to be with one team that whole time anyways. Mahomes played in a spread offense as well. He ain't Mahomes but I'm gonna come out and say that he's gonna be a top 2 quarterback in this draft at least.

    • @andrewbracht7939

      I think Levis has a high ceiling, but lowest floor… Like Sam Darnold floor… I’d say lowest ceiling, but highest floor is Stroud. Just a safe pocket passer without the rushing upside of the other guys.

    • @kylek7748
      @kylek7748 Рік тому +1

      @Andrew Bracht agreed on stroud but I feel like Richardson has the highest ceiling in theory. People are kind of overstating how low his floor is in my opinion. He is raw but his offensive weapons were pathetic and so was his line so for someone that really doesn't know what he's doing yet I don't see why he can't have a Justin fields like season. Justin had like a 55 qbr and only threw for like 2200 yards but he posted a 1000 yard rushing season and I can see Richardson being that until he learns the position more. That being said I think Bryce will be the one to reach his ceiling more than levis or Richardson

    • @andrewbracht7939
      @andrewbracht7939 Рік тому

      Agree! That rushing and athleticism for AR elevates his floor and ceiling over all others in the class… but it also could shorten his shelf life… NFL and Fantasy values are just not the same for the QB position.

      @@kylek7748 but Justin fields was prolific in college. He had like 3k yards 70% comp and 41/3 tds to ints one season and 2 of those picks were in the same game. Fields has a way better record as a passer.
      Richardson is super athletic no doubt but he has a big potential to bust. Gotta make throws in the nfl hopefully the colts get their o line to show up next year and JT can stay healthy and carry the ball 20+ times a game. JT and Richardson in a RPO would be fun to watch.

    People talk about the "Tennessee offense" and rightfully so but these same casuals will hype up Drake Maye who also plays in a "simplified" scheme and got shut down vs several ACC opponnents. To me the biggest knock on Hooker should be his age- I do not think teams should draft QB's older than 24 in the 1st round. I could see Hooker going to the Saints or Seahawks in the 2nd round.
