    ABOUT THIS VIDEO
In this video, Matt shows you how to stretch your inner thigh muscles. The hip adductor muscles can generate a lot of sensations of tightness when you sit all day and also from doing lots of lower body exercises.
If you find your groin is tight after working out or your inner thigh muscles feel really restricted, this stretch can help you improve your hip flexibility. With this adductor stretch, you'll be able to loosen your tight adductors all day long!

This was EXACTLY what I needed. Both my chiropractor and my massage therapist have been telling me how tight my adductors are, but because of my limited flexibility, those first stretches you showed are not available to me. THIS is going to be so useful, thank you!!

I got the best tip of my life from Dr. Jo, my adductor were so tight they would spasm.
She showed a video of how to loosen them through massage! Instead of massaging vertical up and down, massage front to back!
It hurt so bad when I started, now I'm normal, pain is gone! That is so bad when they are tight. Stretching did not work, I tried alot of things.
Then found Dr. Jo and finally got relief.
I wish you health and relief.

This is the most the most amazing stretch and an awesome video. This position provides a stretch that nothing else can! It’s amazing to learn how weak my body feels here, which confirms how necessary it is!!! Thank you!!!! Also, the idea of shifting feet or hip or torso provides slightly alternate stretches and encourages strength training. LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!

I have had hip and lower back pain for many years now. In the last month I started stretching, after doing an x-ray to rule out other issues, and it has helped greatly. What I came to find out is that getting stronger in range of motion is very important. It tells my body that it won't get hurt in that position. When I started increasing strength in the stretch I found out just how incredibly weak some of the muscles were as the other muscles were over compensating for them.

This is the best stretch I've found by far! Being able to adjust positioning in so many ways allows me to really target areas of the muscles that the other traditional stretches would never really get. I've been cycling for the past 3 years, but recently I've been trying to improve my training to the point that I can start competing at an amateur level. But, after destroying my knees and ankles playing high school sports, 25 years ago, it's not easy. Recently, I've developed pain and tightness on the inside of my right knee, right about where the adductor attaches just above the knee. The pain is easily relieved through massage, but I've been looking for a stretch that can help me avoid the pain in the first place. I've only done it for a short time, but so far, so good. Thank you!

What about abductors.. How do I strength them w out bands.... I'm suffering from groin pain. MRI shows a Labiel tear. But have had it for yrs. Without specific hip pain. Also have numbness down leg. Sometimes it's so bad I
Can scream. Sometimes I do. If I do adductor stretch I will absolutely feel the groin pain isolated.
Anyway I'm a mess new lots of Strengthing. Always need ed to exercise.. To function.
Are you a PT? We're is your information. Are you in NY?
Note I also need machines to build STRENGTH... AND WARMTH.... NOT CHILLS IN APT.
IM LOOKING FOR A GOOD EXERCISE ORIENTED PT w exercise physiologogist. To work with. Who takes insurance. Any suggestions.

Great stretch option and great vid, Matt! Always love your insight! Nothing against the butterfly and pancake stretches (do them daily), but really appreciate this posterior tilt variation for a standing/lunging option. I've only ever done the standing/lunge more anterior tilt version of an adductor stretch. The form is more like a side lunge, hinging forward at the hip, and I honestly kinda hate that stretch bc it is just way too easy to irritate my straight leg knee. And now I feel extra vindicated if I never do it again ;) because it's just another flexed hip option --the key observation you made for me in this video!!-- that I don't have much use for (as a squat, yes, but not so much when I'm targeting an adductor stretch). The version you show here, though, I like a lot and look forward to exploring. Thank you!

Hi Matt! i have a question/video request! I just found your channel so maybe you already covered this subject... link? I work in a clothing store, wich means i stand/walk/fold/hang/carry heavy boxes of jeans and stuff, all day long. Not only are my feet and legs super tired and heavy on the end of the day(i do admid i dont wear the most supportive shoes, but i have to look at least a bit fashionable *guilty grin on face*) also, my back, shoulders and neck get all tensed up. when i get home and flop myself on the couch i feel like a 80 year old and have to make all the grandma noises when i want to stand up. Are there any exercises/stretches i can do to help with this? :)
