Cheers. I found that there wasn't that much info on the trail and had I not stumbled across a couple of blogs that thelifeofpy and thelongwaysbetter wrote, I felt like I would have basically been flying blind going into it. Hopefully this video makes it a bit easier for those planning to do it in the future.
i know im kinda late lol but just had to say, im literally only 5 minutes in and so in awe already. love the drone footage and different angles! and the music is so calm and peaceful, I love it. keep up the good work, its insipiring! definitely looking forward to watching more videos like these
Aww man, I was supposed to do a motorcycle trip through Australia in August but cant because of covid19. What a beautiful place! I cant wait to do the trip!
Ah spewing! Hopefully the restrictions will be lifted sooner rather than later so you can get back out there. Riding through Fitzgerald River National Park would be bloody amazing!
try avenza maps dude i left alltrails for avenza heaps better too etc.....sacrafice the camera gear mate bring more beers and bongs along haha great video mate
Another beautiful piece Josh! I've only discovered your videos recently, and glad I did. You mentioned Alltrails, and I'm wondering if this is the best program..better than garmin or hema? Could you tell me please?
Cheers Geoff! I haven’t used Garmin or Hema before so I can’t give you a proper answer for that one. At a quick glance though both of those look pretty decent. I just like the AllTrails App as its got everything that I need, which is mainly offline maps & research for future hikes.
Dude absolutely loving the channel. I’m a Perthie currently living in Tokyo creating hiking videos as well. Your production quality is goals. Maybe we could tee up a hike in WA at some point down the line. Keep killing it 👊
Beautiful footage sad doesn't have much views the camera angles are awesome. Good to know it's in WA will try it someday but will have to do a point and return trip. Glad to see you running those merrels I got a same pair good boots.
Those boots look like they are pretty good? Type, Cost? Sleeping bag and blowup air mattress ?? Think I like the self inflating :-) we plan on doing a bit of camping/walking but have Road bikes so want to keep everything Small/Light. That stove looks pretty good too .. Type/ Price/ How long the gas cylinders last ?? I was gonna comment on the MO but ... :-)
Cheers Mark. Couldn't tell you what shoes they are, just bought them after trying on a few of them from the local Anaconda shop. They've got a 'm' as their logo if that helps? I remember them being about 150-200 bucks. Mattress is from hikenture and was about 30 bucks. Sleeping bag is the enlightened equipment revelation 10. Pretty expensive being ~$500 but worth it in my opinion. The stove is a jetboil and can't recommend it enough. It'll cost you about $120 and the canisters about $10each with up to 24 boils for one cannister. Sadly the mo will more than likely be disappearing soon. Best of luck with your adventures!
What do you do with your food waste when out on the trail? I am about to start doing some multiday hikes and I am a little worried about having little critters chewing through my tent or bag insearch of food.
I usually just throw all the old wrappers and what not in a used backcountry meal packet. They’re pretty sturdy bags, can fit a lot, and I’d be carrying it regardless so figured I might as well throw all my waste in them.
@@JoshCarrHikes awesome, thanks for the reply. You have inspired me to come over to WA when the borders open for some hiking. You should definitely check out the mount Kosciusko 10 peak hike. Best alpine hike in Australia IMO. Super scenic aswell for those drone shots ;)
Thanks Thomaz. I've just got a 13000mah portable battery to charge up my iphone. Usually get 2 and a bit charges out of it. And just used my phone as navigation with the help of the Alltrails App
Really liking your videos man. I'm a Perthie living in the UK and missing the open spaces back home. I've gotta ask, is it a coincidence or did you take some of your video style inspiration from Kraig Adams? Anyway, especially some of the drone footage on this one and the extra info at the end! Cheers
Thanks mate, we certainly are fortunate to have scenery like this in our backyard! Definitely not a coincidence - Really love Kraig's style and truth be told I struggle to watch other creators that 'vlog' their hikes. The silence and serenity speaks volumes in my eyes and is a large reason why I go hiking in the first place. If there were ten other channels out there that followed Kraig's style I'd watch them all, but unfortunately I've struggled to find any. With that in mind it's a very large reason why I've chosen to follow his style as I'm sure there are others out there wishing they could watch more than just the monthly upload from him.
The quality of your videos is superlative. An absolute pleasure to watch.
So beautiful
Brilliant!!! Im heading out there in early april, some great insight here to what I'm up against.
Happy Hiking !!
Awesome video Josh. What a great advert for getting out and about in the great outdoors. Keep up the great work.
Cheers Mick appreciate it
Awesome hike man! Looks like a awesome time. Thanks for sharing
Cheers for watching again!
@@JoshCarrHikes no problem.
Great footage, thanks for sharing.

Stunning aerial views!
Great hike and set up, I hope the gear is not too heavy
Thanks! Definitely a little heavy on the camera side of things but worth it to capture those moments
So good putting in all the trail details on there! Hardly any hiker channels do this, heaps good mate

Awesome m8t. Love your editing style.

Wow - some awesome imagery... WA is stunning! From Qld and never visited, I love how isolated and pristine it is there...
We've definitely got it good over here. Worth the trip ;)
That was beautiful! Then followed up with info to boot! Fantastic job - thank you!
Thanks Lisa, glad you enjoyed it!
Great video from a dude in the states. If I ever go back to Australia I need to hit this hike up.
Thanks mate, you won’t regret it if you do!
Gorgeous shots!
Well done, looks fantastic and thank you for the info overview and the end, it was quite helpful.

Thanks man, sounds good to me! Hope you’re keeping safe in Tokyo!
What boots are you using? I have Oboz but feel like they are just a tad uncomfortable for long hikes.
I’ve got a set of Merrel Moabs. Couldn’t tell you the specific name but they seem to go alright

Epic trip man! Would love to hike a coastline like that! Great camera work!
